What I love is the respect the audience has for the band and their music. The crowd erupts at the end of a song but when the next song starts they go quiet and listen.
I saw them five times within 9 days in Sydney on this tour, in Jan/Feb 1988. I'll tell you why everyone was so quiet. The quality of the sound in that venue was great, even in the back row. The light show was something we'd never seen before .... and we knew we'd never get another chance to see these guys live. We just took everything in and made the most of it.
What you are witnessing is the greatest band that will have ever been on this world. If you don't know now you will soon recognize it. Keep playing Floyd and it will hit you.
One of my favorite songs A big shout out to Margret Taylor for that beautiful high note near the end 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It gives me chills every time Highly recommend "Sorrow" from the Pulse concert
Machan Taylor absolutely slayed that top note - it's so cool to see when people truly appreciate the background artists because they make such a difference. 👏👍 They've always had great back-up singers that elevate their music even more. Sam Brown also slayed the first part to "The Great Gig In The Sky" on their PULSE tour. Not that easy, following an act like Clare Torry's performance on the studio version. Awesome reaction, response and band. You can't go wrong with Pink Floyd 💯‼️
Thank you for your lovely reaction 😊! If you want proof that David Gilmour is still capable of evoking an emotional response with his singing and playing, may I suggest you check out ‘In any Tongue’ from his ‘Live at Pompeii’ gig from 2016. He is older, but will still blow you away!
2 minutes in and the reverse Gilmour happens. A normal Gilmour is when the head stops bobbing and the blink rate drops to near zero. The reverse is when the bobbing stops and the blink rate shoots up and tears start to form! Love it.
It's really great to see Swift totally enjoying some top class music from pink floyd and remembering her father listening to this great band and you can certainly feel her emotion when she's talking about it that really speaks volumes I really must say she really does feel the music well and truly and to hear her point of view on this band says it all she's hooked well and truly
Love this performance of it. How everything goes quiet in the middle to put the focus on the lyrics, just the backing singers almost like a gospel choir and then the instruments start coming back in. A sentiment that's as valid today as any time - just a world that we all must share, it's not enought just to stand and stare, is it only a dream that there'll be no more turning away. One of my favourite out solos too.
P.F. is a band that is meant to be listen to at home sitting down with no talking, nice stereo or head phones, lights out. 1 reason outside of DSOTM and a couple of Wall songs gets very little radio play, yet one of the best bands . P.F. last concert was 1994 and are still very popular. Suggest from a person who doesn't like non-band vids. Pink Floyd, with or without Waters, and you say Music! But there is much more in their DNA: there is feeling, emotion, delight, magic, fantasy, travel, pleasure, enjoyment, ecstasy, audacity and there is love, a lot of love for artisanal creation. Maestro David Gilmour is the sublime conductor of this masterful performance together with Maestros Richard Wright and Nick Mason. Together they express all their pure talent, supported by an incredible team of excellent musicians and splendid backing singers. Thank you for existing Floyd! I can suggest you some special over ear headphones models like the Bowers Wilkins PX7 S2e - Sony WH-1000XM5 - Sennheiser HD 660 S - Bose QuietComfort Ultra - Bang & Olufsen Beoplay HX - Beyerdynamic Amiron - Focal ELEGIA - Grado SR 80e instead for the in ear ones: Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 - Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 - Shure SE535 - Westone Audio PRO X20 - Mackie Mp-320 - Cambridge Audio Melomania M100
This is from their momentary laps of reason tour at the end of the eighties. The lighting was limited by the tech at the time. Where they really excelled, was their Pulse Tour in 1994. I recommend „Comfortably numb“, „High hopes“ and „Keep talking“!
Floyd was one of the first to use light shows back in the 60's they were also the first to use quadraphonic sound in the 70's (an early version of surround sound) at their live shows
Quadrophonic sound they used in 60s too. Characteristic part of they shows is this round screen on which they showed films on the performance. And this part is from 70s. I can't remember from which year but on DSOM was there for sure.
