Love how you show off Jax - and the First Coast - to the world. May your lines be tight and your cooler full!
Fishing as the sun is setting, all the scenes of the city is a vibe . Nice flounder too, you love to see it
Watching you fish while I can't always brings me back the feeling of being next to the water. Keep it up brotha.
Love how you incorporate different angles and show the surrounding scenery in all your videos! Makes me feel like I'm watching a movie every time! Keep em coming and congrats on 3k!
Jason Kolacinski
Keep this videos coming…….great job bro!! I think Jay wanted that nice flounder 😂
Lol nah, I would’ve given it to him. Jay doesn’t enjoy eating fish so he only does catch and release. I occasionally release in hot grease😂
Nicely done! Love how you explore new places all the time, especially in this video. I’ve never thought of the downtown area to have any good fishing spots. - Roman -
Love the fact y’all were able to stick a red in the concrete jungle. -Thomas
Reminds me of how I used to fish before I got my first kayak! Love it. Sandy Stark
Love the downtown Flounder spot!! You were tearing them up! We got a trip planned to go back to Jacksonville at the end of the month. Your Pumpkin Hill area suggestion a few months ago worked out well for us last time!
Loved seeing you catch fish from places I’ve seen in real life and would’ve never thought held fish! Super cool!
- Bowman Blocker
Never fished downtown before, now I have a reason to do so now. Best part of the video.
Mark M
I love these videos. I live in jacksonville and wasnt aware there were so many land based spots to fish. - Rith
Great video. I enjoyed seeing this park of Jacksonville. Love the production and cinematography. Hope to see you out here, one day-JT
I love to see the catch and release.Much respect!!;-).....
👊👊
Grinding on foot , I remember those days before I got my yak , love all your videos bro!! - Jason Curtin
i liked watching you fish and not giving up! -Brady Ellison
Love the city views man! Def gonna have to give it a shot one day 🤙🏽
Hell yeah!🙌
Really enjoying this series. I've explored new areas to fish thanks to you. Also, I am now going to start throwing jig heads and gulp minnows on my spinning reel because it seems like you catch it all on them while I'm catching nothing lol great content man, please keep it up. Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks so much man! Can’t go wrong with throwing a gulp on a jighead. Play around with different retrieval techniques and speeds🙌
We catch shrimp from those seawalls every year when they're running. fishing is good when you hit some schools of red and sometimes you get hybrid stripers there on the St. John's
Never got into shrimping. Would love to learn one of these days. Would love to catch a hybrid striper as well. That would check off a new species. We did see quite a few people cast netting for shrimp out there though. Seems to be a popular spot for them. Thanks for checking out the video!🤙
@@VISUAL-LY Shrimping is fun and easy. Have you been down to Guana in Ponte Vedra?
@@chefslifechronicles4650 yes I have. I know people catch them down there pretty good. Along with blue crabs. But I’ve only kayak fished there lol
Love the flounder from the pier. Great spot! I don’t get to the coast enough.
Happy fishing! Rory Conley
I’ve lived in Jacksonville for over 2 years and didn’t even know about these spots- that’s dope. Need to up my game lol. Dope video! -Aubree M
Nice video, loved seeing downtown jax! -Alex Eagle
Appreciate your little video bro. I'm going up there on the 16th of December, bring my pole with me and going to do a little. Thank you for the insight of the places I'll. God bless you!!
Good luck!
Love the video learned some new areas of Jax to try appreciate the content- Brent S
Very great fishing video :)
Thanks my man!🤙🤙
Love seeing the different spots around Jax- Adam
The night shots were my favorite part dude.....I missing Jax my dude. Keep up the 904vids bro.
Rob
My favorite part of the video is the “FISHING, NETTING, SHRIMPING PROHIBITED” sign. I’ve never seen that ordinance enforced, and broken it plenty! Love the channel, and the videos. Keep up the beautiful work. Drawing - Brad B
Was thinking about going out that way to try out that dock area out until I seen the sign. So you've also fished that area with no problems?
@jeffland2985 can no longer access it from shore. They’ve closed everything off since they started construction on new condos right in front of the Marina👎
I like seeing other people take on getting out there and doing the same thing I love doing every week here in Jax.
- Matthew Bruce
My two favorite Duuuval fishermen! Way to keep the skunk out Jay! You know you had some hot grease and cornmeal for that flounder. You didn’t invite him to dinner. Nice video guys!
lol, Jay don't eat fish. You gotta join us next time bro!
I was talking about that flounder. You didn’t even invite him. 😂 was downtown yesterday. Bait everywhere.
