His clean, crisp, and stoic style of surfing has made him quite the icon in the world of surfing.
The Modern Keel template by True Ames is a unique keel fin template which boasts many of the traditional elements of a keel fin, but also includes more modern tri fin features. The Modern Keel has a lengthy base and an extended amount of rake that will provide exceptional amounts of drive, however, the trailing edge and tip area match the taper and curve of a modern, performance tri fin allowing for more pivot and release-off the top, and through the end of a turn. They have an 80/20 foil to help release the fin through a turn. They’re built in hexcore construction in an attempt to lighten the load.
These will pair great with a traditional style Lis fish, especially when looking for a little more performance. Or they may be a interesting alternative to a more performance focused twin fin that needs a little more drive and hold than an upright, MR style twin fin setup.

Love modern keel fins they are the best feeling fins in more boards then just fish designs. I think a lot of us surfers get stuck in our own ways and need to experiment more with fins and equipment and be surprised how some things that don’t look right sometimes end up working the best.

Fins are likely not cavitating, which is the creation of bubbles along the fin surface as the pressure is so low from the amount of lift the water boils. They are stalling which is when they stop generating lift because the angle of attack is too high.

@@IplaygameS2.0252 that is caused by imperfections on the trailing edge of the fin. The faster you go the more likely it is going to cause the fin to vibrate and make noise. It is an easy fix with a piece of sandpaper.

@@kyledexheimer6548 how many surfboard vents do I need on my eps surfboard to leave it in my car all day in summer? And why don't polyester boards have vents if they have been known to delam from hot cars too?