Nothing flashy just pure talent, light shows that were way ahead of their time, ( Genesis) were also right up there with their light show. As far as PF are concerned they were light years ahead of most of their contemporaries, it’s been said somewhere on YT that David Gilmour can do more with one string than most guitarists can with six ! Thanks for the reaction …more PF please almost anything from the Pulse concert and you can’t go wrong. I would suggest” Great Gig in the Sky” but it really should be experienced immediately after “ Time” as one leads you into the other
I have never heard this song before.....Excellent song though, sounds very peaceful in the lyrics, and very Pink Floyd in the instrumental parts..... Awesome job NVF.....😊 Until next time...👋
For a recommendation, listen to Shine on You Crazy Diamond parts 1-5 and parts 6-9. A tribute to Syd Barrett, a co-founding band member that left the band after losing a battle with drugs and schizophrenia. Studio version please. A fun song from Pink Floyd is Pigs off their Animals album.
You're right about Pink Floyd not being a band of show-offs! They want their music to do their talking for them and it always works!!! I've seen them four times in three different decades and never seen a better concert than they put on!!!
I know someday you will dive into Within Temptation but what you did today...great!! I'm a big Pink Floyd fan and you 'll have a wonderful musical journey with Pink Floyd. Next perhaps Coming Back To Life, another great one.(live). As always...❤

Great reaction sweetheart. Just to let you know that there's a terrible rumbling from your mic every time you move. I don't know how your mic is situated but if it's sitting on the desk may I suggest putting it on some foam or even a cushion. I love the fact that you don't interrupt the music. That shows respect.
Hi, still loving your reactions to groups that I grew up with. Pink Floyd are hard to beat. You told me to be persistent so for the third time🤨 - pleeease 🙏 try The Moody Blues, Nights in White Satin (the official live version with orchestra) - (Geoff UK)
I was there. Or I probably was. I was at 3 of the 5 of the shows they played in Uniondale. They chose their best performances of each song over the 5 nights. They dressed in the same clothes every night for continuity's sake in the concert film. That same week Gilmour played at the Les Paul tribute show in Brooklyn called "He Changed the Music." Worth looking up. Gilmour plays with Les Paul, Eddie Van Halen, BB King and others. Great show.
At 0:29, you asked about headphones. I've found the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra Noise-Cancelling headphones to be superb. Brilliant definition right across the frequency range. I got mine for around AUD 650 from JB HiFi. No regrets at all. Worth every cent. 🙂
Ear buds and headphones Bose makes a very good product. Pink Floyd my favourite band, I have one of their first albums before their new sound, it was blues very different. Billy USA
You've watched one of the greater live musical performances of a song in our lifetime IMO. Yeah I'm biased (and their whole PULSE tour was phenomenal), but this song is just ethereal that hits you right in the soul. And it's also hard to find a single issue with their musicianship (like basically all of their songs). David's incredible guitar solos are worth it alone. I was introduced to Floyd from the "The Wall" when I was a teenager and the album just left me speechless; and it's a "dark" album to put it lightly. I've been obsessed ever since. This is post-Roger Waters though and on a much lighter note. Never much cared for David Gilmour's songwriting abilities, but he hit it out of the park with this one (with some help I hear though). It's nothing like Bob Dylan or Gordon Lightfoot - but it was really good and for a good cause. As to Swift (!), she's brilliant when it comes to reactions IMO. She was so spot-on with everything, especially saying they're a very non-performative act when it comes to mannerisms etc. They barely flinched or move from their respective spots. Lol. She's also no-nonsense and gets to the point. But they let their instruments and the ambience (lighting etc) do it for them. That's what really touches the soul IMO. They never really revealed themselves like other bands did in that way. There was even a shot on this where the light hits David just on the side of his guitar 🎸 and face. I honestly think these guys are so brilliant that it wasn't just a coincidence. The emotional and incredible reaction was sublime. You get Pink Floyd like you get all music! 🎶❤️💡 And beautiful shout-out to your dad 🙏🛐‼️
