Got a 4 door golf R at the moment, used to have a 2 door years ago and always thought the 2 door felt a bit better, less body roll and more tight in the corners. Gonna be getting coil overs, front and rear sway bars and polly bushes at the same time. Expecting a huge difference.
I’m curious what your impressions will be when you put the front sway bar in. I always here rsb alone is the way to go for fwd and awd cars generally because they tend to understeer and a front sway bar car accentuate that. I want to get this rsb for my S3 just to give it a bit more rotation at the rear.
I’m surprised you aren’t perma-hooked on AWD after the GTI to R upgrade, but mixing things up makes sense! If you wanna stay German, (no shame in going elsewhere but you’ve already been spoiled by German refinement) I’d say BMW is the way for RWD. Really can’t go wrong with any M. Or you can get the new Supra with that b58 BMW engine lol.
For straight line and slow sweeping corners rear sway bar is good... for hard winding roads with tight corners and spirited driving front sway bar is a must...
hey man! is there any difference between brands for these rear sway bars other than price? want to know if it's worth it going for the IE one over some less expensive brands
034 is the only other reputable brand. I am very impressed with this IE sway bar though and I encourage you to give this one a shot. Especially with Black Friday sales.
I have a vwr rear sway bar on my stage 1 Mk7 gti. It’s a blast and I feel more confident going into corners. I have had it installed for over a year and I can’t imagine driving without it now
2016-2018 BMW M2. I want from a 2016 Golf R manual to a 2018 BMW M2 manual and it's been AWESOME so far. If you can sacrifice having a hatch, highly recommend.
I did front and back plus the end links. with addition of my coilovers. Definitely changes the attitude of the car and I love it.

Have you considered a BMW 440i grand sport 4 door sedan with hatch.
