I've paid a lot of money to motivational speakers. I quickly learned that the only speakers I could trust to give me the right information and the most motivation, were the ones who actually did what they were talking about. Not fancy but covering the basics makes the most sense in this time. Do more for yourselves, with what you have and don’t buy the marketing ploys. I agree with everything you’ve said 100%. We moved 4.5 years ago from a Tucson HOA to 10 rural acres in the mountains. We’re turning it into a productive farm in fast motion. We are learning all the skills you discussed and such. TH-cam is our friend! Thanks for bringing us along Kevin! (Btw, we’re old folks so there’s that as well. Haha!)

Me too but I don’t understand why you don’t bring back your feeding stations for your pigs. Eating off the ground just exposes them to getting intestinal worms.
If he didn't talk to them I would block the channel. Be kind to your critters even if they are meat animals. They should live a peaceful life.
@@lovemyfamily60 they're pasture pigs. They're going to graze. If there's parasites, they're exposed to them with or without a feeding station.

I moved to my 20 acre place in 2013. I finally bought a new John Deere tractor in 2015 with a loader and bushhog. Since then I've added a rototiller, box blade, rock rake, pallet forks, stump bucket and a mower deck. After having them I don't know how I got by without it all! I'm always finding new uses for these implements. I first bought a CubCadet riding mower and found it as worthless as the Cub Cadet warranty! That's one reason I got the tractor. Surprised at how much the pallet forks have saved me labor.

I was surprised you didn't mention the fencepost pounder. I've watched you and Sarah tackle fencing and trellising projects that would intimidate many of us because you had that little marvel. The two of you have created a wonderful life for yourselves, and the journey continues.

I am so sorry for Sarah's family's loss. I hope she takes whatever time she needs to do all the things and heal. Kevin, you guys have so many new subscribers. People who see you now with 2 farms, a new house, new workshop, new greenhouse ect have no idea how you managed this. Not everyone goes back and watches old vids. I have been around a few years... so I KNOW how you did this. Can you guys do a vid explaining it to others? You guys did a amazing job... and people have no idea how. It is nice to see everything coming together. Even if you guys had to get a mortgage to build the new property up so you can sell the old property and pay it off... that is a well thought out job that was well done. If you scrimped and saved to make it happen... well done! As much as skills on the homestead are important... how to be financially sustainable is often not well thought out.

You both have given us the courage to build and raise chickens, grow our own sprouts in a big glass jar, make our own bread, and eventually move out of crazy California. We are in Ozark, Missouri now-- and love it. I agree with you that southwest Missouri is a wonderful place to call home and raise a family. We are hoping to get a small homestead in the near future, God willing.
