    Just a little question. Why are all you're quintets aimed at SAATB? I might be wrong here, but I would've thought, that a saxophone quintet consisted of the same saxophone combination as in a bigband: AATTB.
    I can see how the Soprano ads flexibillity in the tonal range, but they are just so rare. And rarer yet are the people who can actually play them. At least where I am coming from.

      I mean it depends on the piece on how it was arranged, but from the pieces that I seen in general it is usually SAATB or SATTB, though there can be AATTB, it all depends on the composer/arranger. As for the Soprano being rare, I don't think that it is that rare, as there are lot of SATB quartets compared to AATB. But then I can see how it is rarer in a way, as on ensembles we rarely use sop. sax.
