Now a days, before flying back to India, I am in London for a week ;-) Recently I got to know, India has changed/stricken the rules for the passengers coming from UK and it seems I need to go through the same rules now when I go back to India 😀 Will explore it later this week and see what all I need to do to return. Hello, I heard we need to call jobcentre plus national insurance number allocation helpline and attend some interview with them. Then they'll apply NIN on behalf of us. Is this correct? Or we can just directly apply online on Government website?

Nope, reference number is not national insurance number so it can't replace national insurance number.

It can take upto 16 weeks usually. My friend got it in 1 month. I haven't got it since past 2 months.

Hii bro I really need u advise .my adhr card address is my parents address .after marrige I have my passport with married status and my my marriage certificate also. But now m not in India but apply for uk visa .so they need adhr card for my bank account but in my application i have passport different addresses it will be any prblm for me if any verification for my funds

Secondly when you go to the post office tell them you need "recorded delivery" signed for. You will be able to track the letter. Otherwise there won't be any proof of delivery. There is no need to go for special delivery in this case. Just ask for recorded delivery at the post office.

Next time whenever you need to post a letter to any department, ask them for a recorded delivery. It is very helpful as you can prove that you posted it. During these busy and unprecedented times, post often gets lost and you can't prove that you posted. Even if your post gets delivered, there is no information who received it. With signed for, you are insured.

Hi Sandeep, did you contact with immigration service of your university? They can guide you on what should be done next.
Contact TNT and see if they have it or you missed it. TNT will be delivering your BRP to the post office. TNT is now taken over by Fedex. So tnt or fedex is one and the same thing.

It's an identity card for your staying and working rights. Google it and you'll find all the details

We applied for NI number.
We got the reference number also but we didn’t receive any such form.
All they mentioned in mail is that they will aim to contact in 16week to tell the application is approved.

Hi Monal, there was no attachment in the email? Usually you have to fill the form and then post documents with filled up form through mail for document verification.

If you are a student, then write an email to the immigration team of your university and ask them what steps you should take further to proceed ahead.
