They're both awesome phones. I just purchased the Note 5 because of the S Pen. I'm very pleased with my decision! I also got the OtterBox Defender case and took out that cheap plastic screen protector and have the Zagg Invisible Glass Shield for my screen protector. I love it!

There's almost zero difference in terms of camera in the s7 edge and note 5. I have used both and taken multiple pics in different conditions for both the phones but the image that comes out is always the same. TBH, the S7 edge is almost similar as a note 5 and what makes it different is the appearance. If you like flat screen and s pen, go with note 5. If you like a curved screen with an amazing fit in your palm, go with s7

every note 5 I had was terrible in the battery life aspect where I have the regular s7 and it's outstanding just used it all day and still has 45 % battery I am a heavy user as well so this is amazing !!
there is a big difference or differences ,the s 7 edge is water resistant and dust resistant, bigger battery and has a SD card and more powerful specs
No S7 edge plus or if there was one it would have a 6.0 inches display and 4000mah battery

stock Touchwiz allows custom themes from Samsung's own store. It is touchwiz running a different theme

Is the gold color that much different on the S7 edge compared to the Note 5 in real life?
What about the aluminum frame color? Is it gold too on the S7 edge? It looks like more silver to me..
In real life the Note 5's finish is more of a platinum/gold hybrid & changes with the lighting. The 2016 gold platinum as seen on the S7 is basically just straight up gold - minus the 'platinum'.
I personally prefer the former as it looks like a myriad of stunning colors on my N5 & my wife's S6!

I'm getting a new phone in April, I'm wondering which one I should get, I'm leaning toward the Note 5 because of the bigger screen, but I like the faster processor in the S7 edge is the speed difference really noticeable in day to day use?

+Hassaan Khalid +nicktheg00 I dont have either phone, but I have preordered the s7 edge. Screen wise, the size of the s7 edge wont be that noticabe, plus it has a sleeker look imo. Speed wise, I think the faster processor may be taken advantage of in the future.
I've got the Note 5. Battery for me on the AT&T carrier is not too great, and I can't root it! It goes down pretty fast, and I don't have any power eating features enabled. I don't have the S7 Edge, however it does have a much larger 3600 MAH Battery, and a .2 inch smaller display, which theoretically should make the battery life quite a bit better. I bet it's better than the Note 5, however. Plus, the S7 Edge is IP68 Water Resistant, and you can expand the storage up to 200 GB. The only thing it is missing is a significantly better camera, and Quick Charge 3.0...
+nicktheg00 im used to phablets , note 2 note 4 , 6P , i had a look at the S7 phones on friday , they are truly a nice bit of kit , but even the bigger of the 2 S phones, the edge feels much smaller in hand , maybe thats a good thing ?

note 6 is due out in September/October i think , note 6 if rumors are correct it should be the best yet. ....... if we can wait ?

why is there a black border around the camera now instead of it using the entire display like the note 5 does, is that a software thing??
It's the ratio. The S7 Edge has a 4:3 ratio at it's highest megapixel count, which is 12 megapixels, which is not full screen, but it has a wider view, to fit more in the shot. As in the Note 5/S6 (Both the Note 5 and S6 have the same camera) have a 16:9 ratio at it's highest resolution, which is full screen, but it doesn't have as wide of a view. However, you can lower the megapixel count on the S7/S7 Edge to 9.1 megapixels, to have it be full screen.

I would have said something before if I would have seen it. But yeah, either way, they both take great shots! I have the S7 Edge, and it takes beautiful pictures. They only thing I'm not a fan of, is that all of the photos that I take, are very over sharpened. They don't look very natural.
imserious2187 s7 edge is awesome but the edge features look like a toy it had no thing to do with the edge display like note edge was unfortuntly that was a true innovation. The display is so small and the brightness is lower. its not to say that s7 edge is bad but the lack of s pen and smaller screen is a deal breaker for me.

That is touchwiz. You can put themes from the phone's own theme settings.
In the video, s7 focuses much faster but appears alot grainier. Obviously because it's now 12mp.

The battery life is better in the note 5 since your getting 3,020mAh which is not much of a big difference from the S7 where your now getting 3,000mAh other than that everything else lines up as far as specs go. If you are looking to just upgrade to a newer phone I would choose the S7 other than that there is no real big difference besides size.

I wish Verizon had the silver version in the Note 5. I just got it a few days ago, so I'd exchange it for color alone if I could find it. 2 crazy awesome devices though. It was a tough choice but I'm loving the additional features of the Note series S-pen.

A lot of these "improvements" are null and void once you put 6.0.1 on the Note 5. Personal preference on looks, obviously. The Note 6 should be amazing. I hope they can waterproof it with the S-pen slot though. Thanks for the reviews, man!