Oh😂 The amount of bait is crazy down there! Gonna launch kayak soon at that boat ramp and see if I can find better fish. You able to use kayak yet?
Love what you’re doing and the coaching you do to help put viewers on fish!! I have benefits from your tricks and tips! I am local and we should link up to fish! - Huy
My favorite part was the flounder on the dock!
Sebastian
I liked how your showing a very underutilized area. Come late September early October the flounder will really be stacked in that are! Wes Allen
I've been in Jax my whole life and didn't know their was saltwater fish downtown, thats awesome man
Got sharks by the Buchman bridge
Thanks for leaving that Flounder for me Ill be headed there tonight 😅 U should try Riverside next time down by Riverside Park u can fish there its alot nicer and under the bridge and if u walk the river walk u can fish all down the banks just be aware of the rocks. I weedless setup helps with jigs but Carolina rig live shrimp or fiddlers can produce some action at the right tide and the right bite. Downtown is always a bit more challenging but the views are worth it. Seems mornung and dusk are thr best times also.
Yeah, definitely different to fish downtown area. Thanks for the advice about fishing riverside and river walk! Might have to do a part2 video🙌 Tight lines bro!
Enjoyed the video, I've fished some of those spots in the Mako. Some day we gotta link up.
Definitely! Thank you! Hope you caught more than we did! Jeez it was tough😅
@@VISUAL-LY well, let’s say I haven’t been back 😄 didn’t catch much either.
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish 😂😂
16:48 is the old fire station dock
I live around Jax please start labeling the locations in the description looking for more land based fishing spots, awesome vids man
👍
I live in Jacksonville for a long time I’m 17 years old and I have fished the first area you went many times 1:18 is the place I caught a couple trout not big but eh oh well I really love your editing and the way you fish is cool and the cinematics in your videos just amazing my names is Anthony by the way keep up the good work
Appreciate it Anthony! Keep slaying!🤙
You to man keep making good videos
I caught a nice flounder with a curly tail grub behind St Vincent's a couple of weeks ago while waiting for my dad during a procedure, well, it broke off at the wall but it was big. (then I found out wasn't supposed to be fishing there by hospital security!)
Hey, you’re not doing anything wrong until someone tells you to leave lol! I was thinking about taking my kayak there soon and fishing that entire stretch
I did look for no fishing signs, didnt see any at first, I eventually saw one at one end of the hospital after security told me.. it was not clearly posted @@VISUAL-LY
I love the fact that y’all caught all those fish up in that area, great video work as always brother. Do you just use go pros or what do you use? I’m looking to start videoing me and my buddies fishing adventures. -Justin w.
Thanks! But yeah, mainly GoPros and sometimes my phone too. Good luck with it though!
nice fishing spots bro. When fishing with shrimps as bait i can really recommend using bait line so they dont steal the shrimps as easy
Thanks for the advice bro! Watched your video to see what bait line is and now to use it.
What's bait line I would like to try as well.
Have you checked out the fishing at the Reddie Point Preserve? I've been getting into fishing as a beginner, going to be checking that spot out with the old man this weekend after hearing about it for shore fishing and a pond.
I have a “Arlington” video in the works. Next episode of the shore series🤙
@@VISUAL-LY Awesome, can't wait! Good hunting!
I live downtown one thing I’ve noticed is it definitely isn’t like fishing off Heckscher drive. Never been skunked out there before but downtown is a different beast. 😂😂
You’re totally right about that! Totally different type of fishing💯 I live in Springfield so may spend more time exploring down here. Gotta be some good fishing somewhere🙌
Yessir I’m looking for some spots as well I’ll definitely let you know if I end up finding any gems.
@ajwilliams5830 hell yeah🙌🙌
I like cause I’m land base and didn’t know flounder were that far downtown
Next time try a Chartreuse Gulp Swimming Mullet. flounder candy. Slow bounce off the bottom. 🎣
Will give that a try! Thanks for the info!👊
Back in the day Northside generating station pumped warm water back in the river not far from where y'all are fishing south bank. We caught snook, mangrove snapper, small Warsaw grouper, speckled trout, yellow trout, reds. In the winter
Wow, wish I got to experience that! Grouper inshore?! Crazy!
@@VISUAL-LY I've also caught small gag grouper at the JEA station on hecksher Dr.around the coal crane docks. Also in st. Nickolas creek.Awesome kayaking possibilities.
@@darrellbridwell588 wish we have keeper size inshore grouper like they do down in SW Florida. That would be so awesome!
