- I've checked out the latest 208 and now it's time to test the UK's Best-selling Supermini - New Corsa. Have Vauxhall done enough to maintain this small cars top spot?

When did cars get so much, £19k for a 75hp Corsa!! Less than 10 years ago I thought my top spec fiesta was expensive at £17k
When people got duped into “buying” cars on PCP
You can by the base model for under £15.00 massive discounts on the corsa. So you don’t pay anything like list price
All about emissions and making money trying to drive people away from driving.
@@crowthorne1where are these prices?
17k still too expensive tbh.
Another great review Tish! I think these drive pretty well for what they are and even with only 100bhp it's a torquey little engine and suits it well. All hail small cars whilst we still can 😅 you're looking lovely as well 😇
I only watch these videos coz of the legs!!! Nice job!!
The Corsa looks nice enough (I guess), but the price is a bit steep compared to others of that size. You (on the other hand), look smashing in that outfit! Perhaps have a poster made of yourself in that, Tish? (p.s. - I'd buy one for sure!) ❤
yes please also cover the updated electric model as well, since the gov are trying to price us out of cars that do combustion in the future, it would be handy to find a cheaper run around
Certainly will, maybe I can think of a challenge to do with it? How about maybe testing both the old and new model and seeing what their actual ranges are?
@@AutoSocialUK brilliant idea
@@AutoSocialUK Sounds good
Clicked on this by accident, but stayed with it because it's a great review. Glad Vauxhall have kept a petrol only variant in the range. If you just want a no nonsense runabout, don't have allocated parking or access to a home charger, and don't want the hassle of using public chargers, then this would still be the best option. And for longer journeys, you don't have to worry about range anxiety. For those of us with busy lives who want a car we don't really have to think about very much, the new Corsa is perfect. I think it's great.
I am still a Petrol man so I appreciate your reviews on these models I now think of the two recent ones I would go for the Clio 😊
Lovely nylons❤❤❤
Here in Germany the model called Corsa......19.000,- Euro for the Basic....is very much to expensive..die
not affordable.....greetings to our english cousins....we have the same problems...
A very informative review your comments are useful. Personally, I felt that the previous Corsa had a classier design than the current 208, but in this guise, it's bland and grim looking, and reminds of the new boxy 2024 Citroen C3. I'd take the Clio or Peugeot 208 than the updated Corsa.
Thanks for sharing!
can a girl not review a car and not get any weird comments ? (obviously not) 🤣
really informative though , looking to go from one tiny hatchback to a bigger but still on the small side car so this is top of my list !
They have just gone and ruined the front of the Corsa. It looks unfinished like it's still at concept stage being worked on and so dull. The pre revamp front is so much nicer.
There are no GOOD new cars.
New Clio is a nice car 🚗
By the time the car has a 1.2 engine with enough power (130ps) its £30k. This is a massive price for a small car with a budget design and feel. No chance id buy, even used.
Pure tec engines are awful friends wetbelt snapped at 16000 miles
Are they still using that PureTech engine that is the question? and if so no thanks it has a long history of problems.
Why oh why did they think it was a good idea to use a wet belt system. A rubber belt running through hot oil.
Yes. Love small, affordable, maybe even MANUAL cars 😍
Please please please...guys do a big research before you buy any car with 1.2 puretech engine that runs with wetbelt. Bought a grandland x last month with only 20k miles and now engine fault and towed into garage. Till now they couldn't find out whats wrong. Thinking wet belt degradation went inside engine. Now fighting with them for car replacement. Please dont buy any car with puretech engine. Also warning be careful with ford ecoboost engine aswell
Vauxhalls are so boring and are scrap after 10 years. So many better cars out there. Avoid this garbage at all costs.
I've seen these engines fail at 20000 miles because the oil pick up gets blocked. The rubber wet belt cracks then it can starve the engine of oil. Can be very expensive to fix and require a engine rebuild, so please do your research people!
Is this on Corsas or the Peugeot derivative? What is the cause of the pick up getting blocked, is it the belt breaking down?
I would not buy a hybrid. Added complexity will increase the chances of defects and costly repairs. These hybrids on average rather very unreliable. I would go fully petrol or fully electric.
Yet are Vauxhall making all their models look alike
Have their design department run out of ideas or talent?. And yes yet another piano black front grill that in months will look swirly scratched and horrid.. hate them, and going rapidly of Vauxhall's too.
Thank you - just the video I was looking for.
We have one small car and one hatchback. Small cars are great for local town driving, city centres and for parking. Makes navigation really easy, we will miss them as EV cars are massive, heavy and difficult for our small English roads.
So you just said it not very good on poor surfaces as most British towns and cities have extremely bad pot hole ridden road then the abilityvto deal with poor surfaces has to be top, ifvthe list let's forget nurburg ring flat roads we need cars th deal with cart tracks in the uk .
My corsa sting was around £9k with £250 deposit and £174pcm 7yrs ago crazy prices now😢
Crazy and I think that might have even been quite a high monthly payment at the time! I used to pay £99 for my VW up!
