Which would be a disaster. I’m an American, and we tried banning alcohol nationwide once before. To call it a disaster, is being generous. The direct result, was organized crime becoming permanently entrenched in this country, as they provided the supply for a product, forever in demand. And it was later revealed that over 10,000 people were directly murdered by the us government, who deliberately poisoned millions of gallons of alcohol they seized, and then let the speakeasys sell it. If comrade Stalin Starmer is using a smoking ban, as an inroad to an eventual alcohol ban, per his orders, from his Muslim masters, it will only end in violence, and criminality. If he has any common sense, he’ll stop this stupidity now.

A Labour government always, since time immemorial, either bans things, or makes them mandatory. It hardly matters which, as the reason is the same in each case: they know better. They know better how to spend your money, how you should live your life, what you should eat or drink, and what's best for your children. Smoking is just one rather inconsequential element in this plethora of choices that they want to deny you. Its so you never grow up. They infantilise you so you need them. Be warned -- we have been there before.

I don't like breathing in other people's smoke but the idea of a total ban seems draconian and damaging for pubs. Surely, each pub should be allowed to submit their garden size or proposal for a separate area to accommodate smokers? I have been to some pub gardens and they have fields for gardens! seems

I think pubs should be allowed to choose if they are smoking or non smoking in their outdoor spaces , I want to go and sit in a pub garden and not have smoke in my face , so I would choose to give my money to a smoke free put and you Nigel can choose a pub that allows smoking outside , what happened to choice in this country and control in the hands of individual businesses , Im an ex smoker so I do understand how hard it is to stop but the smoking in public ban has halved the number of smokers and thats a great thing

To get pension credit ? You can't have more than 10 grand savings ? You can apply if on care pip or attendance allowance so I would advise as my one over 66 entitled to pension to apply for pension credit you get 65 pound or more and that would reduce rent poll tax free dental glasses etc .
It wont happen regarding smoking otherwise the pubs and restaurant business and staff will loose jbs and be claiming benefits ...more unemployment and redundancy

Nicotine isn’t bad for you. People will take drugs whether they’re legal or not. Cannabis should not be illegal. Alcohol is one of the worst drugs on the planet and it’s rammed down your throat. I love a drink but it doesn’t mean I’m going to be in denial about it being incredibly bad for you.

I just don't understand why alcohol isn't seen as bad as half the illegal drugs out there, they say about cannabis and then moving on to harder drugs, why is alcohol not the same?

Rather than trying to ban smoking, why don't they ask people to pay for their treatment for smoking induced illness? Then we can reduce the NHS cost and then the tax burden, while still allowing people their liberties.
On the other hand, if the tax on tobacco has fuelled drug gangs in Austrailia dealing cigarettes instead of hard drugs, then maybe that is how to stop hard drug use.
The tax from cigarettes should be more than enough to cover any illnesses from smoking . I am a none smoker and think that current restrictions are more than ample .
They contribute to their 'possible' treatment every time they buy a packet of cigarettes. I say 'possble' because the majority of smokers never need related treatments.
The question on the ballot paper will be - "do you want Britain to have closer economic and working trade relations with EU countries including rejoining the bloc whenever the time is right?"

Sorry Nigel, love you usually but I don't want to sit and eat outside or have a drink being surrounded by smokers. I smoked 40 a day, loved it but I see this as a positive move.
