Salute Salute Premmmmmo and Ludacris. To me this production hits different. We needed this and we are getting it. Love this track plus Ludacris kills it. Thank you for both.
Yooo this is what i'm talking about! Love all the stories we get to hear from classic records in the 90s. But highlighting the contemporary stuff is just as fun and refreshing. Especially when its Premo working with people we'd never expect. Another smooth killer. Luda lost his mind on this record.
Lolol. For real. Like back in 90s Question mark Asylum "look away" single...rest of album...sheez Pitch Black may have spent their entire budget on Premo!!! I would have produced the whole album for $150k plus 4 points publishing lol.
@@NetworkBruh lol yeah. It's all real was FIRE. Album was eh. Haven't revisited in years but was Mad disappointed at the time cause primo laced them with fire
Man I highly appreciate the footage that Premo was able to provide for the record. Because I just love behind the scenes, studio stuff. The building of the beat and concept.
I feel like second beat (the ludacris one) sounds legendary. That doesn't mean the first version was bad or anything like that, but that MVP beat is simply amazing. I got chills listening to these samples. Greetings from Poland. You're the best, Preemo 👍
I remember the first time I heard this. I remember exactly how it made me feel. I went out and bought the cd the next day. This album solidified his place as one of the dopest lyricists from the Dirty Dirty. We appreciate you Premier.
Preemo laced that joint. I copped that album which is dope off the strength of M.V.P. A straight head nodder. Luda is definitely a Legendary lyricist and I don’t think he gets enough props. I remember when he first came out with what’s your fantasy I thought he was going to be just a commercial rapper. He got my respect when he ripped a freestyle of Rap City I was like he has bars. This joint here is definitely one of Preemo’s all time beats. The beat that went to The House Of Reps was just as Fyah 🔥🔥🔥
Nothing more amazing than getting insight into your creative process and hearing the details on how these tracks come into fruition. I always wished I could be a fly on the wall in the rooms these meetings take place. However, settling for this is epic enough.
Been waiting for this one....MVP has always been in my top 5 Prem' beats - despite most 'heads' not knowing it (as its not Gangstarr or Luda snobbery)...but it shows, Premier still delivering classics long after others have retired...Salute!
DJ Premier is the Balance and Orator of Hip-Hop. He is literally from Houston and the South but created the iconic Brooklyn, NYC Sound of Hip-Hop. His Tag Team partner in Gangstar, Guru was from Boston. DJ Premier is Hip-Hop.
These videos are amazing! Thanks for letting us know what was going on! Great source of inspiration. Biggest respect to all the dead and living legends.
Such a great pick for this episode! I was always curious how you connected with LUDA! edit: Also love the commentary on Theater Of The Mind it's my 2nd favorite Ludacris album, banger after banger. Quality over quantity like you said.
Much needed series!!!!! Fucc all the blog behind the scenes type stuff. All i be wantin to hear is cool stories bout how traccs got made and the vibes.
Ludacris is one of my top 10 rappers of all time as what DJ Premier says do not sleep on him, I’ve always told people about him but his lyrical skills an they just think he’s a gimmick artists but he’s not.
Been enjoying these a lot . Premo beats to me are the purest essence of hip hop music . If aliens came to earth and asked what hip hop was . I would play them one of his tracks
This was a very dope track but the only part that I had a problem with was when Ludacris said he’s the first southern rapper on a Premo beat. I was like nah Luda it was Scarface back in 1998 on the song Betrayal with Gangstarr. Lol it’s all good Luda. Any who, this was my favorite song on Theatre Of The Mind album.
Yup. Scarface, Cee Lo (“Evening News”), Devin The Dude (“Doobie Ashtray”), and even Jermaine Dupri (“Protectors of 1472” featuring Snoop) all rocked over Premo beats before Luda.
Peace to Primo! Aside from his amazing, era/area establishing production, he was so revered that any rapper who believed they were an MC/lyricist knew they had to show & prove over the steam that DJ Premier manifested.
Fucking love my weekly history lesson with Preemo! I could listen for hours.
💯 yes!
Need to be a documentary about the good old days.
That House of Reps track was fire, too.
Shits a banger
One of my fav Luda songs ever. I remember hearing this and instantly falling in love with it. Luda is severely underrated! Keep it up, Preemo!
Luda is underrated? What you smokin’ on?!
@@CANControlGRAFFITI I got mo cheese then provolone
This song is part of my cardio playlist!
Luda got hot then kept hot and now stays flames on the big screen, a ludicrous success story - salute!
Salute Salute Premmmmmo and Ludacris. To me this production hits different. We needed this and we are getting it. Love this track plus Ludacris kills it. Thank you for both.
Can't wait for D'Evils, A Million and One, Memory Lane, Golden Child, None of Ya'll better.....endless classics!!
Memory Lane 🔥🔥🔥
A million and one was heat I'm waiting on Nas is like

Yo when this man scratches the vinyl I have goosebumps all over my body, his style and originality of those sounds is so unique

This was a good one. Cris killed it.
Cris and Chris
Do Pitch Black - It's All Real next! That was the perfect bait and switch single, haha.
Hell yes
Not the bait and switch lol. U mean as in first single was fire and rest of the album was trash???
Lolol. For real. Like back in 90s Question mark Asylum "look away" single...rest of album...sheez
Pitch Black may have spent their entire budget on Premo!!! I would have produced the whole album for $150k plus 4 points publishing lol.

@@titanjake8640 right. They could’ve just released it as a 12”.

A recently found theatre of the mind, there's some amazing tracks on there like last of a dying breed and I do it for hip-hop.
The flip of this sample is the biggest star shining in this production. Wauw

That mvp beat is one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard 🔥🔥
I've said it before and I'll say it again, thank you for sharing all of these with us! Could watch forever! GOAT
This album brings me back to when i was a kid.

Theatre of the mind was Luda boom bap album and it was Dope.

Both House Of Repz & Luda's MVP is DOPE !
Watching this series, premier is putting in the work, really put me on some game.
My favourite Ludacris track ever. Had the CD in High School and was the shit.
This shows how dope Ludacris is as an emcee. Salute his creativity
Not many get love East, West and South like Premo does, dude never alienated any coast/region and gets major love from all over.
Theater of the mind is a classic!
Man.....i quit rap, and every tuesday after seeing So Wassup I start writing and diggin beats!!!
Whew! This track, and Theatre of the Mind as a whole, was some of the inspiration for me to start making beats. Big ups to you Primo!

One of my favorite tracks off Theatre of The Mind. Also a little surprised Premier didnt mention The Game on that album.

Mathematics of Mos Def and The Banger that Preem made for Phife Daugh of A Tribe Called Quest

So dope. I've never heard what Luda did to the beat but I've freestyled to it mad times. Classic.
Dope story as usual. You're one of the reasons I do music!

Peace to Primo! Aside from his amazing, era/area establishing production, he was so revered that any rapper who believed they were an MC/lyricist knew they had to show & prove over the steam that DJ Premier manifested.
"Im the MVP im stupid with this rap s**t,rewind the verse and make the track do a backflip".cold lyrics man🔥
