Beg to differ, not in the UK, my small evangelical church is nothing like these evil places. We have church pastors that move to the really poor areas where hope is lost and petty crime is often, worry about feeding the children they love and care for, grief all alone with no one to share it. With the people that left lovely homes in lovely areas that came to our estate, I have been born again, baptised in the local lake by my daughter and son in law, every one of my fellow Christians turned up to pray over me and mine. No one needs to worry anymore, we go to people we see in panic mode, bailiffs on the way, we use a fund we put together for such problems, we are there for the bailiffs and pay their debt, we invite them often for lunch, bible reading or faith music, good food and a good dance. We will pay to get people's power on when the money has run out. Have big all invited Sunday lunches, opened a food bank, clothes bank and school uniform swaps for high school as the new are very expensive, but, good quality and last years. Out grown uniforms swapped for bigger sizes, free uniforms for the first year starters. This is Christianity, this is our church, where we live. Our community is thriving, people are trusting God's word, they are learning the message and becoming children of God building faith, growing trust and allowing Jesus to guide them. This is our evangelical church. Lifelong faith I finally found where God lives, in our hearts, I finally know how to ask God for forgiveness, how to praise his unbelievable abilities and how to bring light into dark places. All on a very poor estate in an affluent area where disdain and material needs overtake living a good life hand in hand with Almighty Jesus Christ, fed by the Spirit and in continued acknowledgement of God's guidance and care.
Any church involved in politics should be taxed because it endorses political party and candidates. Don’t think they don’t. It's just that nobody in the IRS or in a position of power has had the fortitude to try and enforce it (and with this current court, my guess is that they'd arrive at a convenient ruling striking it down). So they can legally say "candidate a supports this, candidate b opposes it", but if they say "vote for candidate a, do not vote for candidate b", then they can lose that tax-exempt status in a heartbeat (again, in theory).

great topic, ladies. these megachurches are disgusting and an insult to authentic neighborhood churches that truly give back to their communities, often on a shoestring budget.
I don't attend church anymore, not for a very long time. But when I did, I always felt like my pastor at my neighborhood church knew me, acknowledged me and knew the other parishioners personally. That can't happen at a mega church!
I talked to Jesus two days ago and he said that he hates the whole Republican party. He said he calls them "Klangelicals," and "RepubliKlans!" I laughed so hard I peed myself. Oh yeah, He said you can use those for free, he refused to trademark them. That's Jesus for you, he's such a maniac. 😂✌️😇👍

My mother’s family is buried in the back acre of a Baptist Church here in NC. These are family members going back generations. When my mother was in hospice we discovered they would not allow her to be buried there with her family because she had not attended or tithed in a few years. She got their cassette tapes but at 89 and in ill health where we could not even get her into a car - she wasn’t going anywhere. Her picture and name is still a part of the photo wall of this church. Me? I moved back here to take care of her husband. I said F O to that church and don’t waste my time with any church. My father walked out of two who preached trump.

I’m a Christian but the cognitive dissonance you discussed was so spot on in my own life. Not religious here. I believe spirituality is more important than christianity. I believe any church that is involved in interstate commerce should be taxed, heavily! In their world didn’t christ say shed all your wealth and follow me and, spread the word of the father? Just paraphrasing.
He did, indeed. He expected the kingdom of god to come within the lifetime of his followers. Hence, leaving family, hating your parents, selling everything and give to the poor, etc., was going to be just for a little while, until the Messiah came. The kingdom of god was going to be on earth, not in heaven. When he didn’t come back, Paul had to switch the system to something he made up himself. Former Christian here. He also told his disciples to hit the road with what was on their backs and count on others to provide a big welcome (I.e., food and a place to stay and host gatherings). I guess the scamvangelists have decided to ignore that, along with virtually everything Jesus else taught in the bible.
The cognitive dissonance also allows parishioners to pat themselves on the back for being "pro-life" while voting against all social welfare programs, Medicaid/Medicare and helping immigrants fleeing extreme poverty and violence.
So true! My entire childhood, my parents dragged me to church. When we lived in Houston we went to John Osteen's church. Then it was Joel Osteen's church. I've always been intuitive and I saw the fakeness in everything but I was forced to go with my family. Then we moved to OKC and we started going to Life Church since it first started. My parents still go there and they also run "Life group" every week. My whole family is so brainwashed now it's unreal. I'm the only atheist and democrat of the family.
There's a huge church in our area that advertises at the movie theater before the previews. They have concerts and an outdoor ice skating rink, rock climbing wall, snack bar and store, soccer fields and that's just what you can see driving by. Pretty sure that's not what Jesus had in mind. Maybe all that money could go to helping those in need. I wonder what the pastor is driving.

