Yugi was so confident that nobody would walk away from the stimulating excitement of a children's card game that he didn't even consider that Mokuba dipped on him when he saw he was gone 😂
I still find it hilarious how Mokuba takes off the scarf and beanie, only to reveal a massive amount of hair which makes him look so much like a girl. Which then becomes even funnier during a later arc, because Seto created a princess for a video game who looks *exactly* like Mokuba.
So early on, both Joey and Mokuba just declare attacks on monsters that have higher attack, with no ulterior motive or hidden strategy. Like they either can't do kindergarten tier math, or they think their sheer audacity will just magically make their monsters stronger. It's hard to imagine someone being that stupid. My theory is that the game was so simplistic and linear during Duelist Kingdom that the only way for someone to be bad at it was to make them ignorant of basic facts.
a lot of the time, pre-battle city duel monsters just seems like it works like a fancy version of war, where battles _only_ happen between two opposing monsters each turn and each turn those monsters _must_ battle if possible. so, if you slap a monster down in attack position, it's hitting the field swinging. regardless of how good an idea that is i was gonna top this off with a joke like "as for why they don't summon things in defense position, uh" but the answer to that _is_ just the "fancy version of war" thing, where even previously established rules aren't safe from being excised for the sake of big number stronk
I wonder if Mokuba declared the end of his own turn before rushing to steal Yami's star chips. He was rightly confused and almost gathered enough courage to ask his opponent if it was alright for him to start the Draw Phase, wouldn't he be so scared to talk to him. Mokuba sure knew how to keep Yami under pressure enough time to allow him to rush to his side and proceed with larceny.

Yugi seems to be consistently fooled by people stealing things from him out of the game, first exodia and now this.
If only he could ask them not to do that.

Technically, it was reused from episode 1, and also the battle against that freaky fish guy.

It's even more egregious considering Kaiba has a company based solely on Duel Monsters. Mokuba would be disowned if Kaiba knew how badly he dueled.
