I’m pretty sure this somehow was made using Eurocom’s proprietary engine, EngineX or redubbed as EngineXT, which was first created during their first game to use that engine, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy and other games Eurocom develops. Or it somehow used a different game engine, rather than Unreal Engine, but 3, CryEngine or other game engines. But seeing those, seemed to be more reasonable, but pretty neat with much of how it was in development, but being worked on for either at least a few months or weeks.
It seems to reuse a lot of assets from the cancelled SM4 game or at least takes heavy inspiration from it; Raimi Suit Healthbar icon, Raimi credits style loading screen, the SM4 Suit model.
From the looks of it, it looked like Eurocom’s cancelled Spider-Man game was going to a side scrolling beat ‘em up, as a tribute to the Spider-Man Games of the 90s, like Maxinum Carnage and the Spider-Man X-Men series of games on the NES.
0:55 the xbox prototype was developed after Spider-Man 4 got cancelled and fell under, it uses alot of the same assets, which comprise of new assets made for SM4 and from [Prototype]. this game was actually meant too be made for the lower performing consoles (Wii, DS, PS2) as a 2.5D Side scroller. i have the development documents on hand and these have some cool info on them, i can send them over if you'd like. 1:39 this level is only a building model, the building is ripped straight from prototype. 6:02 i think its due to eurocom not doing financially well, only shutting down 2 years later. this game again not being suitable for the modern consoles at the time and shattered dimensions being a bigger and better spider-man game. also sorry if it seems like im being a keyboard warrior, im just trying to help out since information with this game is so scarce, also thanks for showing off my mod lol.
Really appreciate the insight! Always cool to learn more from someone who knows more about a topic. I also didn't know you made the mod, you did a good job!
The fighting animations of Spider-Man are similar to the animations that Spider-Man has in The Amazing Spider-Man game, so TAS may have recycled some animations from this game
I think so that this spider man game start develop in 2010 after the Spider man 4 move game got cancel that's reason this game hash spider man 4 models also i think so that this game turn into the amazing Spider-Man game in 2012 later on.
To be honest, maybe it is good that this lost game were never developed. Because, to me from my perspective it just looks like that poor quality version of Spider-Man Web of Shadows Amazing Allies Edition, that came out to PS2, PSP and, probably Wii? I don't remember. But I will say that I enjoy previous old Spider-Man games because, they have this like charm of games from those years. Heck, I still remember days of when I played Spider-Man 3 The Game. That was crazy experience. God, I wish I could go back and re-live those times again. They were so amazing.
Looking at the combat in this unfinished product makes me hope this was still up for some adjustment to make it more fun to play, cause it looks like a downgrade in speed and smoothness compared to the PS2 games (2004-2005).
I was watching some Spiderman (2000) by Neversoft videos (one of my favorite nostalgic games) and got this interesting video recommended. :D If you are curious about obscure games in general, maybe you'd like to check out Captain Claw on The Claw Recluse fansite (2D platformer with a pirate cat) and Przygody Reksia aka Adventures of Reksio the dog (polish 2D point and click adventure series mainly intended for children) - this playlist has english youtube subtitles: th-cam.com/video/16Vzt1lMvfs/w-d-xo.html
This could have been a cool game. I hate when game developers waste their potentials. There is nothing worse than stop working on a good game idea that could have been a classic
With it being a 2.5d game on Xbox makes me think this was gonna be a Xbox live arcade game which was very popular at the time.
Very likely!
Or Spidey's adaption of Origins Blackgate
Maximum Carnage HD

Being just a prototype this looks really good
I think I would've liked this game if it was finished, reminds me of Spider-Man 4 for the Wii and the handheld Spider-Man games

Dude this video is dope, the editing is cool, interesting topic and very detailed.
Btw if you want to do more videos like this, I remember hearing on reddit once that web of shadows was originally a marvel zombies game 🤷♀️
@@mr_nosnow8585thank you my man 🙏 I appreciate it. I haven’t heard about that before, I’ll see if I can look into it!
Very underrated. Hope your videos blow up
Thank you my brother
Correction: Treyarch didn't work on Web of Shadows. Shaba Games did, and they went out of business shortly after its release.
It was actually both Shaba games and treyarch that worked on web of shadows, look it up
It’s sad. WoS was actually a super awesome Spider-Man game.
@@TrueSpider-Man apparently the sequel was gonna let you play as wolverine
The web of shadows swing gives me life
Never knew a out this game! The suit looks awesome! Reninds me alot of the Spider-Man web of shadows amazing allies edition! Great video man😁
Thank you bro!
This might be the cancelled Spider-Man: Classic game.
Interesting......
That might be possible, although to my knowledge, it was Shaba games working on that project, not Eurocom as far as I know.
its not. spider-man classic was worked on by shaba games. and its assets have been shown online for years.

Could you make the development documents public? Or are already available? If so, where did you find them?
@@thebestonumeritos did you could message to documents?
2:33 I LOVE Electro's Design in this, has to be My FAVORITE version so far 👍
@@Bryan-fy5wt it’s so 🔥
Happy to see other People than Spidey Santa do this
Please someone mention the "web climbing" feature in USM, that is very underrated.
They need to bring it back fr.
Nice video! Keep going bro 🫡
why tf doesnt this have more views
I find it kind of weird that it has double dimensional functionality. Maybe the background in that Oscorp level was meant to be explored?
Yeah I tried to go back there but nothing happens
Might've been just for testing purposes, or maybe you were intended to switch between 2.5D and 3D like GameGuy said
good to see avengers reused the web swinging aspect from this game. Love that
Interested to see what this game could have been.
ironic since eurocom was competing with Beenox with their shattered dimensions game and thought this was superior during devopment.
Hey, i played this unreleased game, it was so glitchy, but playable
Very true
I miss the classic Spider-Man experience. When Spidey games were just video games.
Very cool, shame there isn't more to this one as it looked interesting

Oh, well, that certainly sucks. I never knew about this game. I really wonder what it was gonna be about.
Here before you blow up, keep it up homie
Thank you my brother
Where can I play this demo? I wanna know about Spider-Man 4 as well (not the Wii version)
Google “hidden palace”

Tobeys spider was different woah
Intriguing...
Probably an XBLA release was planned for this
Thanks for sharing.
Happy to!

This game should follow the scrapped James Cameron story
It reminded me of the amazing spider man 3d online
badass video

bruh spider-man also has a god damn boxing bag & gloves how do i know this? because i HAD ONE
what if one spider man fan pick up this 'game' and finish this?
That would be cool!

This video would be a lot better if the background music was something like Nickelback or Creed. 7/10. Not enough bionicles either.
6:37 SHABA made web of shadows, not treyarch, getting tired of people making this mistake
It was both studios, I’m literally looking at treyarch’s logo on the back of the box right now
LOL Have the CD game and Treyarch is there
Wait i though shaba were the ones who worked on web of shadows not treyarch
I believe it was both companies
Shaba worked on the main port and treyarch worked on the wii port while also adding their own features.@@GAMEGUY1210
