Ending was a bit abrupt but I love that this was done! The Netflix film was wonderful but it did not dig deep into Ma Rainey's life like Queen Latifah's "Bessie" did for Bessie Smith. Ma Rainey was the premiere Star of The Blues! Not until Bessie Smith who was Ma's Protege, emerged was there anyone to rival her. Much less surpass her.
