Similar.... But why would you go with a low engagement hub when you can run ochain? Low engagement not idea for a high torque sprint where you want to put the power down immediately.
@@BowzKnows ochain has a deadzone too, exactly like a low engagement hub. Looking into it there is a small difference. The hub engagement points are at fixed intervals, so one might actually get instant engagement by chance (and also more kickback). Ochain guarantees the free-play every time.

the most stupid review / comparison ever. Like comparing Porsche with a Golf... the only comparable bike out there right now is Atherton, not some YT or other asia made mass production bikes. Ochain is solving a (almost) non existing problem. Watch "How Your Chain Interacts With Your Suspension - The Tuesday Tune 31" and "What is PEDAL KICKBACK?...Should you care?" for the explanation. Except when you lock your rear wheel (which anyway you should not do) or have big impacts at very low speeds, the suspension can move and the chain can grow WITHOUT engaging the hub, so no pedal kickback. Pinkbike is pushing a myth created by the fact that people confuse a demo with a static bike with what is happening when the bike is ridden.
@@ianiscaratti4924 First, is not for me to explain what they claim, they should. People confidently claim to feel all sort of things... Second, have you heard about placebo? Human mind and senses are incredibly easy to fool, hence science uses methods like randomized double blind experiments.
I'd say the proof should be in the pudding. If a series of blind tests demonstrates that there is a difference in the suspension operation (for better or for worse is the next question) that a rider can reliably detect, then some sort of effect is most likely real. If there is no correlation, or only some people feel the difference, well, that would be another thing to explore further. But such experiment is not very expensive to organize, and it will be reliably repeatable and applicable to all sorts of suspension designs and race tracks. So really no point in theorizing for too long when we have physical embodiments for testing the hypothesis on our hands. That journalists cannot carry out and document a proper experiment is another sad thing.
