- Thought i'd try to go for a hint of Leica in this simulation. All shots are SOOC and based on the film simulation settings below.
Share on Instagram with @nataliesphotojournal so I can see all your results from the simulation!

Thanks for this down to earth and authentic conversation; educational and much appreciated. I hope you recover fully soon.
This is an absolutely gorgeous film simulation, the best that I've tried. Thank you so much for sharing this! Best wishes on your continued recovery!
Thank you so much! I'm working on a new video to be released soon. Bit delayed as I had a mini LongCovid crash today, but i'll recover!
I love your vibe!
Thankyou Natalie glad your getting better I'm playing around with a film simulation at the moment of classic chrome but will try your simulation out also I have an XT30 I will use for it with my 23mm F2 lens see how it looks cheers again and God bless you.......
Thank you!
hi Nathalie, thanks a lot for this channel. something very different but really honest and natural - i love it. Also to share your experience with us - thank's a lot! greetings from switzerland.
Greetings! Thank you too for such kind words! I absolutely aim to be as authentic as I can in my videos, glad you enjoyed it!
That was the film simulation i was looking for. Really thanks
Glad you like it!
That was a wonderful video presentation. Thank you so much. 😊
Thankyou so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Dear Sir, Watching from Arlington - Texas in the United States, Love the Fuji X100 Series, best wishes Sir on your photography.
Awesome👍
brilliant ❤
lovely video! thanks for sharing your images, the recipe looks great! i'll definitely be trying this out :))
Thanks! Hope you get some great images too!
I purchased a fuji x100v to get back in touch with the art and process of just taking photos as well! I'm really enjoying the experience so far, I had been shooting film but that was getting to be too cumbersome and expensive. I do a lot of video and content creation in my professional life and I was starting to miss having a camera to just shoot stills with, the x100v has sparked that creative motivation in me again!
Its a lovely camera, and has its own unique look to images, thanks to that cracking lens. I love messing with mist filters on the camera too, it really encourages you to shoot sooc...
Greetings from Alabama USA. Enjoyed and thanks.
Thanks Jack! Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm blown away by how well received its been! Love fuji cameras!
Nice video!
I really enjoyed this video!
It has something special about it, just as the TH-cam was back in the day - it's purely interesting without any fancy editing, milions of transitions, pumped up music and all the other "modern" type of things. It's just good storytelling, tremendous amount of passion; it can be seen that you deeply enjoy the topic you are speaking of. It's a great change of pace here on TH-cam, where everyone seems to be chasing the next big thing, shout around, using clickbaity titles and this experience was so different, so much warmer, so much more relaxing and enjoyable - so I really wish to thank you for this aspect of your work.
As for the film simulation - I love it. So contrasty, so strong, it's got a "finished photo" look and it's awesome. It will definitely be one of the sims I will use the most on my upcoming trips and everyday shooting, because it would be perfect during the sunny days to play a bit with sun and shadows.
Thank you very much, Natalie, it was a pleasure to watch your video.
Thankyou so much for your kind words! I enjoyed making this video and love photography and sharing my journey with cameras! I'll be doing more videos like this for sure, from the heart!
This was such a lovely comment and I would like to repeat this sentiment. Great video, looking forward to more
@@filmfauxtos thanks more content soon, working on a few videos!

Great channel, subbed.
great stuff, keep it up! :)
Great video 👌🏻
Thankyou!
Very nice.. thanks for sharing. Is the white balance set to auto?
Yes! Auto. I find changing to a fixed white balance can change the look of the simulation too much under different conditions.
What a gentle human being you are. The simulation is as beautiful as yourself. Subbed! May I ask what WB settings you used for this one? thanks
Thanks, I tend to use auto white balance with the simulations as in day shooting conditions it's quite accurate.
did u do some white balance color shift?@@NatsWright
No WB shift... @@_k2films
Thanks a lot for your video and the recipe you present! I never got comfortable with Classic Chrome. I preferred Classic Negative. But with your "Like Leica" settings I have another film to choose from. Thanks again!
Thank you and glad you like it!
I’m looking forward to taking my new X100V on bicycle rides. Trying to decide if I should carry it with a shoulder strap with stabilizer or in a pannier on the bike. My carbon road bike is currently unencumbered with bags!
Now that's a good question! One I've been wresting with for a while!
@@NatsWright Good question indeed! I contracted COVID this week so that means I’ve plenty of time off the bike to contemplate my options. Would very much like to know what you decide eventually. Maybe a bicycle ride with the mighty X100V would be a good video for you to share your thoughts about cycling and photography!
@@GrenvilleMelonseedSkiff496 hope you feel better soon!! Oh, and watch this space on cycling and photography!
@@NatsWright Excellent … looking forward to seeing that video!
Good and interesting video, just subscribed. Lovely looking film sim, I can’t wait to try it. Also watched pal2tech’s video about taking a break recently. It’s so easy to burn yourself out when you become a slave to an algorithm. No wonder photographers are turning to Twitter…
Aww, thanks! Hope you enjoy the film sim, i've been taken aback by how popular this video has been!
Is there an exposure compensation factor,,,or just leave at 0 ???
Thanks
No need to change the EV settings
Do you have an instagram where you post your photos by any chance? I’d love to follow it
Yes, I need to post more on it too!! I'm @nataliesphotojournal on Instagram
Would center weighted metering be advisable with this film recipe
Depends on the scene in reality, so only makes a difference if the camera is not exposing as you'd like. I'd suggest average metering, and use the exposure compensation dial to brighten or darken the image.
What is the white balance set to in this recipe?
Just set auto for everyday outdoor use
Any other recipes besides this and the b/w ?!?!
Is this film recipe compatible with x trans v?
Yeah, it should work with x-trans 5
@@NatsWright thx Nat! Oh btw if you like B&W take a look at the Pentax monochrome camera they released, way cheaper than leica m11 monochrom maybe it’s just as good or good too! I can’t afford a Leica either 😆 but kinda want an actual monochrom camera one day too