@@AutoSocialUK whattttt?!! £99! But I did have the premium for mileage as I was a community nurse otherwise it would have been capped at 6k. I still have the same Corsa little beastie has done me good over the years, very minor issues and hasn’t broken the bank.
Only flaws is that it’s a bit of a donkey up hills and it has no air con 🥹
Another good video, really enjoyed the review, I was looking at the new corsa the other day, I have the corsa griffin, this new GS version is like a step backwards, no rear discs, just drum brakes, no rear tinted windows, no real 10 inch full screen, took away the the heated seats/steering wheel, unless you pay for the top spec car.
The biggest issue people will have is the 1.2litre engine with a wet timing belt. How many miles will it last before you need a very expensive replacement and oil pump clean up. Good video though
Looking great Tish...😊
It looks nice and came on the channel to see what the verdict was against my current Corsa elite premium nav automatic one that you tested in 2019 or 2020
I think they've ruined the front end of the Corsa with this facelift. Not impressed with the looks there. Tish, however.... Now that's a different story 🔥
Great review and looking stunning Tish 😍😍
Hi, Great review on the new face lifted Corsa, still a nice little car. I know at this time EV's and petrol electric are the in thing, but I am a big fan of the petrol engine, always had petrol engine cars in my 34 years of driving never owned or will never buy a diesel car my currant car is a Toyota Avensis 1.8 petrol a good family car. But this car is going to be a good seller I've always like the Corsa. Great video and a good test drive, Take care👍
What’s stopped you from going for a diesel?
Nice skilled drive there Tish and down to earth review
Corsa D was better
Great review and nice car but all Vauxhalls and Peugeots overpriced and residuals not great.
If people don't buy petrol/ diesel motors they'll just become so much scrap!
i like the chrome on my 22 corsa ultimate!!
I bought a 2011 1.4 sxi a few years ago. Its been very good and the only main thing it's needed is an exhaust. Goes well also but good little cars and probably would buy a later one but not electric.
Um, Tiš, the Corsa Hybrid will be a mild hybrid, not a strong hybrid. Same one used in the facelifted 208.
That’s a shame
Its her legs that got me to watch the whole video.
The price has changed... :(
Are these cars good for long distances? Are the engines reliable?
Yes
bought 1 including turbo engine and premium paint 16000 on the road real bargain
Interesting 🤔 I just checked eBay and you can get a 2018 model for £2,995
Purely out of curiosity, what is it about a newer car that makes it worth 5 times as much money as a used car?
@@marcus.HAn old debate. Peace of mind potentially. How was the used car cared for ? Serviced regularly ? Driven hard ? How many miles does the current owner intend putting on the car ? What's the underside corrosion with our British weather done to the car ? Nothing wrong with buying used whatsoever but once something is a couple of grand then be careful
@@robsmall6466 modern cars will comfortably do 150,000 miles. If you pick on up for a fifth of the price with less than 50,000 miles and a full service history you'll have no trouble 🙂 unless it is JLR it will be reliable.
These days you can save 10 grand or more. Who really cares even if you had a breakdown or 2. You'll easily be better off, even in a worse case scenario
@@marcus.H I'd say there are a good few more than just JLR ( I do know one guy locally who isn't happy with them at the moment with suspension issues ). It also depends on who is doing the MOT. Some vehicles on the road should no way have one and yet 🤷♂️. Not saying you can't do what you suggest. Nearly everyone starts that way with their first couple of cars. A reliable car is important for a lot of employers though. All depends on how hard the car is going to be worked and if it's been properly checked over before purchase. Although you can still have problems with new unfortunately
@@robsmall6466 I went to college to be a mechanic. New cars are more likely to break down than old ones. As long as it has a full service history, it's fine. Check underneath to make sure it's not been crashed and take it for an MOT when you first get it. There's a good reason that new cars need a warranty. They break down
Tish, you're a LEGendand❤😅
Hahah thank you 😂😂
Don't bother get a Skoda Fabia.
I do like the Fabia!
She's know how to attract viewers
I remember seeing the promotional artwork and factory photographs for both the Mk8 Astra and Corsa, I was really impressed, and considering trading my Mk7 Astra VX 1.4 T SRI, until I discovered the limp petrol engine options, and then saw the Astra on a forecourt. I couldn't believe how a car in a photograph could look so good, and up close be so disappointing. With their financial commitment to the EV, they've dropped a huge bollock.
I paid 12k for my 68 plate Corsa, it came with heated seats and steering as free. So, not sure why the "new" base model comes in at 19k...A mere 6 years later.
I think I will look at the Dachia Sandero. But I understand that is made by Renault, which I avoid like the plague...
