He did a Q&A about the production and it’s hilarious because they knew the production was gonna be shit so parts like Me Inside of Me were made into a shitshow on purpose. Also apparently Heather C’s lines about hating everyone were not actually breaking character and were added by the students on purpose lmao
I think he could've done better if he was directed properly and had someone better to be on stage with Than a Veronica who can't remember half of her text.
I kinda feel bad after watching this. Watching Illegal Heathers is kinda like hacking into somebody's phone line and reading their emails. This doesn't seem like it was meant to be seen by other people.

He just wasn't directed right and also you can't really play off that Veronica when she doesn't even care to remember _half her script. _ I know how it is when your partner on stage doesn't remember their text and you just stand their panicking because your cue was in the forgotten part and you have to improvise to get the play to move forward. I feel kinda bad for him.

D o v e you’re actually 100% right. With better direction he would have been pretty entertaining to watch. His vocals aren’t bad, just a lot, of that makes any sense. I really think if he had a good director, and there was a vocal teacher that was at least there for two rehearsals he would have been pretty good for a boy in a high school production.

I also got my first lead role this year as Cinderella, and now I'm playing Catherine in a production of Pippin!

Honestly i agree with everyone on Heather C and Ms. Fleming being the only ones who could've provoked genuine emotion or laughter from anyone in the audience. It's a shame they were brought down by the people near them, though. i mean the other students who mostly were in songs with fleming were so unenergetic- i feel like they could've been so much better if they just put in more effort. and then heather c had to sing "yo girl" alone? like, she did really good for having to sing a trio by herself, but it couldn't carry the whole show. in fact, i think all the actors could've done better if they had been directed better or tried harder. i mean, veronica... well she could probably do SOMETHING, but i could never be able to tell with this performance. JD seemed like he could at least sing pretty decently, but it somehow still had the show be a complete flop. sorry heather c, sorry fleming.
Jenny T20 this is me in my drama class at school, I am forced to take drama one with all the people who were forced in to the class or need it for their art credit, it sucks the fun out of everything
it's almost as if they put effort into casting only one person who could sing and act, and only one person who could over-act but still stays close to her character (aka Ms Fleming), but then proceed to cast the worst singers and actors for the other parts
Ms. Fleming has a good voice. Only 2 people who can sing are Heather C. And Ms. Fleming. Their Candy Store sounded terrible because in Candy Store you're supposed to have the whole female cast singing the background parts.

i mean, they didn’t completely fail at the harmonies in seventeen thank god. if they had messed those up the poor audience would have had to hear an off pitch harmony for a whole 4 bars. also yes i agree buy nico and the niners on itunes

Illegal Heathers has taught me the importance of character death. Without Kurt and Ram dying the tension between Veronica and JD feels like it goes from 0 to 100 way too fast.

The guy who plays jd actually has a lot of potential. First of all, we can hear him, even though the projection is not perfect, we can atleast HEAR HIM. Plus, he seems like he's got a good voice and some control over it too. He just needs good direction to tell him which part of his voice he has to utilise and when, because he does seem like singer with a good range. I blame the directors, a lot of these kids have potential. Even Veronica. She forgot her lines, but again, bad direction, nervousness, insecurities..it can lead to that. Veronica needs to learn how to use her chest voice effectively. That seems to be a problem with many girls here. A few vocal exercises are necessary to strengthen their foundation..it doesn't require a lot of time..what's wrong with the teachers, they can't take their students seriously, now? I blame it all on the teachers. These guys tried their best. Heather Chandler and Flemming, of course, were very good. Again, people are talking about lack of chemistry here.. but that's mostly because they seem to stand far away, because they don't seem to know any better plus they're highschool kids, so they have some boundaries, so working around that can be hard. Again, bad direction. Apparently, the teachers quit the show and students (who seem to have no experience) had to direct themselves..I mean what do you expect? What kind of teacher just quit? I have a lot of respect for these students to go perform even when their they weren't prepared. Blame the teacher. I have no respect for that person.
