Yo, what an amazing display of strategic thinking! I usually don't survive prestige 20, but you make it seem like a joke.

Thank you very much! It's just about understanding the game mechanics. Don't get discouraged, I have over 500 hours in the game. Having all the citadel upgrades unlocked is also a big advantage.
Try unlocking deeds and playing some dailies. They put you in situations where you have to learn more about the game mechanics and explore different strategies.
If you need specific advice, want to suggest ideas for future videos, or have general feedback to help improve my content, feel free to leave another comment!

I thought you took the building that makes Tools? Did you have a recipe for the bars I forget? Could have mined the copper ore if you did. Really cool gameplay keep the videos coming cheers bro!

Cheers! Yeah, I was already getting ready using the Smithy to craft tools, but since I got the Scorpion as my archaeology discovery, I decided to earn the last few points of reputation through resolve instead. With all species gaining reputation through resolve at the end, I gave up opening one more glade for a couple of extra reputation points from events.
If I hadn't have a way to reach the threshold with humans I would probably still crafting tools and open a glade or 2.
      Thanks for watching!

Not only it was fast but you also kept Hostility below 2 for the whole game. I need to learn these tactics.

Wood is the only resource in the game that cannot be produced through alternative methods, it only comes from woodcutting. I recommend gathering as much wood as possible in the early game and use to coal, marrow, or oil for fuel as soon as you can, in a way you don't have to use woodcutters and raise hostility later on. In normal mode you don't need that much fuel because of all the citadel upgrades, and don't trash too much wood making purging fire. Just make sure you have enough for housing and decos to upgrade your hearth.
"Speedrunners" focus on optimizing woodcutting to achieve consistent 3-year wins by maximizing efficiency (They would move a woodcutter camp after every cycle to reset the time and teleport goods), but their games can range from 1 to 4 hours to max efficency. While I admire their level of skills as a true display of strategy, I prefer sticking to the intended game design, which allows me to enjoy regular Year 4-5 victories without overcomplicating the process. I've never really watched their videos so I don't know about all their strategies tho, the min/max on woodcutting it's discouraging to me.

You are right, I should probably employ my villagers better, specially in the early game. I have a bad tendency to want to fill as many empty producing buildings at once, and just keep the two woodcutters running the whole game.

You need around 200 units of wood for shelters and decos (9 to 11 shelters x 15 wood | 4 parks), plus the wood you would use from plank production if you cannot buy it from traders or pick it as embarkation bonus, plus wood for 1-3 camps (15 to 45)
Edit: Honestly, sometimes I wish you could assign villagers to houses. I’d leave species that aren’t contributing to reputation or already have high enough resolve without housing.

You kinda can, but it is finicky. I believe if you keep disabling and enabling the house slot you might be able to at least select what species you want housed.

@@lChronosl93 Yeah, I know that, but it looks so boring to do! Haha.
      Thanks for the tip! 😊

Ohh, high level BtS comtent. Any chance of getting higher res video? 720p is a bit difficult to watch.

I still don't understand how people manage to beat the game in so few years. Takes me 6-8 years in p15 or so. Wish there were some guides on pushing earlier wins

The game is RNG-based, so there isn’t a specific strategy for resources. However, in general, you should aim to start producing reputation through resolve with your species majority starting in the second year. Resolve as many events as possible on the right side (get reputation) while managing impatience by calling traders early or attacking them to balance reputation gains and keep hostility levels manageable.