I’m glad people got out of the grifting cults.. I was in Atlanta years ago when a pastor named Eddie Long led my sister in laws church. I remind her all the time how I warned her against this nonsense as I was glad to leave that church.
Thank you ladies! I keep SMH and wondering why NO ONE is speaking up about the biggest fundamental problem in America… MEGA/MAGA churches and the cognitive dissonance it creates…. Leading to millions of people who can no longer think critically about ANYTHING. Because they have to suspend disbelief to accept all this hooey, they can’t stop suspending disbelief and have created this “alternative” reality in which there is no truth, no facts, and nothing is real. People should be running around with their hair on fire 🔥 screaming “Danger Will Robinson.” But they’ve gone like sheep to the slaughter. Hey… wait one GD minute: there is truth, science, reality and an entire world of provable FACTS‼️ Well, there you are… actually doing it and saying it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! So thank you Jennifer and Pumps… you are turning the world 🙃 right side up again! You guys need superhero capes … just sayin’
I think you would enjoy FUNDIE FRIDAYS. It’s a wonderful TH-cam channel that covers Fundamentalism (as well as Cults and other religions) and Politics. Jen usually covers the Fundie stuff and James covers Politics. And they discuss the overlaps.
I've said this for years; "I would much rather deal with someone on drugs than a 'born again Christian'. At least the person on drugs has a reason their brain isn't right." I'm not real popular in religious circles. 🤔
You have hit the political nail on the head with this one. The cognitive dissonance you discussed is what is driving political power, using these people as a cudgel and a wedge to assert authority and power over others and laying claim to some moral instrument which is nothing more than "because I said so..." When the authority and trust of a society has little to no basis in fact, a determinative analysis would suggest the society is doomed to fail. Doesn't matter what or how institutions are structured or organized, having authorities claim "to eat one's own feces and drink your own urine will cure what ails you..." clearly makes these authorities suspect, AT BEST.
All Mega Churches need to be taxed! The first Mega Church I went in, as a child was the Catholic Church! 500+ people seated, in a huge church, with statues that gave me nightmares, with men in dresses, and Nuns with hooded dresses! Scared the hell of me 60 years ago! Hagee has pictures looking totally CRAZED! I thought he looked possessed! I would never set foot near him!
It's exactly the way I feel too. Having been been brought up in a strict Catholic home, and later tried to fit in at a happy clappy Baptist church, I now regard organised religion with horror. I do, however, love many of the teachings of Jesus, and strive to follow them. What I cannot abide, though, is Christians of any sort, including Jehovah's Witnesses and LDS, attempting to make me, and members of my family, part of their church.
Not trying to nitpick, but it’s worth pointing out that it is 100% a fact that Jesus was a real man. There is a lot of historical evidence all over the place to suggest that a man named Jesus was going around and teaching people about God. Even Jewish people recognized that Jesus existed, they just did not accept him as the Son of God. It’s fair to believe that he was just a man who liked God, but it’s just sort of silly to try to say he didn’t exist at all. Not sure where the confusion comes from, but a lot of these most important biblical figures did in fact exist in some capacity as people.
Yes you can but the Bible says: Whoever believes and is baptized (by the Holy Spirit) will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned (Mark 16:16). If what you believe is true, you have nothing to worry about, but if what you believe is not true, "HELL" is waiting for you.

