    Cute idea with the rope rug but with a cardboard bottom everybody would be sliding in your door, landing on their bottoms.

    love it👍 I' m glad that I'm already using some of these methods. Another good tip is to use lime rather than lemon cause it's more of an effective cleaner, especially with stubborn smells in plates, containers, and pans.

    it might just be my luck, but i paused the video and quickly tried the sink clog trick in the bathroom. 5min later, the old boiling water in the sink is still in the sink and getting colder. But I continued to watch the video and saw the oven grease stain trick. Before I checked the results of the sink, I started this new project to finally clean off my oven stains. It didn't work so I tried it one more time but with a little more baking soda this time. I scrubbed that oven door as hard as I could. 5min later, voila! Yep. You guessed it. ALL the spots are still on the oven door. That oven is NASTY! I need to move.

      How long did you let the vinegar sit on the baking soda oven door. They didn't specify (manythings) but maybe longer wait on vinegar spray on the baking soda before trying to wipe away may have helped. ???

    Man, that toilet bomb was so refreshing. The citric acid made it taste really lemony.

    Maaan... The sponge used for double dipping (cleaning your hands and *then* cleaning the sink) sent shivers through my spine... That's not OCD safe!
    God... and the you have the fungal towel :O...

  • @louisemenard896

    Great video, thanks!
    Just wanted to point out that I think the recipes for the dish washer tabs and the toilet bombs maybe mixed up.
    The toilet bomb one would make more sense without the liquid dishsoap and the dishsoap tabs would make sense to use in the dishwasher - just my take on it.

    Did anyone also notice that the video from 40 seconds thru 1:22, where it shows you how to CLEAN SILVER with a skillet of boiling water, balled up aluminum foil, and baking SODA, will clean your Silver like new. Or that's what they show you in the Beginning/Before cleaning, and then, to the After/End of the video. NOT ONE piece of jewelry WAS USED, well maybe the spoon, was cleaned, but not with this mix they show you. I work with Silver Coins, Silver Rings, and Silver Pendants on Silver Necklaces and the process is called "Pickling" or Cleaning the Silver and if that trick worked, I'd have a lot more money because the compound I use is an acid bath that cleans the silver and it isn't cheap. FYI please don't waist you time. The spoon then it came out of the mix was yellowed and not like the spoon at the end. I'll give you a hint of what I use,
    Sparex #2. It must be #2 because that is for Silver Only.

    The plugged sink trick is exactly what I need.. My bathroom sink is plugged but I haven't used Drano on it yet because my cat just discovered he likes to drink from the tap and the sink itself.. I love that these are pet safe.. (and kid safe if you're into that kind of thing.. )

    If you're in the USA, here's an even smarter way to reuse old towels: offer them to your local animal shelter or ASPCA. They can always use them, but if there aren't any shelters near you, you can also take them to the local veterinarian's office; donations of things like that help them keep their costs as low as possible.

    when cleaning silver using baking soda and aluminum - aluminum reacts with the silver sulfate (tarnish) on the silver, leaving the silver intact (better than polishing-off the tarnish) and attracting the sulfate to form aluminum sulfate. This must take place in a baking soda solution, and because this is a battery-like reaction, it's best for silver to be close to, or in contact with, the aluminum.

    First comment anywhere ever... 1st. You should always namne what ingredients you are using for the LIFE HACK. With my old eyes, Salt and Soda look pretty much the same. 2nd thing I would like to say is... I aprreciate what you are doing here. I love that some of your ideas for things remind me of things that I have used in the distant past. 3rd. A comment on the comment about most people seeing these HACKS. Not only do I know what an iron is, and how to use one properly. I remember my Grandmother heating hers on the stove to use it. :P Sincerely ..Just and old Gentleman born in middle of last century. Keep up the good work.

    • @KatalinGLakat
      @KatalinGLakat 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use vinegar instead of ammonia. Never use ammonia in household: it kills soft tissues, joints, the skin and finger nails absorb it, it is one of the most hazardous poison.
      Vinegar will gently soak off practically everything. Pour baking soda in plastic box, place the items into, empty a bottle of vinegar and let soaking off.

    I just don't get the point of mixing lemon or vinegar with soda, yes it's bubbling, and that's it.
    If you mix an acid and a base, you end up with something neutral, that will be somewhat chemically inert.
    That basically means that there are more efficient ways of mixing household items...

    • @andrewvelonis5940
      @andrewvelonis5940 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      The bubbling is cavitation. There are thousands of tiny bubbles forming and bursting every second. This will loosen up stains.

    Where has the magnetic sponges trick been all my life?! I have given up on so many water bottles over the years due to them being too hard to keep truly clean. Half of them are too tall for the bottle brushes I've found thus far. But this idea would work fabulously. I'll have to go buy more sponges tomorrow as I'm out, but I already have a small collection of super magnets that will work great for this. (Design school tends to lead to an accumulation of many weird supplies. I have everything from high density upholstery foam to super magnets to a sand paper collection with every grit from 80 to 2500.)

    I tried the baking soda and boiling water to clean exhaust filters; it did not work at all. The grease separated from the filters and then got clotted up and trapped at the line where the water reaches the middle of the filter. It created more work than if I had just use "Oil Eater" detergent, and steam like I have been doing it in the past. I hope the other ones are more helpful.

    Next time you're ready to deep clean your house buy all this stuff in bulk. 25 pounds of baking soda, 10 pounds of citric acid, 5 pounds of salt, 4 cases of sponges, 2 pairs of tongs, 8 gallons of vinegar, and 1 ounce of cocaine. Then watch this video, use the last item on the list, and everything else will happen automatically.
