Thanks for the update Patrick. It's important for folks to remember that while GM is a single person's title it ISN'T a single person's job. The work is spread around and the expertise of each contributor is taken into consideration. You know that before Arvidsson was signed his medical was gone through. Same with Savoie and Philp. The person who looks at draft stock undoubtedly had some input on prospects for trade (and Keith Gretzky of course for prospects going out). It wasn't just Jeff Jackson making trades, the Cap specialist was involved (bean counter who makes sure we're compliant on day 1 of the season). I don't think it's really possible for one person to do it all. While one person may ultimately "make the call" they have to make an informed decision and others mostly gather the information. Jeff Jackson is incredible at his role now so him hiring a GM is better for the organization.

Best candidate for GM would be that guy he sees in the bathroom mirror every morning. Great off-season so far, so I guess we shouldn't be greedy. Hard to image there's anyone who could do a better job of GM than he has. CEO has a lot of other things to work on so combining everything would be a very heavy load to deal with. Let's give Daryl Katz a round of applause for hiring him.

Couldn’t disagree more. When you look at what this group accomplished this summer, why risk changing it up? Holland (an analytics guy like Jackson) or Gretzky (did well as interim GM) are going to be more than capable

If it’s internal I think it’s Jackson making trades and signings, and then Holland in this instance running the day to day