Hey ladies! Fantastic piece as always and really timely to remind folk of who holds the reins in Conservative politics. Something that I haven't seen being discussed much is the changes in Russia where LGBTQ+ folk are now officially classed as (and added to the state list of) Terrorists. Yet MAGOP are still trying to support Putin by proxy. We know that they're homophobic and would like to do the same. Maybe that's something you might be able to cover and raise awareness of? ❤️ Love to y'all! 😘

What y'all think about the 700 club now?You know who side they' re on and they get donation to help immigrants.
❤❤❤❤ from Europe. What a relief to see grounded and sound women, and who have an eye for architecture. You nailed it. Continue your great work. Greetings
Love your work Jen. Keep fighting the good fight and exposing these evil hypocritical deceivers. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
I applaud you both. You spoke the truths that need to be aired. Even Trump knows they are con artists.
great topic, ladies. these megachurches are disgusting and an insult to authentic neighborhood churches that truly give back to their communities, often on a shoestring budget.
😂😂😂, you make laugh!!!
I used to sing in church choir and when I got older and realized that churches are just another cash grab business, that is when I stopped going regularly. So Very Sad. They say they are about community and belonging etc..etc......but if you are Not Giving 10% of your annual salary to the "church" - guess what, you are not really part of that community.
BLM and DEI are cash grabbers. So is the lgbtquia cult.
You ladies are right on!!! Keep up the good work you are doing pointing out the truth.
Tax the churches!
Tax lgbtquia activists!

it would seem most churches are breaking the law.
I’m a Christian but the cognitive dissonance you discussed was so spot on in my own life. Having to unlearn that and deconstruct the gospels for myself and see what Jesus is actually about vs the American brand Jesus I grew up with, is definitely a journey and one I’m not planning on departing anytime soon. Even it’s been isolating one.
Right on !!! This past January I respectfully called out my "ex pastor"
for pulling a mini rally on our altar. Yes, I left mid "rally" and later took him aside. The man I used to look up to for showing me the way now has become
one of these freaks. Of course he denied everyhing and called me a liar. I left brokenhearted. I am 35+ year sober 67 yo woman. He almost drove me to fall off the wagon. .....then I remembered every service
is taped.......got home, watched it, felt better about myself, never took a drink, and Your Honor..... I rest my case. Lol. After 13 years of attending, he never apologized and I never returned. To this day I have yet to find a church
but continue looking...
Thanks ladies and listeners... in meantime you keep me sane!!!!!!
@@livierochoa97 idk where you're at but i actually just started going to black church and it's so much better lol. also, congrats on your sobriety! im so proud of you!!! i want to be sober too, pray for me
n@pjrodriguez386 . Yes, will keep you in my prayers. We peeps looking for peace and serenity have to look out for eachother. Most definitely!
I'm in Southern Cali. Do you mean black church as in people with the clapping , worshipping and looking and sounding like they've got it going on?
Yes, I've been meaning to go to a service like that!!
OR.......black church as in wicthes and that type sh*t. I've never messed with that sh*t no matter how low I've sunk. Hope you meant the latter. Lol
Not religious here. I believe spirituality is more important than christianity. I believe any church that is involved in interstate commerce should be taxed, heavily! In their world didn’t christ say shed all your wealth and follow me and, spread the word of the father? Just paraphrasing.
There's no reason they should be exempt.
Yes I agree with you about spirituality
Agreed!!! NON PROFIT STATUS MUST BE REMOVED FOR ANY THAT PREACH POLITICS!!!
WHERE IS IRS??? They don't hide their behavior 🤬🤬🤬
The irs job is to make the poor people. Ding ding

The cognitive dissonance also allows parishioners to pat themselves on the back for being "pro-life" while voting against all social welfare programs, Medicaid/Medicare and helping immigrants fleeing extreme poverty and violence.
Amen!
yes, it's sick isn't it?
Yep.

