    When people think of deceased airline they usually think of the really big carriers like TWA or Continental, but there are hundreds of more that have been completely forgotten.

    • @jasminejohnston6393
      @jasminejohnston6393 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah or Pan Am. Here’s a fact: a French play called Boeing Boeing involves a man living in Paris with his three fiancés, all of whom are flight attendants for TWA, Alitalia and Lufthansa. It’s a stupid play so I don’t recommend you look up TH-cam videos of it!

    • @IamPq
      @IamPq 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That does sound like a very bad play, and I did forget about Pan Am. Thank you

      Pq Gaming. Too me I think of (wow air) (Thomas cook) (pan am) (fly bee) (fly BMI)(air Berlin) (Ted)

      Pq Gaming continental became part of united airlines, they never died

    • @IamPq
      @IamPq 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      附Itzharry yeah, they became a part of united, which means united took their fleet. Sure united took the continental livery (recently changed it) but they still did die

    Thank you SO much for featuring Laker. I was working for Portland Holidays - the direct sales side of Thomson, now Tui - at the time. The failure made a huge impact on Portland, allowing it to fill many of its remaining holidays and making the Reservations department very busy. Also Britannia, which was the airline I flew with most. Somewhere I think I have stickers or luggage tags for them!

  • @jkarhiaho

    Interflug got mentioned, I'm happy.
    You did mispronounce Ilyushin though and Schönefeld pronunciation was quite awful, but still way better than Simple Flying's attempt.
    And actually quite a few of Interflug's jets are preserved in Germany which you didn't mention.

    Idea for part 5
    Helios Airways. It was a Greek airline that flew aircraft like the A320.

    It's a very short-lived Malaysian full-service airline which started on 2015 and ended on 2016 due to management, safety and security issues, pilot strikes and lack of funding.
    It operated a fleet of 2 Boeing 734s, with an order of two more B734s, 4 B738s and 2 B772s.

    LTU | LTU was a German holiday airline that was headquarter at Düsseldorf Airport, the airline operated short, medium and long haul routes with aircraft such as A320, 737 and A330, the airline also had bases at Munich Airport and Berlin Tegel.
    The airline was known for operating charter and holiday flights, with destinations to Asia, Africa, America and a route to Male on the Maldives, the airline was founded in 1955 and went through several names.
    In 2007-2009 the airline merged with AirBerlin and airberlin acquired the whole fleet and half of LTU’s crew for their A330s etc, before AirBerlin shut down a lot of their fleet were from LTU.
    The airline owned a company named LTE which was a small holiday/charter airline in Palma De Mallorca, the airline was LTU’s subsidiary before LTU merged in 2009 causing LTE to merge some of their aircrafts and crews with AirBerlin too.

    Sabena should be in the next part for sure, they were the largest Belgian airline ever (bigger than Brussels Airlines today) and they had a diverse fleet from BAe 146's to 737's to DC-10's to 747's, they also received the last ever passenger MD-11 ever built. SN Brussels Airlines and Virgin Express are also 2 good ones for the next list, they both merged together to create Brussels Airlines we know today.
