It's interesting comparing some of the prices then to now based on the RBA inflation calculator. It seems most cars now are cheaper than they were in the 90's, some by a big margin. Eg. the Corolla ($19,990) would be $37,500, however it now starts from $33,600k. The Subaru Outback in 1998 was $37,490, which is $70,782 in 2022, but starts from $47,457 today.
I was hoping to see the original Subaru Brumby ad, can't find a reference to it anywhere on YT.🇦🇺 It's the one with the farmer in the paddock cutting his wagon down to a ute.

Interesting how free AC was a selling point back then too!
Good comment Nick Morton.
I can remember some of these and I’ve not seen them since I was 10
Awesome video posted. Aaaah the memories
Why are car prices barely more now yet houses are 6-10 times more?
4:45 Imagine if "Barina Girl" actually became a tv series😂
Quite the collection. Free air seemed to be the big selling feature!
I'm not Australian and I didn't get that "free air" part. Is it A/C that's free?

They did great in the Barina ads not to show the actual car.
It's funny I'm always getting annoyed about all the ads lol now I'm wanting to watch them 😂😂😂
I was thinking the same thing

Its a shame the cars were utter shit, but Nissans "just wait 'toll you drive it" ads was soo bloody cool.
