I love how people talk about xtina regarding her intended growls/grit/distortion... whatever you want to call it. Some people mistake it for strain. But, if the girl was straining and had a damaged voice like some like to claim she wouldn't have such control and breathing control to go from that hard belt up to such a lovely falsetto which is supported so quickly and effortlessly. It's okay not not enjoy someone's style of singing but don't mistake it for a very rare vocal gift that many wish they had the ability to do.
