John Fisher has proven to be a cheapskate and an incompetent owner for not only the A's, but also the San Jose Earthquakes. If anyone believes he's really going to invest in the team after they move to Vegas, I have a bridge to sell you. The A's are doomed to fail with John Fisher at the helm no matter what city they're in. Nevermind that this is a tragedy for Oakland, it's just plain embarrassing for baseball. Fisher must sell.
Plus Vegas has always been a major Dodgers town. I'm not saying they will never have a fanbase, but it's gonna take a while and they need good on field skills to win people over.
A's will eventually stay in Sacramento and build a new stadium in the downtown Sacramento Railyards.....Sacramento population is growing. Oakland is a mess, plus the Giants wants to dominate the bay area and doesn't want to share the territory.
The overhead of a decrepit, overbuilt stadium in oakland is a lot, sure, but the water/cooling bills as well as the materials needed to build a domed stadium are going to be a hell of a lot of money. South Nevada is as rough politically and rougher weather-wise than California with the added stress of the Colorado River drought. The only real advantage is that people are moving into Vegas for work and seasonal weather, and people are moving out of Oakland and the Bay Area- especially people who had money to spend on the A's.

Can you give empirical evidence that the other 2 teams that have gone in to Las Vegas recently in the Raiders and the Golden Knights haven’t had financial success? No of course you can’t lol. “With a passionate fan base.” Did Milwaukee not have one when the Braves left? Did Philly or KC not have one when these A’s themselves left? Teams leave. It happens. Especially when you want to get out of city that is dying quickly.
