For me, I feel her confidence and charisma IN the moments she doesn't know who Harambe is, or laughs all the time in TNTL because her reactions are so genuine. One character that is not confident that comes to mind is Shayne's Crusty White Dog. This character made me laugh so bad, he is miserable (in the best way possible)

Thought I’d just say Smosh Mouth makes my Monday, living in the uk the episodes usually drop around when I’m starting to make dinner, so I’ll usually listen while doing that. Also the chemistry Shayne and Amanda have is really fun and makes the podcast what it is.
I really like the toned down more conversation based episodes like this. Don't get me wrong The gimmick episodes are fun but there's something nice about these. It feels like just chilling out and having coffee with your friends
I genuinely love listening to the creative process and how the characters evolve. Listening to Amanda talk about getting lost in her characters and blacking out during performance was really interesting and relatable. I love the focus on the pov too rather than the voice and such. I think that is one of the reasons Shayne and Amanda are such great actors and creators
I know it wasn’t for TNTL and there maybe isn’t a whole lot that can be done with the character, but Shayne talking about how he’ll just bring certain characters back makes me wish Chanse would bring back Jerry Spruce from the Spud Hut

I think someone once in a Smosh video commented that all of Amanda's characters are these blue-collar workers for some reason, and usually revolve around them and their begrudging profession.

Amanda's dove character can get a LOT of play. in TNTL if someone's bit is failing, just pop out "I WILL NOW RELEASE THE DOVE" will fucking KILL
One character that is not confident that comes to mind is Shayne's Crusty White Dog. This character made me laugh so bad, he is miserable (in the best way possible)
no but literally - y'all are so brave for the characters you play bc you have gotta commit to it completely and at that point when y'all do characters i don't see you guys as the smosh cast members i see you as the characters and that blows my mind - like in my head the characters are completely different people
To this day I think Courtney's character she played in the interviewing shaynes exes is my fav one shes done, it was soo amazing. Would love for that series to come back, great way to introduce and create characters.

32:49 I think this is part of what made The Chosen such a hit, because if part of his character was his sexuality and him leering on sexy video game women and stuff like than then it goes from funny and endearing to like "I know this guy and he's a creep." The Chosen is someone we know who has no negativity to put out into the world, he's self-centered in the most goofy middle schooler way, if he wasn't no fap then it'd be uncomfortable to have The Chosen around. He's perfectly nonthreatening.
Thought I’d just say Smosh Mouth makes my Monday, living in the uk the episodes usually drop around when I’m starting to make dinner, so I’ll usually listen while doing that. Also the chemistry Shayne and Amanda have is really fun and makes the podcast what it is.

The Teletubbies reunion is one of the best things ever! Kills me every time.
I genuinely love listening to the creative process and how the characters evolve. Listening to Amanda talk about getting lost in her characters and blacking out during performance was really interesting and relatable. I love the focus on the pov too rather than the voice and such. I think that is one of the reasons Shayne and Amanda are such great actors and creators
I know it wasn’t for TNTL and there maybe isn’t a whole lot that can be done with the character, but Shayne talking about how he’ll just bring certain characters back makes me wish Chanse would bring back Jerry Spruce from the Spud Hut

I love to hear insight on the depth of a lot of these characters… honestly, similarly to the sketch writing with Olivia, I think it would be fun to do an episode of character creation to get a taste the process. That always sounds like so much fun.

Grateful to the time that goes into it, the crew that help make it, and obviously to Shayne and Amanda for chatting to us like this. I know Smosh is often silly and playful, but it's also cool just hearing these deeper chats that are still sometimes silly and playful and hilarious, but also reflective and considered and balanced.
