    Excellent. I didn't realize the screws simply screw into the bumper plastic itself and not into a nut or thread behind the bumper. Note, don't overtightened the screws, else you'll easily strip the plastic

    So, if you get the bracket that's meant for your car specifically, you'll notice that there's dimples on the front bumper. This is on any newer vehicle that I've seen. Those are literally the drill points on the bumper in order for it to be centered if you're using the correct bracket, opposed to just adding it directly to the front bumper.

      Yeah my 2020 Hyundai Tucson came with a front license plate mount by the spare tire. I was looking for the mounting point and it’s just held in with one self tapping screw, and it’s molded to fit the front bumper (with indents for where it’s supposed to be mounted). Then you would put the license plate on the mount.

    I got a factory bracket that added rubber which sticks to the back of the bracket for tightness. I don't trust peel & stick but with gorilla glue added it will not come off. Plus it came with soft inserts to the bumper which tightens when you screw the plate on, it's very firm.

If you are comfortable using a drill, you should be fine based off the drill bit I suggested and where you mark the holes. If you are uncomfortable at all and have a reliable mechanic, you could take it to them as well and they usually would install your license plate for free. Thanks for watching!

    • @SumukhComedy
      @SumukhComedy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are concerned at all with doing this, then go to a reputable mechanic to do this for you. As pointed out by a commenter, many car manufacturers actually have perforations on the front bumper to indicate where you should drill the holes into (which should prevent your concern). This is a video for those who want to do it themselves and save time & money but, again, if you feel any concerns with it, I always encourage viewers to do what is most comfortable for you and go to a professional if that is what's best. Thanks for watching!

    What is the 7/30 second (?) drill bit? Can you clarify ?

    • @SumukhComedy
      @SumukhComedy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you have an electric drill, you should have a variety of different sized drill bits that you could put into the drill to drill in a hole. What I meant in the video was to use a 7/32" drill bit. If you do not have an electric drill or have knowledge on using one, then I suggest having someone with that knowledge install your plate for you. Thank you for watching.

I understand the content and its great ….but there's a lot that search these videos that need more details. I'm curious as to why you didn't use a nut on the backside? Is it not necessary for the bumper material....I have no experience drilling through a new sports car bumper that's why I'm here.

Velcro really come on you guys go to Toyota or go online and find an aftermarket bracket year make and model specific so it follows the contour of the bumper and It won’t fall off. Velcro good lord

      You can buy hole plugs to match your car paint. I bought some for my Prius when my state no longer required a front plate and my wife like the clean look. The problem was that you have to drill the holes larger to accept the plugs. That seemed kind of stupid to me. I would have to use bigger screws to reinstall the plate bracket in the future. I eventually just ground down the beauty plugs to fit the original holes. It works fine but it doesn't look that much better. PS, most cars sold in states that don't require front plates will not have predrilled holes in the front facia.
