    Thank you for the simple but detail information. I put my cutting directly into the soil and have discovered that my plant has rotted as you said it would. Wish I'd check youtube earlier. I will trim it again and follow your directions. Much appreciated! From Toronto, Ontario, Canada

      But it is not always true.
      I have been trying all methods.
      I planted one month back 14 cuttings directly after talking cuttings in very ordinary soil.
      Faring well equally.

    The crown of thorns plant (Euphorbia Milii) is a heat tolerent and drought resistant plant that can bloom almost year - round even indoors , helpful video.

    Wow, I loved your video. I have a Christ Thorn that is older than 20. I changed the soil and gave it a bigger pot for more room to grow - buuut, it rotted bc I used too much compost and not enough drainage soil. (I thought I knew better than that.) Anyway, I'm trying to salvage it. I feel about my plants like you do for your bird. I hope he visits you. And I hope my Christ Thorn comes back to life as Jesus did. Thanks for making this! A pleasure to watch. Marissa, Toronto

    love the video! but my cutting needs help! i took a 3 inch cutting, dried it out, and put it in soil, much like the first small cuttings in your video. My cutting had a flower, and several leaves on it. I try to keep it moist, but occasionally the soil will dry slightly when I go out of town. I have had this cutting for a few weeks, maybe a month. One by one the leaves are turning yellow, them brown, and falling off. It is almost out of leaves. The first week or 2 it was fine, now it is not. Any ideas on how to save it?

    • @urbangardeningofficial
      @urbangardeningofficial  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jax Negrete its normal for this succulent plant ...if temp is too high (more than 35 degre Celsius) than keep it in partial sunlight ..otherwise keep it in direct sun for better growth ......
      Water only when soil feels dry to touch as overwatering will cause rot

      Its needs slightly cold climate to produce beautiful blooms ...keep the plant in full sunlight ...requires 4-6 hrs direct sunlight for flowering

    Hello, nice video! I have a question for you. I have a huge crown of thorns plant that I saved from a rental property, and it has green leaves, but the very bottom feels almost hollow. Will it die? Can I save it? Thanks in advance!

      You can plant it as it is and take 4-5 cuttings from it...dry them for 2-3 days in shade n plant them in sandy soil mix

    you are using wrong pruners you should use bypass pruners for live plant cutting and this kind of cutter is made for dry branch cutting
