The hilux has been left behind in terms of safety features and technology but the base frame of the car is really strong and sturdy. Dunno why toyota hasn't been listening to its consumers despite the fact that they are number 1 japanese brand seller

This remind me when they tried the moose test. And the Toyota was the only truck that failed by rolling over.
The moose test was rigged, watch it a few times you will see.
It did not roll over, but it got on 2 wheels. It was the earlier generation Mercedes A series that rolled over in the test.

Not really, the Hilux is an evolution of the Toyota Pick-up from the 60s. The Tundra and Tacoma came way later.
