Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I rented a couple of longboards from you guys last month to surf at Doheny. The employees that help us were very kind and took the time to answer lots of our questions. Really like your shop and staff. Thanks!
Great video. It's super important to use your leash properly and it starts with the leash rope. Always inspect the rope and your leash for frays and cuts before you paddle out. It's a more important now that winter surf is coming. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your Board Meetings.
He did not cover a double figure 8 knot that is required for the dakine peahi leash! What do u do if you're leash doesn't open via velcro(on the rail saver end), it is permanently sewn shut?
Yeah thats true we didn't do the figure 8 "bunny ears" knot for the dual leash plug guns. It's been my experience that most of the time there isn't Velcro there's no way to get the leash off the string. This seems to be true with a lot of older leashes. But without seeing the picture it's hard to say for certain with your situation.
I tought I was doing it wrong becouse of the thumbnail, but turns out the image was about the lenght, and not about leaving the knot out of my railsaver
The square knot is a poor choice due to its tendency to slip when going through repetitive loading. The overhand has more of a roll concern but as long as the tails are long enough you're good to go.

Video was way to dark to see what you were doing
Yeah I agree...its ok but not great lighting. We noticed it as well
@@used_surf good tutorial though if you could brighten it up. 👍
Put the camera closer
Why do an overhand instead of a square knot? I’ve done an overhand in the past but a square knot seems like it makes more sense