Headphones suggestion(s)... If you're looking only for "in-ears" then the following info will be of absolutely no use whatsoever... 😀 Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition [roughly AU$ 300-350] - these are "closed back" which means reduced noise leakage / less annoying to others nearby Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X [roughly AU$ 370-420] - "open back" meaning the audio is slightly more "airy" but audio can easily be heard by others nearby I have both and am very happy with them. Both are "musical" and don't emphasise any particular frequency (e.g. treble / bass). That said, the bass is just a touch more prominent and punchy with the DT 770 PRO X and, overall, the 770s are a touch more revealing but without being too bright or harsh. BOTH the above PRO X sets have replaceable cables which may or may not be part of the equation for yourself. Replacement ear-pads are a touch on the expensive side but they are fairly easy to obtain and, IMO, both of the above sets are comfortable to wear for extended listening sessions. Of course, YMMV. Reaction (to) reaction... If you like reflections on the world at large, a couple of options for the songs "High Hopes" and "Sorrow": - th-cam.com/video/pDKPz6KD8fs/w-d-xo.html ["High Hopes" live 1994 "PULSE" tour] - th-cam.com/video/m1KJKRG4ZoY/w-d-xo.html ["High Hopes" live 2006 DG solo tour - "Live In Gdansk"] - th-cam.com/video/JdPTec5ADFE/w-d-xo.html ["Sorrow" live 1994 "PULSE" tour] - th-cam.com/video/q3ATfbYXqpc/w-d-xo.html ["Sorrow" live 2016 DG solo tour "Live At Pompeii"] Also, a couple of links to slightly differing studio / album versions: - th-cam.com/video/7jMlFXouPk8/w-d-xo.html ["High Hopes" OMV; without telephone audio at end] - th-cam.com/video/lku1fP-LszI/w-d-xo.html ["High Hopes" audio only; WITH telephone audio at end] - th-cam.com/video/nPM-QSCnNas/w-d-xo.html ["Sorrow" audio only; 1987 mix] - th-cam.com/video/l_LbAz9Dn_w/w-d-xo.html ["Sorrow" audio only; 2019 remix*] * The whole album "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" was remixed in 2019 because DG and Nick Mason weren't happy with some of the original recording and mixing choices. New parts were recorded (drums in particular), some parts were given different prominence in the mix and so on. The later version sounds notably different and is definitely "fuller". As to whether one is "better" than the other, I've long since learnt to leave keyboard warriors to indulge in some well rehearsed "debate" that may or may not be healthy... 😲😃 Whatever you decide to react to, happy listening / watching.
Yes, this is "different" than earlier works you have reacted to. The band's meteoric rise to fame came in the early 1970's with Dark Side of the Moon. And for a decade they delivered works of musical and lyrical genius. The band had a synergy of that genius which was greater than the sum of the parts. Not long after "The Wall" Roger Waters left the band. Roger was primarily the lyricist although he did sketch some of the songs musically. However those "pencil sketches" if you will, were then taken by David Gilmour and Richard Wright and fashioned into The Mona Lisa by analogy. After Roger left, the tone of the band changed, as one of the major issues was the tone and direction of the band between David and Roger. This is without Roger, so yes it has a definitely different feel to it. Sadly Richard passed away in 2008, but David is still going strong, and released a new album in Sept, and did a 21 show tour ending in November 2024. If you want to gain some insight into one of the sources of musical genius that was Pink Floyd, watch this video by David on the making of his new album "Luck and Strange": th-cam.com/video/EckHimWp9NI/w-d-xo.html ( David Gilmour - The Making of Luck and Strange ) Starting at time 17:00 you will see David's comments on how he prefers to work with a group, and contrast that with working with someone who progressively became more and more of a tyrant (i.e. Roger) - and you will understand better why the band had the split.... Here is a composite of one of the songs from David's recent tour, and the woman singing beside him is his Daughter Romany: th-cam.com/video/SOKlfW3ABtA/w-d-xo.html ( David Gilmour - The Piper's Call Live Around The World ) He did songs from the new album and many Pink Floyd songs as well, such as Wish You Were Here, Great Gig in the Sky, High Hopes. Comfortably Numb, and so on... Not bad for being 78 years young. As to recommendations for your reactions: th-cam.com/video/84Tq-eAJIk4/w-d-xo.html ( Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (PULSE Restored & Re-Edited) ) th-cam.com/video/4oK1Jco6JFM/w-d-xo.html ( Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5 & 7) [PULSE Restored & Re-Edited] ) th-cam.com/video/6jF6lStgXTI/w-d-xo.html ( David Gilmour - High Hopes (Live In Gdańsk) ) the first two are from the album after Dark Side of the Moon, called Wish You Were Here. And the last one is from an album much later than when Roger left, called The Division Bell. High Hopes was also in the PULSE concert, but the ending guitar solo is omitted and this one from Gdansk is superior, having a complete string section of the Polish Orchestra and David's slide guitar solo plus his heavenly acoustic outro which will give you goosebumps or tears.
