Yes. I was born in the Philippines. Now living in Toronto. 😅 Pumunta ako dito sa Toronto when I was 13 years old. Kinuha ako nang mom ko. Nauna siya damating dito. I’ve been here for 32 years. I am now 45 years old, and I am proud to say, I can still speak Tagalog fluently. Kasi nag tagalog kami sa bahay. ❤❤❤
Maraming salamat. I also saw your tutorial and you teach how to speak proper Tagalog with "po" and "opo". 👍👍👏
Go for 100K subs this year! Your girlfriend is very supportive as well. I hope you can learn tagalog as well and you both come here in the Philippines!
Awesome Jared! You certainly capture Filipinos heart same as with your jowa Nichole. She's such a good sport and very supportive of your work. I one day wanna see her speak Tagalog as well. That will really captivate the hearts of Pinoys. A Latina speaking Tagalog will really be a big hit. Good luck and Mabuhay 🇵🇭
Wow, your Tagalog is really fluent! It's always entertaining to see non-native speakers surprise people with their language skills 😳🤣! My wife is 🇵🇭, and I'm puti... we frequently shop in a big Mexican supermarket near the border. Everyone speaks to her in Spanish, which she doesn't understand at all, and I wind up translating from Spanish to Tagalog! We get a lot of bemused looks 😂
@@Jayyhartmann Nag-aaral pa lang akong magtagalog. I can understand news broadcasts, Wanted sa Radyo, and Filipino true crime podcasts... it gets a bit dicier to understand vernacular Tagalog spoken on the street. Due to laziness on my part, I speak mostly 'Taglish,' though I'm always trying to improve. I speak Spanish about as well as you speak Tagalog. English is my mother tongue.
Nkita nmin yung reactions ng mga Pilipino, sa personal ba ksya sa thru the screen or OmeTv. You’re branching out. Keep it up 🫡🫡
wow, you've come so far from struggling to pronounce the words to an average Filipino speaker really amazes me... I watch every single one of you're vids kuya jared, Its really entertaining.
Perfect good speaking tagalog galing nman subscribe n kita, mga down to earth talaga mga Canadian Sana marefer mo ako trabaho security guard Dyan, wish ko talaga makatrabaho Dyan

Just subscribed Jared, kudos to your vlog and course! Thanks for taking interest in our language so refreshing. May you visit the Philippines in the future as well and talk to as many Filipinos you like everywhere!!!
I have a similar story as you regarding how you were able to learn a language that is not your ethnicity since your city has a lot of immigrants from the country of that language. Im Canadian too and my city has a lot of Iranian people so im trying to learn Farsi/Persian so i can talk with them, yet i have no Persian blood whatsoever 😂.
It really freaks out older Iranians (pre-revolution) when an American speaks to them in modern Persian... especially when you are roughly the same age. They ALWAYS ask, "Were you CIA?" Hahaha! No... married a Persian Princess! 😂🤣❤️🇨🇦❤️🇮🇷
I grew up in the Philippines. I think this guy uses the latest lingo that wasn’t popular back then like: jowa, and sana-all, the frequent use of ate/kuya and po/ opo (I think this was popularized by actor/actress interviews). Tropa was around but not used as frequent as he uses it.
Hi Jared alam mo habang pinapanood ko itong video mo nakanganga ako amazed na amazed ako SAYO salamat kung ma meet KITA NG personal naku baka nayakap KITA NG mahigpit❤❤❤❤
Hello Jared, Thank you for creating the tagalog coursr. There aren't or maybe there are few sources to learn the language online. But it's not as good as what you made! Thank you for sharing the language!!!!
Better to do more vlogs like this one, to actual interact with Filipinos and not just doing interview with them on line, suggestion ko lang po yon dahil tingin ko mas maraming manonood ng ganitong klaseng content mo 😊
I don’t know how you don’t get tired of these reactions and the conversations, I feel like it’s same conversation every time. I meet a Filipino and I speak some Tagalog and suddenly it’s the same ten questions and I totally get it, I don’t blame them, and of course I’m proud to speak the language, but idk. Over time the fun aspect of that wears off. I go to Seafood City or Jollibee and I just speak Tagalog and people can think whatever they want to but I’m not gonna stand there and share my life story 😂😂 anyway, Filipinos love your videos so good on you, keep going. I think it would be really cool if you did a Tagalog/Taglish podcast just interviewing Filipino Canadians, it would be educational and good immersion content for learners. 🙂
Thank you for learning our national language, but Filipinos don’t stop there. Being amazed is the first impression, that will lead to getting to know then apparently friendship. Filipinos love to embrace you even if you don’t speak our language. And if you do, the connections gets deeper. For sure Jared have a tons of Filipino friends and even I myself didn’t have a chance to meet him, he is now my friend and would love to tour him on some of the islands in my country 😊
@@aexa04 oh don't worry, I learned initially because I had a lot of Filipino friends where I was living at the time, and now I try to get involved and support community events when I can where I live now :) I was just kind of complaining about the little random interactions with strangers, which can get old.
antes means before in hiligaynon/ilonggo as well. antes ka magkaon... before you eat... *u can use this word in this context nagtrabaho ka sa Korea antes ka nagpa-Canada. You worked in Korea before u came to Canada.
You need to go to Hongkong supermarket at 17th Ave on weekends when it's really packed. Then Seafood City somewhere around Sunridge. Also at TNT on 36St beside Canadian tire, where Jollibee is on the same building 🙂
