    I occasionally pick up books. When I do, they tend to be first edition, vintage, and signed. In the vintage world I have sold books where I paid $1 and got $250 or more. No ISBN numbers, need to recognize authors and titles.

    I just binged watched the 6th posting from you. I have been a reseller for 5 years now and sell on Amazon and eBay. In 2020 my gross sales were $144,000. However, my eBay store only accounted for $20,000 of the total. This year's goal is to get eBay really producing. I think books may help a lot. Got some horse breaking/training books a few months back when the charity shops were open before second lockdown, they weren't cheap at £2 each (approx $3.40) but managed to make a half decent profit, although after re-checking the comps back home on the desktop found the potential profits not to be so good. Sometimes have to build that into your judgement when purchasing. Do you tend to put extra protection on the corners when packaging the box sets or is your standard method sufficient. Great content as always.

    • @backfromburnout
      @backfromburnout  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sometimes I find the desktop can vary to the mobile which is why I always recheck the higher books before listing.
      I still just send the boxed sets in the padded mailers and I’ve never had anyone say they have arrived damaged so I think it’s sufficient padding :)

    So weird. I was in a charity shop this morning and saw the Lemony Snicket When Did You Last See Her hard back book for 50cents in excellent, as mew condition. I Know nothing about books and thought nothing of it. Jumped in my car and saw I had a notification for this video so I sat and watched it. Was gobsmacked when I saw you'd just bought a whole set of these and more surprised that they do sell for good money. I quickly checked the comps on the one I saw then raced back inside and bought it 😁
    Fingers crossed I can sell it fir a decent price

    Hi Mel :)I recently found your channel and have been enjoying all the great info. I was wondering if you charge shipping or list with free shipping...or does it depend on the book or say if it's a heavy book vs. a really light weight book?

    • @backfromburnout
      @backfromburnout  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, welcome to my channel! Most of the time I sell with free shipping so my prices will include that. It's very common for books to be listed with free shipping so buyers are used to that. However sometimes with a larger bundle or a more expensive book I do put the shipping as an extra.

    Question please? How do you post the heavy books? In boxes or wrap them in cardboard. Over a 1kg cost about $12-$15. So do you pay the postage cost? Can you please do a video on packing up books if possible please.

    • @backfromburnout
      @backfromburnout  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still post them in the padded mailers. The postage is calculated by the size of my mailer - small, medium and large - so they all have the same weight limit of 5kg.
      I have a video here on shipping books but the bundles are still sent exactly the same way.
      th-cam.com/video/9DeUk9GkPh0/w-d-xo.html
      Also, in this video in the middle of my time lapse as I was packing them to ship I stopped and showed how I was putting a bundle of 4 books in a large mailer.
