There are 2 types of beancurd sheet. One is for rolling and wrapping, the other one is for sweet soup. You may need to ask the seller whether the one you were buying was actually for the purpose of sweet soup.

Chow Aaron 唔用桃膠可以落返銀杏,或者雪耳椰果都得㗎。涼粉未試過熱食,唔建議落涼粉~

那可能是商家的銷售技倆。按理來說枝竹是用來燜煮的,所以一般頂多只能煮爛不能煮成溶化。但腐竹就真真正正的是用來煮糖水,所以能至溶化的才是真正的腐竹喔 :)

Do I need to wash away the starch of the sago?
Not necessary. The starch could somehow thicken your sweet soup which I personally I think is better.

Me too, even though I used the right bean curd sheets. I just put a stick (immersion) blender in it and it liquified to soy milk in 2 seconds!