Nice reaction! This is one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs, along with Wish You Were Here (th-cam.com/video/84Tq-eAJIk4/w-d-xo.html). The lyrics evoke such sadness about the state of humanity and our willingness to turn a blind eye to those in need, but the music is hopeful. And the guitar solo is just nuts. On headphones/earbuds, figure out if you prefer in-ear monitors or over-the-ear headphones, and just how much you can afford to spend. This is an area where money buys quality, and comfort is really important. I use Mackie MP-220 wired in ear monitors for performing; they were about $150USD and sound good, especially with the dual-driver to handle the bass. For headphones, you can trust Elizabeth's (The Charismatic Voice) recommendation of Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro Open-back Studio Reference Headphones, which will set you back about $500USD. Technical note: your mic was panned full left, and was picking up a lot of table/boom noise; the music vid was centered.
Ear buds work on Bluetooth, which is a radio frequency they are just beginning to understand is bad for your brain, being in such close proximity in your ears. Headphones come in all shapes, sizes and prices. I have a pair of AUDIO-TECHNICA which do the job well enough for me and cost about $175. There are plenty of hi-fi channels that look into headphones, so a little research could pay off for you. Happy listening.
Maybe a small improvement is using a microphone that is not on your desk. We hear so much low contact noise of it constantly wobbling about. It would add to the quality of the videos since it's now a distraction.😉
On the subject of earbuds/headphones, do your homework. Prices range from cheap to thousands of dollars both for earbuds and headphones. Expensive is not always better if 'your ears' can't distinguish the difference. Closed back are good if you are out in public and don't want to disturb others with your music. I find that, to me, it seems like I'm in a barrel. I prefer open back as I only use them at home. I think it gives a more 'normal' listening experience. There are two types of technology in headphone construction. Cone and coil, like a small speaker, and planar. They say planar is more responsive but also more expensive. There are infinite choices and each person has their favorite. Your goal is to find what works and feels best for you at the price you are comfortable paying. If you have a storefront in your area where you can try different styles and manufacturers, that is best. I personally use Hifiman Sundara open backs with a Dragonfly Colbalt inline amplifier on my laptop. Away from home with my laptop or tablet, I use Master & Dynamic bluetooth earbuds. Good luck in your search.
Just so you know, the audio for the music-video was coming out of both sides of my headphones, but your voice-audio from your mic when you were talking was only coming out of the left side of my earphones. Your audio-settings for sharing videos seems to be great, but settings for your mic aren't giving the same stereo sound as your shared-video settings are. Also, you'll find that most headphones will give you a better listening experience than earbuds do.
I once read that Pink Floyd came up with the idea of the light shows during their concerts, because they feared the audience might get bored by the songs with the long solos! 😂
DO NOT get cordless headphones! As with cordless ear buds, the radio frequencies are bad for your brain! Really. FYI with corded headphones, the corded side goes to your left ear.
