Suggesting that you can't move from friends to dating (or from dating to friends) is just silly. That said, it's not okay to expect someone to start dating you just because you're their friend - that's super shitty - but as long as both people are on the same page, I know tons of people who were friends with their partners and then started dating. IMO it can be a way to build a really solid relationship because you aren't just there for the romance/lust/whatever, you actually really know them as a person before you get to any of those things.
I think they should stay as friends cause if they date and breakup then there friendship is over. I don’t really believe in that you can still be friends with your ex. I don’t believe in that.
