Man, I still hate, hate, HATE the way Himeno died, I hate that she died at all becasue she was SO interesting and SO cool and she deserved to have more storylines and more plot relevance than just that short period of time... Maybe I am biased and there were some narrative hints, like her wanting to transfer to civilian and living in peace with Aki no longer making her be "hunter that has a screw loose" but-- yeah. I am unsatisfied to this day and I wish there was more of her. Onto your edit, it is a great one! I especially loved this segment of "don't die, Aki" just pilled up all togehter, making it so painfully obvious that she would do ANYTHING to have him survive, making in understandable why she sacraficed all of herself for him... Once again, I just love the storytelling aspects of your AMVs, how we start with graveyard and that sets up Himeno to really not see another teammate of hers die... I'm kinda rambling here at this point but I really liked it! And seconding most of people in your comment section, you REALLY deserver WAY more attention for your work!
I really wish there was more of her story, too. It felt like it was cut off before it even had a chance to begin. I really wish she Aki had agreed so that she could’ve been spared from this lifestyle. Thank you so much (again)! I’m glad I could convey my message so well! Just finished EP12 of the series and came here to check if you have made a video on Himeno. I found her the most interesting in the series, it looks like the tough women who are goofy from the outside are my type, hehe. She felt like Hange from AoT, and both of their sacrifices hit hard. I found it interesting that you focused this video on her relationship with Aki. They shared a great dynamic, like Levi and Hange (again comparing it to AoT, though I assume Hange didn't have a crush on Levi 😛). I really wanted Aki and Himeno to have a good life ahead, but these stories don't end like that 🥺. Added your other chainsaw videos to my watchlist :)
I’m glad you liked it! I haven’t thought about it, but Hange and Himeno are definable very similar characters. I wish that, too. Her death came out of nowhere and I still haven’t fully recovered.
