Neige has incredible black metal vocals, and he's got a beautiful clean voice as well. His black metal ones are so full of emotion. Whenever his voice cracks, it just, goddamn it is incredible.
Shoegazing (also known as shoegaze) is a subgenre of alternative rock . The shoegazing sound is typified by significant use of guitar effects, and indistinguishable vocal melodies that blended into the creative noise of the guitars. There's a heavy droning distorted guitar effect. Some bands are "Lush" "My Bloody Valentine" "Ride" "Alcest" "Slowdive" and "LSD and the Search for God". My Bloody Valenine's "Loveless" is considered the definitive shoegaze album
I have to say that might be the first helpful comment I've ever seen on youtube. Thank you kind youtuber. And yes, it saved me from googling as well haha.
It just is. i don't know what makes things beautiful, but it reaches a certain emotion deep in the unconscious me. That is the only way i can explain it
so, this band has really sad songs and lyrics, I think the idea is to be heavy but with influences from 80s bands, like post-punk, noise rock and shoegaze stuffs
they are also considered post-punk, I don't really know why. Not post-hardcore, but post punk. A magazine I read called Loveless the best post-punk album ever. I agree it's more shoegaze, but that's what they call it
@iamthegirlfriend this guy is right. its much like good ole screamo. theres also a bunch of neocrust, which basicly is another post.-hardcore genre (just as real screamo is)
Why lmao. The fuzz is totally black metal inspired, and song structure pretty much 80s dark wave influenced. Neige never mentioned being inspired by screamo
Which is funny because I prefer shoegaze-inspired black metal like Alcest, Amesoeurs, Altar of Plagues, and Wolves in the Throne Room to classic shoegaze like MBV's "Loveless."
Why lmao. The fuzz/tremolo picking is totally black metal inspired, and song structure pretty much 80s dark wave influenced. Lots of double bass as well. Neige never mentioned being inspired by screamo lol
ugh, ok ya'all I'll break it down for ya there are 5 subgenres of metal; Death Metal Black/Folk Metal Doom Metal Traditional Heavy Metal Power/Gothic Metal grindcore is supposed to be a combination of death/black metal with punk, and blah-core is simplified metal with breakdowns simply put, Amesoeurs is a form of progressive post Black Metal
could it be post-black metal because to me it does not sound like shoegaze... shoegaze with black metal influence=post-black metal saying it is shoegaze kinda implies it is rock.. and saying it has black metal influence kinda contrasts with that doesn't it.. should it not be post-black
dude, I'm talking about the MAIN branches. thrash is part of traditional heavy, as well as nwobhm, glam is power metal, folk is part of black, metalcore isn't a genre in metal, its supposed to refer to simplified grindcore, and post-metal is the same as saying post-rock. those are the 5 main MAJOR categories of heavy metal
I get frustrated with metal subgenres. I reckon it should be black metal, thrash metal, death metal and core. Then each of those 1 level further, symphonic black, tech death, etc. Any further than that and you start getting 'funeral doom metal' and 'nu-black wavecore'

Neige has some of the most intense Harsh Vocals period.I love this Track so much :)

Anything with neige is an absolute masterpiece!
J'ai acheté l'album d'Amesoeur en prévente! Tellement hâte de le recevoir. Il me faudrait celui avec cette chanson là aussi...
Thank You, I am heavily into music and I always get excited when I find yet another subgenre of music
This is the 1st song i've heard from this band and its awesome!
Great photo's too, works so well with the song, thx for posting
I have to say that might be the first helpful comment I've ever seen on youtube. Thank you kind youtuber.
And yes, it saved me from googling as well haha.
Such an emotionally heavy song. Neige truly has the best black metal vocals out there.
C'est dans les moments là où on est fier de son pays ... ^^
A chaque fois que je l'ecoute toujours ce petit frisson uuummmmm!
Your stark black and white photography matches it well, good job
The outro is absolutely genious, it would be amazing to hear more percussion-like stuff in Alcest!
Neige
True
brilliant
why is this beautiful.
It just is. i don't know what makes things beautiful, but it reaches a certain emotion deep in the unconscious me. That is the only way i can explain it
Great photos and band, i was directed here from an AUSTERE video and I am not dissapointed
Perfect, just perfect.
so, this band has really sad songs and lyrics, I think the idea is to be heavy but with influences from 80s bands, like post-punk, noise rock and shoegaze stuffs
Neige is a genius. He's proved it with this and Alcest.

they are also considered post-punk, I don't really know why.
Not post-hardcore, but post punk.

I agree it's more shoegaze, but that's what they call it
Perfect !
Yup. :( But one of the members, Fursy Teyssier, has a band called Les Discrets, if you didn't know about them already.
masterpiece
Was Neige around 16 years old here? Woah
Right on.
And Neige plays as Alcest, both really good bands!
Good Sound!
unfortunate how they only released one full length and then split...I guess that's how all good bands go..
for sure!

@ACABATU Eh, I prefer Alcest... But these guys are really good, too! ^___^
Which is funny because I prefer shoegaze-inspired black metal like Alcest, Amesoeurs, Altar of Plagues, and Wolves in the Throne Room to classic shoegaze like MBV's "Loveless."

there are 5 subgenres of metal;
Death Metal
Black/Folk Metal
Doom Metal
Traditional Heavy Metal
Power/Gothic Metal
grindcore is supposed to be a combination of death/black metal with punk, and blah-core is simplified metal with breakdowns
simply put, Amesoeurs is a form of progressive post Black Metal
It sounds like Children of the Damned by Iron Maiden
clearly
yeah with some punky drums and black metal screeches?
I think someone said this was alt. rock, wtf? This is BLACK metal :) melodic black metal
@ACABATU I think Alcest is better, but just IMO. Amesoeurs are pretty good!!!
BM and shoegaze sounds pretty good. kinda lke DSBM
a lot can be tagged as shoegaze. at all its a weird genre.
no question that this is post-punk and black metal.
....well have u ever heard post-hardcore? Not always that fast. Keyword: POST
Guessing you don't listen to alot post :p
It´s Neige. So it must be good.
reminds me of katatonia's murder.
could it be post-black metal because to me it does not sound like shoegaze... shoegaze with black metal influence=post-black metal
saying it is shoegaze kinda implies it is rock..
and saying it has black metal influence kinda contrasts with that doesn't it.. should it not be post-black

FURIA - IDZIE ZIMA

BLACK Amesoeurs > Peste Noire
post-punk isn't all that fast. Is MBV fast? The CURE? no
post punk doesn't have to be fast.
I get frustrated with metal subgenres. I reckon it should be black metal, thrash metal, death metal and core. Then each of those 1 level further, symphonic black, tech death, etc. Any further than that and you start getting 'funeral doom metal' and 'nu-black wavecore'

What the hell is shoegaze. why people have to make new labels everyday?
