That Kyber Crystal is a reference to the Rakatta. Specifically it was made in commemoration of the Rakatta invasion.

Really hope that means we'll get to see some reference to the Starforge. Heck maybe even the wreckage of it in canon now. That's gotta be my favorite superweapon in starwars. Heck that would explain Exogal, if palps had pieces of the Starforged brought there. All he needs to do is sit around farting and the Starforge would rebuild itself from his darkside presence.

While there is a lot of focus on Lothal in Rebels, it's only really significant in Seasons 1 and 4. Seasons 2 and 3 rarely visit Lothal.

I don’t buy the First Order had the logistics and resources to build Starkiller Base, but then I guess no one guessed Palpatine had a thousand planet killing star destroyers submerged under the sea on Exagol as his grand plan. Geez, what a crock of shite!
The Worldbuilding of the sequel trilogy is between non existent and abysmall.

The mine seen in the first episode of Andor reminded me of the Grasberg mine in West Papua. Grasberg is operated by PT Freeport, a joint venture between the Indonesian Govt and Freeport-McMoran. The mine has been controversial because of land disputes with local tribes and environmental damage.
I think you need to rewatch Rebels, Lothal is only the main location in seasons 1 and the last part of 4. We see several Rebel bases on different planets, including Yavin 4. Not to mention all the other the planets the main crew and main rebel cells travel to for different missions.
I don’t care what anyone says, I prefer the episodes slowly getting better than to start out amazing and then slowly get more trash.

Tbh I didn't care for Star Wars Rebels, but it's a decent source for info about early Rebel stuff.
I did not enjoy it when it came out, but have had a better appreciation my ongoing second watching.

Just made me think, you know who would be the PERFECT cameo for Mon Mothmas Ally? A "defecting" ISB agent named Gideon. We know they're gunna be betrayed and what better way for him to earn his "Moff" status then to infiltrate and take down a rebel cell?

As someone new to SW, Andor is making me want to understand more about this universe but I can’t really go back and watch all the movies and animated series ahead of these episodes 😂. Would you also consider doing a primer on the chain of command in the empire? I’ve watched Mandalorian and parts of Kenobi, so I know there’s different types and kinds of commanders but I don’t understand who is more powerful than another or who is outside the org all together (I’m guessing the Inquisitors in Kenobi and the corporate cops in Andor are examples of enforcement agents who were adjacent but not part of the emperial command?)
Alan, do you think the Republic and the Empire solely control the galaxy alone is a bad idea? I know, I know. The Concert of Europe with its many nations during the 19th century caused a lot of problems that lead up to World War I and World War II. But hey, one thing they got right is the local administration of each member of the Great Powers seemed to function just fine.

What I want to know is what do they call the years in Universe? Obviously not how we know it as the battle of Yavin hadn't happened yet!
I get it'd be difficult to do in live action (with Luke, Han, and Leia having to be cgi monsters, recast, or not included) but I wish disney would cover the years between Hope and Empire and between Empire and Jedi. Seeing the rebellion build up is cool but it'd be so much more interesting to see it in it's peak.
Incongruent that the Jedi aren't suppised to have attachments to other people but they do have attachments to "holy places".
Ilum becoming Starkiller Base is a slap in the face to *ME* lmao. One of my favorite Legends planets, from the 2003 CW show and SWTOR being turned into one of the stupidest things of the stupid sequel trilogy. Sigh.
I'm hoping the Star Destroyer we see in the Andor trailer is the Chimera, Thrawn loves Indigenous Cultures and would use the excuse of personally transporting an important Imp to Aldani just to witness the Eye
I never understood why a space age cilvilsation like the Star Wars galaxy even bothered with on-planet mineral mining in the first place. You'd think it would be easier and cheaper to mine asteroids, not to mention you don't have to worry about farmers being pissed you took their land if said "land" is just floating space rocks. There should be several Death Stars worth of iron alone in nearly every solar system. Going through the hassle of mining on-planet when you have the tech Star Wars does just seems wasteful and idiotic.

The biggest problem in the galaxy was that the benevolent Emperor Palpatine was too nice to the people.
His kindness was taken advantage of by power hungry senators like Mon Mothma and by terrorist groups created by Bale Organa .
Emperor Palpatine really should have been more strict and had such traitorous beings dealt with .

@@garnetmatchett4244 sure but resistance to the Empire is currently operating in cells; there’s no guarantee Bail and Mon Mothma are of the same faction, ideology, or want to work with one another or are affiliated with boots on the ground who cooperate well with one another… LOTS to unpack dramatically, narratively, thematically
I’d argue having (2) senators cooperating in one/joint cells only endangers each of them more
Mothma and organa have been part of a secret council that included amidala since before order 66 based on the chancellors increasing non democratic legislation. It'd be weird to me that she would start this without organa to begin with but I suppose it wouldn't be too unheard of that organa and mothma started their efforts separately and joined forces later.
How come they didn't have that many aliens in the rebellion.

People need to watch The Rebels, it's very important for everything that's Disney is working now. A lot of people didn't even know about the dark sabre when appeared in the last episode of the mandalorian in the first season, that's telling a lot = they didn't want animated series, many didn't watch Clone Wars and if they were they didn't watch the way it supposed to be watched because the episodes are mixed up and there's a order how needs to be watched and people didn't know that, they just watched S01E01, E02 and so on... And their comments are always yeah its good but storytelling is confusing, but watched in the proper order gives you great storytelling and deep perspective about SW universe. So I can only imagine it people didn't watched CW, Rebels aren't watched for sure. I can't imagine that someone watched Rebels and didn't CW for example, watching rebels is naturally came after the CW because you used to watch animated series and after you realized how much expanded view you get after the CW, you get hungry for more and rebels delivers it.
So people if you didn't watch The Clone Wars animated series, go now find the list how to watch in the proper order and after that The Rebels is a must watch. After those two you will be able to watch and enjoy in the SW projects and a great knowledge lies in those two.
One of the things I think is sort of a shame is how Tarkin went from being a man so intimidating even Vader backed down from him to being a psychopathic idiot and boot licker who has no tactical sense and whose lack of wisdom likely doomed the Empire. I feel like he could have been better used and developed.
That’s just Tarkin getting old I guess.
