Hennef(Sieg) is a town with approx. 47,000 inhabitants in the Rhein-Sieg district, approx. 30 km southeast of Cologne. Hennef(Sieg) station was opened in 1859 and is located on the Siegstrecke. The station consists of a side platform and an island platform. The side platform merges seamlessly into a bus station. There are seven trains every hour from Hennef in the direction of Cologne, six of which are S-Bahn trains that take 37 minutes to Cologne main station, and a regional express that takes 30 minutes. There is no planned long-distance traffic on the Siegstrecke route.