I've got this car and it's great to drive but the phone charger and 12v outlet are rubbish, my phone actually loses charge when it's on it and the 12v won't charge my wife's oxygen machine, I took it to vaxhall and they said its a problem they have had before but there's nothing they can do about it
6:20 i heavily disagree. Did you even try the 130hp version (i have the pre-facelift one)? Its night and day difference on this light car. The 100hp version does 100-150 kmh in around 20s and the 130hp does it in around 11s. Thats freaking 9s difference in acceleration at speeds that most people will drive at.
Vauxhall hired Indians to design this, very similar to a cheap Indian MG, just awful, they've gone so downhill in their car design compared to all the others & no 3 door. Good review video, but stop steering with the gear stick, get that hand on the steering wheel
Is it just me but every time I hear the Corsa referred to as a super mini - I spit my tea out. I have one - it’s massive? It’s the size of an Astra? Can’t understand why we refer to these cars as ‘small’ now, as it’s really misleading.
Ideal for the young working class to start with. Reminds me of my Peugeot 205 Enfant Terrible in my early 20's. Though I payed just €12.000 However, 20yrs later and considering the evolution in technology, the price seems acceptable but the trick for young starter earners is to keep it simple and basic.
I mean, I don’t know what it is, but Vauxhall should have kept diesel if they did a diesel in that that would be unreal. Diesel is good for longer distances and I think they’re stupid to not bring a diesel version out. Diesel is good for pulling so if you’re pulling trailers and stuff like that, if you had a petrol car it’s gonna use more fuel
With that emergency brake demo I really think I saw your whole life flash before my eyes.
Hand brake
@@brianjohnstone394 Yes. It’s also officially called an “emergency brake”.
Saw one when I took my Mokka E for a service. Looks really nice but best to wait a few months and get a used one.
Love your review and your style !
why wouldn't people be interested in small affordable cars?
Re bodied peugeot 208 Stellantis not a fan of french cars
There are a few versions of the infotainment system being deployed it seems as the Astra style full screen (meaning wide Car Play) is available on some units, perhaps the Ultimate spec.
Ive got a design version auto , goes very well with it's 100 bhp engine
Great review. I'm not sure if that front visor suits small cars like this. Peugeot looks way better
Attractive presenter😂
Bigger than early generation Astras ! Let’s just say not for me .
Can you find any Opel cars in UK, or are they all rebranded as Vauxhall?
Years ago we had models like the Opel Manta on sale in the UK. Occasionally I've seen the odd Insignia on UK plates ( early models ) All the current models have the Griffin Vauxhall badge on the front
Looks shite with black badges chrome much nicer
On the exterior i think the car looked better before the facelift
Thank you, still prefer the Peugeot 208
I love your reviews, thanks for the effort. Can't wait to see the Dacia Duster 3, I think you will give a real review of how good or bad it is. Thanks again, keep up the great work 👍🏻
Nice vid tish, but I'm sure the people still want to see the last vxr review 😅x
Naked saleswoman..... lol
@@SunofYork heavens, not shorts WITH a pair of tights!
Another great video but I won’t buy PSA, thanks Tish
Good thing it's not PSA anymore ;)
Great video great watch wll done Hun
loosing diesel was crazy
Wife had a corsa, a century from 0-60. 1.2l was a hell of a lump. Spend a few more quid and get something decent.
Electric Corsa pleeeeaseeee
cheap facelift
Thats one ugly car🙈...design team on holiday?🤔...
What if Vauxhall had to merge with Lotus ?
You would get the Vauxhall VX220 or Lotus Carlton
Up is a non relevant car now discontinued!!
Cannot believe Corsa facelift. Already.
The original was one of the first cars I covered on the channel!!
Any news on the new ASTRA SPORTS TOURER ????
Electric or non electric? ☺️
Would love to see video on electric Corsa
Only if you are an insomniac 😂
I’m not convinced with a lot of these generic car designs now…all starting to look very samey to me Tish. Creativity and expression are being sacrificed in the pursuit of technology and cars are about more than just being a useful tool to use. We have an attachment to cars that goes beyond other forms of technology.
Great review as ever Tish
Nice Very Nice the car O.K. too I guess 😊😊
P.S. I do have one request maybe a video on the 2023 /2024 Mini Cooper Electric please 😊
Errr no thanks we’re not interested in the electric ones please just stick to the petrol ones
You scrub up a whole lot better than Matt Watson!
You are gorgeous Tish! 😍 I'm gonna donate on your page so you can have a tea/coffee on me.
WOW!!! Just.........................just WOW!! Come for a corsa review with Tish and enjoy the tights!!
I have to confess that I'm probably enjoying this video for the wrong reasons, nothing to do with cars, just really admire your look, you have totally nailed it here.
Do you drive barefoot
Nice 👍🙂 interior, not so attractive exterior, really small and affordable. Still don't like it and won't buy it. Love 💕😘 the look today Tish, your a forest fire and I'm a volcano erupting right now.🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋.
Its like the early 80's again with Vauxhall doing better cars than Ford , Peugeot doung a great job with Vauxhall
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. You dressed well for the review as well ❤️🩹
I appreciate that!
more like this = more views. think about it, lady
