I hope you don't spread your nonchalant uncommitted attitude to the next generation.
@@carlathomas5807I think you may be confusing 'nonchalance' with 'acceptance' of situations AFTER all the hard work, marriage counselling if available, disillusionment as dreams have been shattered, guilt, shame and grief for oneself, and one's children, and the heartache and hardship of difficult decisions, etc. Unhappy parents do not raise emotionally secure children. Most children are not fooled by parents pretending to live as a couple 'for the sake of the kids'. There are many instances where the child/ children are better off with the parents separating, due to the marriage being an irreparably unhealthy relationship. Everyone suffers when a dysfunctional marriage is the foundation of the family. In addition, the role modelling is harmful to children in shaping unhealthy attitudes towards relationships that determine their future relationships. Many children get to spend more quality time with their fathers when separated, and care is divided between the parents, than when living with them constantly as a dysfunctional family. My siblings, and I wish our mother ended the relationship with our father sooner, to save us all years of trauma. My child thanked me for leaving their father. They could see for themselves how damaging it would have been to stay together. I wrote my own wedding vows and didn't break them. In my own mind I promised I would support my ex-husband when his parents died, and support him dying, should he die before me, which was more likely. I did all of that to the best of my ability. My child's father died of ALS last Christmas. My point is that every situation is different, and most parents will do what is in the best interests for their child, as parenting instincts are typically innate, and strong. Unless they overide their natural instincts due to being indoctrinated to stay in harmful marriages, and have social pressure with their community associating the end of a marriage with shame, guilt and failure, as my poor mother was led to believe. Ultimately, we don't know what goes on in the privacy of people's homes behind closed doors, unless they choose to share it with us. So it is not for us to judge others' marriage, or decide what is best for them and their children. There is no one best way for all spouses, or all children. It depends on so many factors.
This was so sweet! And, to let you know, my whole family saw this episode back in the day. My mother, sisters and I loved the Newlyweds show. We watched everyday and we're so surprised and happy to see black and white married couple being aired. May the Lord continue to bless you both and your marriage! I was so happy for you then and now!!! 🤗🥰🙏💕
Glad the marriage is still going strong 46 years later--even if Mike's great hair didn't make it that far. From someone also in a mixed marriage that still has a good way to go to get to 46 years, you inspire me to think we can make it. Even in this day and age, being a mixed couple is not always as easy as it should be, but it's worth it. I can see these two feel the same.

God forbade interracial marriage (Ezra & Nehemiah) and was a felony in most States until USSC oberturned Loving v. Virginia... Edomite (Jew) quote - “We must realize that our party’s most powerful weapon is racial tension by propounding into the consciousness of the dark races that for centuries they have been oppressed by the whites. We can mold them to the program of the communist party. In America we will aim for subtle victory while inflaming the negro minority against the whites. We will instill into the whites a guilt complex for their exploitation of the negro. We will aid the negro’s rise to prominence in every walk of life, in the professions and in the world of sports and entertainment. With this prestige, the negro will be able to intermarry with the whites and will begin a process which will deliver America into our cause.” Israel Cohen - head of the communist party in England “A Racial Program For The Twentieth Century” (1912) Congressional Record, Vol. 103, p. 8559, June 7, 1957.

Your marriage, not only lasting all these years, but thriving is proof that you are a winning team outside of the game show. Blessings❤❤❤
Too cute!!! Adorable then and now!!❤
💯 & adorable 👫
This was so sweet! And, to let you know, my whole family saw this episode back in the day. My mother, sisters and I loved the Newlyweds show. We watched everyday and we're so surprised and happy to see black and white married couple being aired. And, to come full circle seeing you both blow up on social media by share your younger years together and now your later year. Just absolutely fabulous!! May the Lord continue to bless you both and your marriage! I was so happy for you then and now!!! 🤗🥰🙏💕
Congratulations on 46 years of togetherness! Beautiful couple!
“I was READY!” 😂 Cuteness overload! 😍
😜😂❤️
Glad the marriage is still going strong 46 years later--even if Mike's great hair didn't make it that far. From someone also in a mixed marriage that still has a good way to go to get to 46 years, you inspire me to think we can make it. Even in this day and age, being a mixed couple is not always as easy as it should be, but it's worth it. I can see these two feel the same.
