    Marc Maron is the best dad humor for people who no longer have dads.

    Thanks for roughly summarizing my childhood as well, sir. Your comedy is like my therapy. Shared therapy. Sharapy.

    Marc Maron isn't like other comedians. He's pretty funny sometimes but he does a lot of on-stage psychological introspection for its own sake. Kind of a weird route to go if you're calling yourself a comedian but I personally appreciate it, but that might just be because I relate so well to it.

      Yeah a lot of people don’t get him or Louis CK that much but I get them both pretty well.

      I think that's what makes it art because so many can relate to it such as yourself. To me the best art has some profound insight on the human condition

    I went from really disliking Maron's standup to adoring it. Maybe it's because I got to know him through his podcast, but honestly I find his style addictive and very creative. After watching a lot of cookie cutter stand up, he's very refreshingly funny in his own way.

      Louie said the same thing. Maron was very obnoxious onstage in his early days.

    If you ever made an error in Little League or did anything else that made you look stupid at one time in your life you can relate and this is funny.

    The "talking to his young self" tag at the end felt quite Stewart Lee-ish.
    A compliment, of course.

    • @josejesuspalmerin8554
      @josejesuspalmerin8554 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I know what you mean. That whole conversation with the younger self, specially the part where acknowledges the audience, is definitely influenced by Stewart Lee. I wonder what the timeline looks like for when Maron discovered Lee, watched his dvds and show, had him on his podcast and when he wrote that piece. Has he addressed it? I haven't listened to all the shows, but it'd be interesting how he would rationalize this.
