In the original version of this cutscene, they had Cole's mom say, "Son, I am so proud of you. Don't you ever forget that." I REALLY wish they didn't cut that part. Would've made the waterworks x 10.

This whole scene was just amazing. When Cole grabbed the bomb, then the crowd started cheering "COLE TRAIN, COLE TRAIN" I got mad goosebumps.

Really shows why cole is my favorite character. He gave up everything to help save humanity and its even stated that him enlisting ended up massively increasing the amount of enlistments betond wht they ever had been.

This is one of the most soul-touching scene in a videogame. It is a simple scene but I'm sure that during this scene, we all relived something we haven't anymore. I think many of us are Cole Train
I can relate I like to truly believe there's a little Cole Train in all of us
Just imagine Sam, Baird and Clayton watching in awe as Cole just starts tackling exploding locusts.
It's cool that cole jumped over the cover while running,you couldn't do that in gears 3 but now you can do it in gears 4. I guess they got the idea from this scene

i was not prepared for this scene
None of us were. I was laughing my ass off when playing as Cole having flashbacks. Badass, and hilarious at the same time.
I was tearing up at first, then when he juked on that first Lambent, me and my friend started laughing our asses off and yelling "COLE TRAIN RUNS ON WHOLE GRAIN!"
Easily one of the best Gear's moments ever, it was just so surreal and changed my opinion on Cole in barely a few minutes.

That song gave my goosebumps, and I couldn't help but smile and cry when he took his helmet out and started walking to the field.

9 years later and still playing gears 3 and watching this cutscene.. made me cry.. reminds me of the days when I played highschool ball..
The Cole section of the game was probably one of my favorite segments in the entire Gears series. Hilarious, badass, and poignant all at the same time. I honestly wouldn't mind if Cole got his own game and/or DLC.
When I played Gears of War 3 back in early 2012 I was fascinated by the gameplay of Cole 'playing' with the bomb. Now, 10 years later, I'm thrilled with him picking up the helmet and remembering his playing days because now I felt the same emotion he did in that scene, a mixture of nostalgia and satisfaction. Thank you Cole, you are unstoppable.
I have to come back to this cutscene every now and again to remind myself how cool this series used to be. What an incredible moment.

Absolutely amazing scene, I truly didn't appreciate this on launch when I was in my mid teens as much as I do now but I think that's the best part about it. After 11 years and all the experiences and changes around me after that passage of time, being able to look back and reminisce like Cole Train for a bit on some good times feels like a mirrored experience even if I never occupied a position as prostigious as his in something like a sports League

@@DRIPDEVILthere is a collectible on the Stadium that is a manual explaining the rules, it's very similar but it has some differences to avoid injuries the ball also is a circle and not an egg
Sadly this is exactly wha gears of war 4 didn't achieve, it completely lacked flashbacks of the past that brought back emotion throughout the game. We barely know what happened to Anya or had any flashbacks of the 25 years that went by. Or even flashbacks of dim or something
Go to the tree where u find the jdf carpeted and then keep going a bit more to the right and you'll find a gate open it and u get a cutscene with you remembering anya

New game with new characters. Just like Gears of War 1, you don't know the characters yet to care about their development. Focusing on the previous Gears characters would undermine that this is a new generation of war.

but it had in the end the iconic fight with the two robots!
This was one of the best parts of the whole game.
This scene was just one of many in this game that made Gears of War 3 truly EPIC!

When the objective became “score a point”, Cole was back in his glory days.
This one 4 minute sequence has more heart, emotion, and soul than all of Gears 5 squeezed together.

The power of this scene is incalculable for, there's a lot of athletes that miss the game regardless of how they did.
This scene hits harder than the entirety of Gears of War 4 and Gears 5 combined. It's sad to see how far the Gears of War franchise had fallen. Gears of War Judgement in 2012 is the last great Gears of War game...
I agree GOW will always be Marcus, Dom, Baird, Tai, Cole, Dizzy, Anya and the Carmines. GOW 4 & 5 don't even feel like a GOW game & IMO they should have named it something else. Sucks they turned this once great franchise into Fortnite.😞

This game should've been the end man. I don't know what possessed epic games to make 4 and 5. But Marcus and the rest of the gang should've just lived happily ever after in the ending. It's evident that the devs wanted to end the franchise with a trilogy due to stuff like this. If only they did so....

What makes this even more sad. Cole knows this is a life he can't ever return to. Thrashball has the chance of returning to the world. But Cole had spent the past little over 14 years fighting in a war. While I'm sure Cole isn't at the recommended age anymore to participate. But if he continued to play, he could accidently kill someone.
You could say this was Cole's last time to relive those glorey days.

Cakrabayu Budireksa he was the Michael Jordan of thrash ball (the name of the fictional sport), he was famous worldwide. He was so respected than when he enlisted in the army to fight the locust there was a HUUUUGGEEEEE increase of volunteers enlisting to help in the war. Awesome character.