Well said
I love you two! You speak for SO many of us who are thoughtful and care about our country and our world. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I believe in freedom from religion.🦎
I couldn’t agree more with your views😊
I was involved with these people for quite a few years and made an exit. Your assessment is so good and true. Thanks for making me a laugh at what used to be in my life. Free at last.
I’m glad people got out of the grifting cults.. I was in Atlanta years ago when a pastor named Eddie Long led my sister in laws church. She gave me the blues for not wanting to be a part of this spiritual lottery shit show. Years later the pastor was caught up in homosexual scandals. I remind her all the time how I warned her against this nonsense as I was glad to leave that church.
True love is unconditional.
The first Megachurch in our city was built in a former Home Depot building...It looks like a coffee shop in a Home Depot!
😮that is just stunning. A religion warehouse.
That pastor in the car door looks like a DEMON from an 80s horror film.
Oddly, his very appearance proves that Lizard People really do exist.
The primary reason for the mega churches is to make fortunes for the ‘pastors’.
I love these women. I finally found intelligent women with similar opinions. Thanks ladies!
What?!
We’re not even going to acknowledge that perfect clap?! 👏
Right!!! Totally spot on
Way to go Pumps! 🎉
Thank you ladies! I found you a couple of months ago and I’m so grateful to hear sanity, clear headed thinking and two courageous women calling out all the duplicity on the right… from politics to this mythologically storybook grift called “Christianity.” I’m really grateful this episode fell into TH-cam’s logarithm (groan). Just when I feel like 🤯, I have you two (and the wonderful “Kathy” aka Kiley 😜) to speak rationally about the insanity of it all.
Thank you for including that interview of Copeland. He is obviously the demon in the story ~
Spot on . He's a scary looking mf.
Crazy demonic eyes
Copeland and Trump attract that part of society that wants to be led and have given up on the ability to question bullshit.
I can’t help but think he is the devil incarnate every time I see him. I can only take him for a minute or two.
He looks like a demon
Those eyes are scary, but he don't scare me.
No really say what you mean..!

3..00 am in New Zealand and I’m enjoying watching you! Love your comments and agree. We have them here too. Well, a couple…
You have more in NZ than many realise.
These women's commentary is on a different level. I like them.
I've said this before, I'll say it again: Forget the opioid crisis, addiction to religion is the greatest threat to America.
I wonder how many have suffered through the opioid crisis because of shame from these churches
Do you think religions prey on those with mental illness, or the mentally ill gravitate towards religion?
Religion is the greatest threat to the whole human race too. In my opinion. Mass delusion.
I've said this for years; "I would much rather deal with someone on drugs than a 'born again Christian'. At least the person on drugs has a reason their brain isn't right." I'm not real popular in religious circles. 🤔
You are so right.
Preach ladies! Love this❤
Mega churches should not be tax exempt...it is a sham
When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I. There I will find shelter from the storms of life.

That was my first thought too.
Amen Sister's Amen!!!!
OMG when Pumps starts giggling 🤭 I just lose my shit, you ladies are so funny because what you say is true. 😅
Tax the Church
Churches have to start paying taxes since they’re all up in politics!!!! 🤬
You go ladies!
Spot on yet again ladies!

I live in Okc, and these ladies make me so happy. These ladies are speaking the truth. Thank you so much
“I don’t have anything against Jesus. Jesus is one of my favourite fictional characters”, had me in stitches. Thank you!
You won’t be in stitches when you stand before Him at the Great White Throne Judgement at the end of millennium. (Revelation 20-22).

see, i can quote fairytales too.
Thank you
Thank you
For saying this..

Jennifer speaks my language. She speaks for so many of us. So refreshing. 💛
Love it! Keep it coming, ladies. Commenting for the algorithm. 👍
Love love love, you ladies are amazing and I watch and rewatch your videos every day. Hope you are well and I'm loving the news content!!!
I love you two! You call it the way you see it!! I completely agree with you both about the Ministers from the Mega churches!! Grifters is definitely the correct term……..
Agree with you .. scratch the surface & they’re all about what/who they hate. Money is where it begins & ends with these people. Or, as they like to call it ‘the gospel of prosperity’.
I love you ladies!!! Keep speaking the truth!!! ❤

But they still try and pull the "love the sinner hate the sin" or "I don't care what "they" do in private" bull.
Maybe that's something you might be able to cover and raise awareness of? ❤️ Love to y'all! 😘
Jennifer and Pumps, you described this perfectly! Thank you

You gals have it spot on. Love your shows
Imagine our society helping everyone in this country if we collected tax money from all churches/religious based business/corporations. That's WWJD
Thank you for this show. It is nice to hear sane voices. When I spend my time nodding instead of feeling anguish, I know I have found a gem of a show. These people are so warped, they have no right to even mention Jesus.
You two are so spot on… with this topic and all others! I enjoy the injection of humour as well. Keep up the good work. Thanks for all you’re doing.
Ps… I’m an architect and I wholeheartedly agree with your critique!
You are SO good , you say exactly what I have said for years about the broken American society, and luckily i am living in Denmark .. the perfect democracy…
Such a delicious perspective 💫💜
I really like listening to you both. Thank you for speaking out❤
