      The No. 2 Caster Arm bushings will be done at some point, as they are beginning to crack on my car, so stay tuned for that video sometime in the future. The brakes will also be done, though I can't speak to when since the pads were replaced a short time ago. Thanks for watching!

    Great videos by the way on the gs’s. I have been hearing noise like my ball joints or stabilizer tensioner ?with my 2001 gs300 passengers side it makes a rattling noise when I hit bumps on the road while driving. I’ve replaced upper control arm and lower ball joints and tie rods but the noise is still their but not as much. Any thoughts.

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had strut mounts (the upper mount with the integrated bearing) make a rattling noise on other Toyotas, sort of like a muffled marbles in a can sound over rough roads and bumps. I've heard of occasional issues with the mounts on the GS, but not sure if that's what's going on with yours - you could try lubricating to see if they are the issue and then replace as necessary. Mine has a light clunk currently from under the floorboards, but I believe I've narrowed it down to the caster arms, which I will replace once the temperature has dropped here in Arizona (still almost 100 degrees most days). Those are a very well known and documented wear item, so you should check the bushings in yours as well. Hope that helps you narrow it down a bit, and thanks for watching!

    My ac started to blow warm air and I’m not sure why. I noticed the compressor is engaging so I bought ac pro but the gauge was brought to red upon immediate install. I also notice the modes aren’t switching..fans can increase but no modes work. Front vent or rent vent mode don’t switch but the indicator lights come on. I’m thinking that’s affecting the a/c button but I do hear a sound shift upon pressing the A/C button. What could it be?
    Also A/C heater never worked, was stuck on freezing cold.

    Hey bro! Nice knowledge and i really wanna how to take out these motors. I got these three motors totally new. Just wanna know how to replace them. Because i was little scared after knowing about the airbag thing.

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you disconnect the battery and wait about 15 minutes before disconnecting the airbag, you shouldn't have any issues with that part. This job isn't awful, but the passenger's side of the car is very tight to replace one of the servos and it takes quite a bit of finesse to get it out and back in successfully. You can easily finish the job in an afternoon if you are mechanically inclined. Thanks for watching!

      In my opinion, with the age of these cars, all three should be rebuilt or replaced. You can definitely only do one at a time, but since most of the time spent on the job is in disassembly and reassembly (and there is a lot of time spent there), it makes the most sense to me to do all at once. Hope that helps!

    Great video. Trying to diagnose my '05 ES problem. The mode servo is not working. It is not making ANY noise. I replaced the evaporator core, and everything worked flawlessly for 8 weeks. Now air is stuck on feet and defrost. Are the doors jammed in the evaporator housing? Or has the servo gone bad?

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the temperature adjustment worked before you servicing the servos, chances are one of them is due for actual replacement. I would try swapping out the offending one, though if the problem persists temperature controllers can be had used on eBay for relatively cheap. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

    Hello. Thank yoy for another great video. I had a problem in Lexus GS 2012. When AC is on and set to cooling it blows cold air from ftont vents and at the same time hot air from back passanger vents. Do you have an idea where to find a solution? servos or something else?

      I have the same problem in a 2002 GS350 2015 Lexus IS350 F Sport. The AC is not coming out cold on the passenger side. I don't think there's a way where you can put the heat on in the rear and not in the front at the same time. Everybody says servo or actuator

    Just replaced two of these yesterday, and one other a few months before. It's the most annoying repair i've ever done! Major pain in the... Especially the one behind the pipes! It took like 5 hours yesterday only, and another few a few months before. I also had to ask my mate to help, he's got smaller hands, lol. Now all the three on the passenger side are brand new.
    I also have the fourth servo but i don't even know where it is, lol. Probably on the driver side? But luckily it's not bad (yet) so i'll fiddle with it once it needs attention.

      @@janoskovari9295 Mine has been extremely reliable - other than preventative maintenance items, I've never had something major break. The highest expense failures were door lock actuators, to the tune of roughly $500 in parts and a couple hours of my labor. Not terrible for parts 17 years old, and certainly reasonable in my opinion.

    I've got this occasional loud electric motor sound coming from directly behind the middle console that lasts around 10 - 30 seconds. It's not a ticking noise, it's a loud, constant electric motor type sound. It always goes after after that time but reoccurs either later that day or sometimes a week later. It's been doing it for years now and it does seem to be affected by me altering the temperature setting. Is these services? What could it be?

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be the servos, definitely sounds climate control related if it changes with temperature actuation. Definitely something that needs diagnosis piece by piece unless you can get it in front of an experienced Lexus/Toyota tech and they diagnose from experience and by sound. Thanks for watching!

    How would I know which one to replace? The clicking appears to be centralized, not on one side or the other...

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The best way would be to stick your head under the driver's side and passenger side dash to determine which side of the center console the clicking is on. When sitting in the driver's seat, it will sound like it comes from the center, but once underneath you will be able to tell. In my case, I knew the issue would be impending on the main set of servos, so I just took care of them all in one whack. Thanks for watching!

    Would a bad servo somehow stopp ac from blowing cold ? From what I understand servo only directs air, yet someone suggested that it's the reason for my ac to randomly not work (more and more not lately) now I know servo is bad cuz I hear it, and because the windshield defrost gets not air. But as for ac - got freon, got proper pressure, no leaks. So i assumed pressure switch and a tech (Lexus tech) suggesting it's servo is the reason.didnt get to ask him why or how. Does it make sense to you ?
    Thank you for the video !!

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can, basically your AC system is still working, but the blend door controlled by a servo that changes from full cold (AC) air that's blown thru the evaporator core, to full warm air thru the heater core, or somewhere between, does what it wants to or stops responding entirely. When this happens, you can certainly get no AC. Thanks for watching!

It almost sounds like a coffee pot dripping or whatever that noise is that it makes lol another way to describe it would be it almost sounds like a little machine tryna send signals or something.. it’s not loud at all and you can only really hear it when the windows are all up, the cars stopped completely and the radio is off. Any idea what that may be? I was thinking servo but im not experiencing any issues with the climate controls. Let me know your thoughts before I go ahead and move forward. Thanks

      It could indeed be the servos - when mine started to act up, I didn't have huge issues with climate controls, but heard a "tick tick tick" noise behind the dash, almost like the servos were quietly clacking back and forth hunting for home (which is what they are doing). With that mileage, I wouldn't be surprised if they are starting to go. Thanks for watching!

      It will if the reason it is blowing hot air is because the servo is not responding. If you hear clicking noises behind your dash, then this is likely your issue, but if not, you may simply have an issue with your AC system. Thanks for watching!
