    It sounds surprisingly much better than other foldable keyboards that have been reviewed here on YT. Interesting! Thank you for the review!

      That's because this is the upgraded version PJ88D. You can tell by the sockets in the back. This one has a much better set up for sockets and a separate power and midi socket. (Phew!) Also they've improved the speakers and put a headphone jack on the front. The PJ88D is far superior to its older version.

    That one tune was from Castlevania! Also this keyboard looks like a great bargain. $220 is less than what I expected.

    • @MattiasHolmgren

      Congrats! Indeed it's from Castlevania, the best song ever composed! Love it so much! Did you also crack the intro tune (and band)? Yeah the price for what you get is insane. The onboard sounds are a bit meh, but for general practise (not recording) and for beginners it's gonna be a great starter. Easy to hook up with bluetooth midi to an iPad for example.
      I always wanted an 88 keys Fatar but didn't want it to eat up my whole room. 😂

    • @isomatic

      Yea that song is incredible! I love it too! The intro song sounds familiar but I don't know the name and band.
      Right, it's such a great value even to use as an 88 key midi keyboard, and yup great for practicing. It looks great for street performing too and at least where I play at the drunk college kids wouldn't mind the sound lol.
      Yea the connectivity is great, and the onboard battery. I'll probably get one someday.
      Haha right same! The compact size is so good, takes up much less space.

    • @MattiasHolmgren

      Intro song is my interpretation of ”Wait for sleep” by Dream Theater (Kevin Moore). I played it from memory so rhythm is not exactly like original. But I love the melody so much 😄👌🥁
      Haha yeah but the speaker sound isn’t too bad. Just my old ears that’s very sensitive to harsh 1.5-4 khz sounds 😂 college kids probably don’t give a… 🎉🏕️

    Are the piano sounds good enough to gig through a speaker? Small gigs… restaurants, hotels etc.

    • @MattiasHolmgren

      Yes but I would rely on external speaker system, and not the OYAYO internal speaker for such gigs. ;) The internal speakers get harsh quite fast. Though I personally connect it to a laptop with Pianoverse or Logic Pro pianos (which are really great).

    How do you feel the sensitivity-velocity in this keyboard?

    • @MattiasHolmgren

      As I mentioned in the video it's not as light-played as my other midi keyboards. It's quity heavy on the keys. But after a while I got kinda used to it.

    Well, I bought this piano and compared it with the Vangoa 88. The Oyaya has a much better sound, so I bought this one. Yet, its playing is not optimal as the keys are a bit smaller than a normal piano (which is also the case with the Vangoa), but the semi weight keys simply do not work as I had expected. You may get three different touches (soft, medium, hard) but the refinement is not optimal unfortunately. I bought this one so I can play in my caravan, and that works, but playing more complex classical pieces is quite a challenge. So, it does the job, but...

    • @MattiasHolmgren

      Yeah you get what you pay for in this case. I also feel the key response is not the very best. But it's 88 keys, portable and playable and bang for the buck for these features. I have it in the living room to play on when the kids are asleep and I can't play my acoustic 88 keys upright. ;)

    Love this, Mattias. Any thoughts on the Roli MPE keyboards? I am thinking about getting a couple. Not sure yet.

    • @MattiasHolmgren

      Hi Mike. The Expressive E Osmose is wonderful IMHO and it’s been a pleasure talking to them at trade shows and collaborating with them. It’s also super easy to use its MPE functionalities with DAWs and make internal adjustments and finetunings.
      I’m a piano player and to me it was quite natural to get going with Osmose and also get good sounds out of it.
      I have very ”small” thoughts on the company with the R, their marketing dep. sent me a very non-ethical collaboration agreement a few years back. And I played the Seaboard in a music store and didn’t like the feel at all. So 🤷‍♂️ no further comments.

    Hi Mattias! After watching your review yesterday, I looked for this particular model here in the EU , but it does not seem available. They only sell another model with the crappy speakers at the back. To get your particular model from the US, one has to pay a hefty fee of nearly $160 for shipping and import duties. That pushes the total price to $380!!! YIKES! 😮

      @MattiasHolmgren I have to explain my purpose. I am contemplating starting the piano. Not sure yet. So, I was looking for something inexpensive enough but decent enough that would allow me to start with the basics until i can decide whether playing the piano is my cup of tea or not. In the affirmative I would then buy something more adequate.

      Found it. Funny, it did not show up when I looked first. The price is EUR 250. Not ideal but better than nothing. I'll give it a thought or two before I go ahead. I was fixed on an 88-key, but maybe a 61 will be enough for starters (?)