I liked the spots (I also live in Jax and have been looking for new spots) My name is James.
Dude how do i not run into you sometimes i feel like we do circles around each other! Ive been killing the shrimp right there downtown by memorial fountain
🤷♂️😂😂 We’ve prob been in the same spots more than once lol. Definitely say hi if you see me!🤙
Hey my man So u say the shrimp are finally moving good? That means the reds and trout are fixing to start heating up🎉 I need to go do a little shrimpin this year I missed last year with family.
You’re my favorite part of the video. 😘
❤❤
When fishing downtown i like live or dead bait on the bottom.
Cool, thanks! What’s the best you’ve caught downtown?
@VISUAL-LY mostly big croaker. They are going to start showing up. Use a heavier rod 3-4oz weight dead shrimp or shrimp and fish bites. 🐟 very fun
@@AB-ze2ho awesome thanks!!
wow on that first nice flounder, I will be google mapping this area today when I get bored at work... that last spot, I have been planning to put my boat in there one day. Would be a cool place to drone too. Would love a heads up before part two.
Lots of cool little areas downtown for sure! I have few more spots saved for part2. Be cool if you could join me!
I already commented, hope you don’t think I am trying to spam. Favorite part was see you fish down. That is a downtown I know so well.
Just let me know if you want me to join on part 2!
@@chud327 you’re def in!🤙
Forgot to say I'm coming up from Fort Lauderdale my friend.
Another great video! Your cinematography is one of the best. We need to fish together and you can give me some video tips! Nice job! Greg “Freedom Fishing”
Thank you sir! Would be cool to fish St Augustine some day. Been way too long since I've wet a line down that way. Awesome fishery! Keep uploading those videos!
@@VISUAL-LY I have a boat this Sunday morning from 7:30-1:00 if you want to go?
Awesome but I already have family plans this weekend - Labor Day and then next weekend is a kayak tournament. Maybe after that!
@@VISUAL-LY yes let’s do it soon
Cool vid I just like seeing my city #904 go Jags
Brandon
I would try live shrimp under a pop bobber..parallel on the seawalls..going out tide..
Thanks! Might have to try that. Just don’t like using live shrimp, especially in this summer heat. They die so quickly😅
@@VISUAL-LY get an aerated bait bucket..back in the day we used Otabs..and dont get too many..prob a dozen..especially seeing the bite may not be all that good..
@kevinmuse9027 awesome, thanks for the advice!
What rod and reel are you using?
St croix 7’-6” triumph with 2500 shimano stradic
Yeew, hey do you want to talk about doing a collaboration during this mullet run?
Sure!
@@VISUAL-LY Can I get your phone number.
Well, I guess I could just type mine and then delete it after you have it.
@@The_Florida_Fishing_Channel messsge me on IG
Such rebels😅 spot #2 clearly said "no fishing "..
😂😂JSO saw us and just smiled and waved🤷♂️
I'm such a scared butt I would've left and not fished.
@brandoncuts82 😂
No fish is worth it. Ask me how I know.
@@chrissully7191 How do u know?
do you trust eating fish caught in the st johns?
100%. The St John’s is fed by natural springs in the south, and fresh ocean water is flushed in and out of the river twice a day. Nothing to not trust about that!
Yo I hope you’re doing good after hurricane idalia
Yessir, very uneventful here in Jax thank god! Hope all is well wherever you’re located!
I moved away 15 years ago yall need to hit pottsburg creek
That’s one place I haven’t fished yet. Been wanting to take the kayak. Launch at beach Blvd paddlesports?
@@VISUAL-LY or right there on university
Or live shrimp
@@Psy6o yeah, I already know that place in and out and not trying to make too many videos there lol
@@VISUAL-LY yeah keep it secret it's a beautiful place
As much as I like your normal videos, it was nice to see a change in scenery. If you ever need a kayak partner hmu.-Lonnie Wilmoth
Will do!
Have you been out lately
Nah, not downtown at all
Bro y’all look my age are y’all like 20 something I need some homies to fish with 😭 I live on the Southside
Jay might be around your age, not me lol
Contact him on one of his pages!
Im in Jacksonville fl. Ive got a spot to show you if your interested 😅
Let’s go!
@@VISUAL-LY I'm down! I don't have a vehicle right now though 😅 it was totaled. But I have my poles and tackle ready at a moments notice. I'm off work weekends just let me know!
Saltwater? What do you catch there?
Click bait!!!
First spot all.u needed was some live shrimp
I need to start fishing live shrimp. Maybe when it gets cooler so they don’t die in the heat. Thanks for the info!