Yes. You hold tight to one another, and do what you did to get each other! Remember? 😉🤗
They’re as adorable today as they were back then! Congratulations on many happy decades together..❤
My parents were married 42 years and my mom is still married to my dad 11 years after he died.. and I remember watching the newlywed game as a child...how embarrassing it was, lol....but WOW....this is the cutest thing I've seen in a long long time. Thank you!!
I'm smiling so big my face hurts! They are such a inspiration! I love them!😊
I was smiling too
They have the head tilt towards one another...❤
How wonderful to see that you too were on The Newlywed Game!
Jeri, Mike was a FINE young man. 🙃👩🏽🦱🇺🇸
I agree ☺️. And she was and still is gorgeous!
🗣️ Congratulations on 46 Years Married, such a blessing!💜 Thanks for sharing your Newlywed Game participation. It was fun watching.
I remember watching Newlywed Game on television with my family as children we would guess who would win. Lolol
What a rare marriage. 46 years!!!! Amazing.
Rare??
It’s rare I see a couple this close after the honeymoon period. Good for them for keeping the spark alive.
What?😂😂😂😂😂
Those two’s personalities match so well, they were meant for each other. God bless their marriage
"Two's"? Where did you go to school?
Many people today, 2024, can learn something through this couples experience. Congratulations🤷🏼💐🌹
To have this kind of everlasting love is admirable. I can only dream. This was fun to watch what an adorable loving couple. God please bless them with many more years together.
Yes they are so a blessing,💙❤
Amen 🙏🏾 ❤
This is wonderful. Forty six years later you guys are doing exceptionally well.
You might have not won the first prize on the game but you hit the jackpot with your marriage 👍🏼 46 years together is awesome. Congratulations to both of you 🙌🏼
I thought she was gonna say: "I wonder if that couple is still married like we are." So cute. 😊
This is a lasting legacy for the grandchildren. They can see you in years to cone as young people❤😊
This was just so wholesome. What a sweet couple you two are.
I smiled all the way through this! You two are pure gold! All I see is LOVE ❤️
I loved those shows back then. So sweet to see you both still together! ❤
She is the cutest!!! What a lovely couple, congratulations on all of those years of marriage!
I do not consider myself a romantic guy but when this couple really touched me, they are as jovial as ever, i really wish them to be happily ever after.
They are so precious together! What an inspiration and breath of fresh air, considering how many marriages don't make it. I hope they have many more years together.❤❤❤
Beautiful clip and an even better memory. So nice you have it available to watch again and again. God bless you both!
Proof that laughing with (and at) each other is the key ingredient :)
Loved the "we don't even sleep comfortable. We can't woopy comfortable" followed by them still laughing today.
Absolutely.
I thought she said "we can whoopy comfortable" tho. That took me out😂
I take so much pride in the fact that my wife and I have been together 23 years… but then I see couples like this and I’m sincerely humbled.
Much respect to these folks.
You guys may not have gotten the grand prize but you are definitely winners in life! Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary, that is amazing! This was super cute to reminisce with you. 🥰
Jeri and Mike know one another a lot better now. 💞
Adorable! To be watching that TV appearance together 46 years later is just amazing. It's obvious to see the love between you both. Fabulous!
This is so beautiful. Their love is color blind. Years later they still look at each other like their relationship is still new.
We just celebrated our 40th anniversary, and the advice we always give is to communicate, communicate, COMMUNICATE! Humor goes a long way, too.
Congratulations! We coming up on 45 years.
I had a ex that said I'm not your mother when I said why didn't you want to communicate issues in the relationship. Seems to be a common modern problem not sure why healthy communication somehow means that to a woman.
That was so heartwarming to watch. I'm still smiling even as I type this. You were and still are, such a beautiful couple ❤
That's one of the best things I have watched on TH-cam. Thank you very much for sharing.
This is back when couples valued relationships and marriage. So happy for this coupl, they have such a rare gift of true love and happiness. 💛
True. I feel today everyone is so self-centered. They want someone to fit right into their lives with no flexibility. It's my way or the high way.
Truth ❤
I was born in the wrong decade.
46 years what a blessing…. I see the love in them then and now ❤❤❤
Jeri & Mike I’m so glad that I found this video by accident. You 2 are adorable 🥰 it’s wonderful to see such beautiful love last!!
That is awesome you have been together so long. My parents have been together since 10 th grade of high school and they are in their 70s now❤ ,hope to see more newlywed shows. Thank you ❤😊