Lots of flutter coming from your mic, something (breath?) knocking against it. Also, very little sound from the right audio channel; the video came out well balanced so something to do with the mic setup. Sorry, this is meant only as constructive criticism so you can improve what is already very good!
I saw that tour 4 times and the next 5 times and the Hollywood Bowl 3 nights. 12 wonderful shows that I will always treasure! Love Gilmour

If you like reflections on the world at large, a couple of options for the songs "High Hopes" and "Sorrow":

Also, a couple of links to slightly differing studio / album versions:
- th-cam.com/video/7jMlFXouPk8/w-d-xo.html ["High Hopes" OMV; without telephone audio at end]
- th-cam.com/video/lku1fP-LszI/w-d-xo.html ["High Hopes" audio only; WITH telephone audio at end]
- th-cam.com/video/nPM-QSCnNas/w-d-xo.html ["Sorrow" audio only; 1987 mix]
- th-cam.com/video/l_LbAz9Dn_w/w-d-xo.html ["Sorrow" audio only; 2019 remix*]
* The whole album "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" was remixed in 2019 because DG and Nick Mason weren't happy with some of the original recording and mixing choices. 😲😃
Whatever you decide to react to, happy listening / watching.
Watch pink Floyd pulse concert take it back the most underated song but its great
Hi, great song and good react, I suggest you also "high hopes" always Pulse live tour. Bye and happy new year from Italy 🤭😄
Thank you. Happy New Year from Oz 🇦🇺
You should react to Sorrow, Pulse version. Thank u from Spain ;)
Great reaction thanks greetings from Island... Listen to "" FEAR OF THE DARK BY IRON MAIDEN LIVE ROCK N RÍO VERSION "" "🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
If you want to gain some insight into one of the sources of musical genius that was Pink Floyd, watch this video by David on the making of his new album "Luck and Strange":
th-cam.com/video/EckHimWp9NI/w-d-xo.html ( David Gilmour - The Making of Luck and Strange )
Starting at time 17:00 you will see David's comments on how he prefers to work with a group, and contrast that with working with someone who progressively became more and more of a tyrant (i.e. Roger) - and you will understand better why the band had the split....
Here is a composite of one of the songs from David's recent tour, and the woman singing beside him is his Daughter Romany:
th-cam.com/video/SOKlfW3ABtA/w-d-xo.html ( David Gilmour - The Piper's Call Live Around The World ) He did songs from the new album and many Pink Floyd songs as well, such as Wish You Were Here, Great Gig in the Sky, High Hopes. Comfortably Numb, and so on... Not bad for being 78 years young.
As to recommendations for your reactions:
th-cam.com/video/84Tq-eAJIk4/w-d-xo.html ( Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (PULSE Restored & Re-Edited) )
th-cam.com/video/4oK1Jco6JFM/w-d-xo.html ( Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5 & 7) [PULSE Restored & Re-Edited] )
th-cam.com/video/6jF6lStgXTI/w-d-xo.html ( David Gilmour - High Hopes (Live In Gdańsk) )
the first two are from the album after Dark Side of the Moon, called Wish You Were Here.
Have you done ' One Of These Days' from Pulse yet ? Very good as well
Nice reaction!
Ah thank you. I'm still figuring out that mic. I will look into your recommendations. I really appreciate all that information. 🙏
Thanks
Ramon please reaction We Are The World Indonesia various Artists.
Maybe a small improvement is using a microphone that is not on your desk. We hear so much low contact noise of it constantly wobbling about. It would add to the quality of the videos since it's now a distraction.😉
Great suggestions thanks
Headphones - you can’t go wrong with Sennheiser. But maybe stay away from the HE-1 model…… 😉
Thank you. That was really helpful. Cheers for the education. I did learn something! 🍻
Thank you. That was really helpful.
This is helpful. Thanks
I would recommend less botox and a quality hair conditioner.
