I work for the teachers-ESP union in Illinois. The IEA-NEA. Our staff have seen years in prison for this charge. I know teachers who saw and spent nearly 2 years in jail because a teacher who said, “I had sex with a student.” They thought he was joking and as mandatory reporters - didn’t report.
Why are the congressional staffers and representatives who knew this prior to today, not facing the same charges as mandatory reporters. Sickens me.
