In this landmark film, passion and tragedy collide on a military base as a fateful day in December 1941 draws near. Wish they would make movies like this again!
Octogenarian here. I saw this over sixty years ago. Liked it then and like it even more today. Back then movies left much to the viewers imagination. Today's movies are supposedly better. Really?
It's a crime they both didn't win Oscars for these performances. Neither was ever better.

When you see a beautiful woman even if she's married not being treated right by her husband. Her being neglected is not right. I would fall in Love with her and Im married also, but in a unhappy relationship. Yes it happens to husbands too Ladies ❤️.

I’ve watched Burt Lancaster perform in a lot of movies and there’s no question he was a very talented actor. But even so, I’ve never been able to shake the feeling that there’s something about him that was creepy. I can’t really say exactly what but it’s always there whenever I watch him perform. A kind of icky vibe. A very odd guy.
I understand. Attractive man but has a bit of a predatory vibe.

Watch him in the movie "The Swimmer", he plays creepy perfectly. Not sure I think he is creepy in this movie. I love "From here to Eternity", not a bad scene or actor in the whole movie.

although.. he did play a few creepy characgters too. That one where he was a clegyman and one where he wa a very odd cowboy I recall.

She was considered, this is Deborah Kerr's role. I just can see Joan Crawford playing Karen.
