- in this lesson, we are going to model and analyze a nonlinear semi-rigid steel bolted beam and column connection using Abaqus.
the connection type: extended end plate connection
we are going to perform the following steps:
- creating the column beam plate and bolt parts
- defining nonlinear material properties
- assembly the elements
- define the interaction between elements
- meshing the elements
- define the steps
- check and submit for analyze

Ehsan Tutorials i have seen , but i mean cover plate and beam flange and shear plate connection to column flange by welded ,only use bolt for connection shear plate and beam web , and use cyclic loading for analysis, and what is properties materials for beam and column if use steel grade Q235B ?, and what is properties materials for bolt grade 10.9 ? If you can help me, thank you very much!

Sorry, but it is a mistake to apply the bolt pretension forces at the same time as the point load is applied. When the point load value is half, for example, the bolt pretension forces are also half their values. This is never what happens in reality.
