Back then it was more about "I have the money" So no, at her time, no one that didn't had the money could get on track. Nowdays almost everyone can afford a PC (or at least a console), buy a full-sim racing game, buy a steering wheel, pedals and play until they're good enough to be noticed by a lot of teams. So looking how she did back then... If she were starting her career right now... I'm pretty sure a lot of people would challenge her and even win, because man lets be honest, most of her crashes were single-vehicle accidents, she entered loose to the corners or with a lot of speed and easily lost control of the vehicle. I could say even a casual sim-racer could win the iRacing Daytona 500 against her.
I've got to give it to her, she's got integrity. She knows that things are not ideal and her performance is not where she wants it to be. But you can tell that deeply resident in her consciousness and internal motivation is a burning desire to pull it all together. Petty was right, 100%. Wasn't a PC or popular thing to say, but it was exactly what everyone already knew and was thinking anyway. If she wasn't a cute female, she would have NEVER gotten that sponsorship or ride, especially with the results she produced. I don't think anyone would have a problem with a female driver if she could actually DRIVE. Danica's popularity and press coverage was WAY out of proportion to her abilities. For those that question the talent of NASCAR drivers. There was once a series called International Race of Champions. Champions from all types of racing competed against each other in identical cars. This happened 30 times. All but 6 were won by NASCAR drivers. Of course you could argue that AJ Foyt was more open wheeled than NASCAR but he would only account for 2 more wins. You may not like the constant left turns, but I don't like the lack of passing and wheel to wheel racing of some of the other type racing. So to each his own I guess.

Anyway, Danica Patrick needs a true major sponsor and I am sure with the right sort of legal help she could get a "real major sponsor" , she could still put godaddy.com on her car but in a more minor way, maybe she could get some computer manufacturer I don't know who though, I bet Lenovo would sponsor her.

Let me be as honest as I can be; If Adam Petty deserved to be out there, so does Danica. And look at the bright side. Unlike Adam, she doesn't have to worry about her father & grandfather murdering her out of envy of the Earnhardt's success.
You don't know how Adam Petty died. Do you? You're also being unfair to Adam Petty. As short as his career was, he was still a talented driver. Although being a member of the Petty family most definitely gave him so leeway, he still managed to get a top 10 finish in almost 10% of the races that he was in. That may not seem like a lot, but in NASCAR that is an impressive feat for a driver. Danica Patrick, on the other hand, raced in 252 NASCAR races and wound up getting a top 10 finish in less percent of her races than Adam Petty did of his. Adam Petty was a talented driver who was taken away from NASCAR way too early. Danica Patrick was nothing more than a slight barrier to get around on the track and Adam Petty, unlike Danica Patrick, knew how to not crash his car in every race.

A lot of her crashes caused by others? A lot of her crashes were single-car crashes, what does this means? This means she lost control of her vehicle alone and crashed. Most of those crashes were because she entered loose a corner. In crashes were other drivers were in and weren't caused by her, a lot of them could be easily saved. For example, some of her crashes were on the inside of the track, all she needed to do was to go down on the track and slow down in the process but what she did almos every time? She preferred to go to the outside of the track near the wall thinking she can go past through the pack of crashed vehicles but in the end the outside of the track will mostly be too narrow, so every racer thinks to go inside instead of outside for that reason.
She's talented (Maybe not the best driver on the track, but she has some talent) She needs a good car and luck.... So fast she hasn't got none of those.....

Petty was right, 100%. Wasn't a PC or popular thing to say, but it was exactly what everyone already knew and was thinking anyway.
If she wasn't a cute female, she would have NEVER gotten that sponsorship or ride, especially with the results she produced.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with a female driver if she could actually DRIVE. Danica's popularity and press coverage was WAY out of proportion to her abilities. And no offense to her, but she just wasn't good.

For those that question the talent of NASCAR drivers. There was once a series called International Race of Champions. Champions from all types of racing competed against each other in identical cars. This happened 30 times. All but 6 were won by NASCAR drivers. Of course you could argue that AJ Foyt was more open wheeled than NASCAR but he would only account for 2 more wins. You may not like the constant left turns, but I don't like the lack of passing and wheel to wheel racing of some of the other type racing. So to each his own I guess.

Danica Patrick has been stuck with sub par sponsors, for example godaddy.com, godaddy.com should only be a secondary or minor sponsor in conjunction with a more major one, if you look at Joey Logano for example he as Autotrader.com as a secondary sponsor, and if you think about it autotrader.com is bigger than godaddy.com where autotrader deals with a real physical property where-as godaddy.com is limited to virtual products and services. Anyway, Danica Patrick needs a true major sponsor and I am sure with the right sort of legal help she could get a "real major sponsor" , she could still put godaddy.com on her car but in a more minor way, maybe she could get some computer manufacturer I don't know who though, I bet Lenovo would sponsor her.

Let me be as honest as I can be; If Adam Petty deserved to be out there, so does Danica. And look at the bright side. Unlike Adam, she doesn't have to worry about her father & grandfather murdering her out of envy of the Earnhardt's success.

You're also being unfair to Adam Petty. As short as his career was, he was still a talented driver. Although being a member of the Petty family most definitely gave him so leeway, he still managed to get a top 10 finish in almost 10% of the races that he was in. That may not seem like a lot, but in NASCAR that is an impressive feat for a driver. Danica Patrick, on the other hand, raced in 252 NASCAR races and wound up getting a top 10 finish in less percent of her races than Adam Petty did of his. Adam Petty was a talented driver who was taken away from NASCAR way too early. Danica Patrick was nothing more than a slight barrier to get around on the track and Adam Petty, unlike Danica Patrick, knew how to not crash his car in every race.

I for one would love to see her win a race. I'm pretty sure she could out drive a lot of those drivers. I do wonder if a lot of her wrecks are caused by others deliberately. let's face it if Nascar powers to be and also Tony Stewart as well weren't comfortable with her behind the wheel of a stock car she would not be there week after week.
A lot of her crashes caused by others? A lot of her crashes were single-car crashes, what does this means? This means she lost control of her vehicle alone and crashed. Most of those crashes were because she entered loose a corner.
In crashes were other drivers were in and weren't caused by her, a lot of them could be easily saved. For example, some of her crashes were on the inside of the track, all she needed to do was to go down on the track and slow down in the process but what she did almos every time? She preferred to go to the outside of the track near the wall thinking she can go past through the pack of crashed vehicles but in the end the outside of the track will mostly be too narrow, so every racer thinks to go inside instead of outside for that reason.
She's talented (Maybe not the best driver on the track, but she has some talent) She needs a good car and luck.... So fast she hasn't got none of those.....

She said, and I quote "My looks will get me anywhere I want to go!" I was floored to hear that and to see her awful "SMIRK" as she said it, since that time it's all I see coming from her, ie; those 10 words. I do give her A LOT of kudos for being in a male dominated sport, as I am sure it's not easy. My friend, IRL driver Sarah Fisher is just as beautiful BUT she doesn't carry it everywhere she goes. I feel Danica should be the same. I am not jealous of either women. No matter what we look like, their is beauty to be found in the way one carries themselves. :o) Have a great day.
