    In today's video we are replacing a very worn-out gasket on the oil filter housing. This is a very common problem on all BMW E90's and is a very easy and quick repair. This gasket failing can cause oil to leak all over the bottom of your engine and appear that it is leaking from everywhere.
    Below I have left all the parts I used, including any tools needed as a guide for this job from Amazon:

    Also only supposed to use the aluminum bolts once so you not facing the same problem in 5k miles

      You are correct. However, when a customer brings me their car and don't provide the parts or are willing to, you gotta do what you gotta do.
      Can update though, this car probably has over 20k leak free miles after this repair🫡

    Hey man cool video but just a heads up you have the wrong kind of coolant just a friendly heads up🙂

    • @Mechani_Cole
      @Mechani_Cole  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but if it's already Green and the customer doesn't want to change it then I leave it the same color. You can't mix the 2 different colors

      True but bmw does recommends the blue coolant but I guess up to the customer like you said🙂

    Hello, I noticed you have your coolant reservoir open. Did you have to add a lot of anti-freeze and purge the coolant system afterwards? Thanks!

    • @Mechani_Cole
      @Mechani_Cole  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question! Yes, anytime you remove any coolant its important to bleed the system.
      Yes, I had to fill up a little under 1 gallon

      @@Mechani_Cole One more question....Was that a 1/4" drive and universal joint you used to remove the rear bolt?

    • @Mechani_Cole
      @Mechani_Cole  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it was. The 3/8s didn't fit well. But the 1/4 is perfect😁

    You made this look like cake and my mechanic is charging me $450 labor to do this meanwhile my water pump + thermostat labor was cheap

    • @Mechani_Cole
      @Mechani_Cole  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Damn, I need to up my prices! I did this for only $120. It took me less than 45 minutes. Sounds like your mechanic is a rip off😳
      This is probably one of the easiest things to replace on this car
