The football match video ended mid-way! There‘s way more coming after that. Another thing about the Werner movies: they‘re in strong northern German dialect, which made it even funnier when I was a kid (and until today)
Thats right! The real funny stuff ist Missing. :/ And there are 4 more Werner Movies. (You can legal Download or read the movie /dvd translated sub Titels)
I wouldn’t say it is a strong dialect they have. Being from bavaria, I am still able to understand everything easily. But when my friends from northern Germany speak dialect, I have trouble understanding them
@@Jedimeister17 Just try the second movie: "Das muss kesseln". There is one person speaking real "Plattdeutsch" in it. This is really hard to understand.
@@Jedimeister17 I was actually thinking quite some time whether it‘s an accent or a dialect. So let‘s just say that Werner speaks undoubtedly „Norddeutsch“ 😂
@@marrykurie48 I watched all the old Werner‘s, and had never a problem understanding. But maybe I don’t remember everything, so I should give it a try again. „Eiskalt“ is the first I did not watch anymore.
The movie's plot is: Cartoonist Brösel (lit. breadcrumbs, aka Rötger Feldmann) has been contracted to write/draw/produce an animated film because his cartoons were so successful. But he has writer's block. So the main producer asks him to remember (funny) stories of his life and the team will cobble them together, somehow. So he remembers his apprenticeship as a plumber at "Gas, Wasser (water), Schwimmbadtechnik (pool technology) Röhrich" [the name "Röhrich" is telling as "Rohr" means tube or pipe, so "by the pipe"]. Master Röhrich is a little pompous and full of himself, he doesn't really work himself (work is delegated to journeyman Eckhardt and apprentice Werner (Brösel's alter ego)) but rather networks with general contractors, politicians, and customers [2nd clip]. He also remembers several "meetings" with the police (mostly because of his "slightly" modified motorbike e.g. a modified indicator that ejects a sausage instead of alternating lights) [1st clip], a biker gang, and when he was in hospital. To string these clips together there is a crowd in a royal movie theater (including a king and a jester!) played by real actors. The visuals are bizarre and the dialogue is cringe AF. The cartoon clips are superb, but the parts with the actors are subpar. The sequels are animated only and imho better but the clips of the first movie are hilarious. You should also look into the second half of the soccer game which is in movie #3 iIrc.
Adding to this the three following movies became full lenght cartoons without the real life acting. Instead of multiple cartoon clips it now became entire full lenght stories still including a lot of little subplots coming from the first movie. The second Werner movie is centered around building a car with his brother from scratch using the engine of an american WW2 bomber to win a bet in an illigale race to save their pet pig from an entiteld nobel man. (Wener - DAS MUSS KESSELN!!!) In the thrid one an investor is building bigger and newer buildings in Werners part of town and tries to throw out all residents of this area. A lot of them leave but Werner his biker friends, the drunken captain next door and his friend Eckat try to sabotage the new building to save the neighborhood from gentrification. (Wener - VOLLES ROOÄÄÄ!!!) During the fourthmovie Werner and friends had enough after another shitty job and decied its time for a vacation. So they claim to be sick, get an old american car and drive south on a road trip through germany to reach the island Corsica. (Wener - GEKOTZT WIRD SPÄTER) Evenehough the plot is not that big, all three movies are still a lot of fun and still have many jokes in them.
About opening the bottles: These bottles have a flip-top closure. This was the prevalent closure type before crown corks became popular. By the time the film was made, the Flensburger brewery was one of the few that stuck to flip-top, and they made the plop sound their signature.
Master Röhrich is the master plumber, Eckart is the bachelor or journeyman plumber, and Werner is the apprentice who loves nothing more than his motorcycle of the rare vintage brand Horex Regina (produced in the early 1950s).
There are 5 Werner films that were all shown in our cinemas. When you see how much fun you have with the short excerpts here on TH-cam, it's a real shame that the films were never translated for foreign countries.
There is another version of the first scene on YT (well, the scene itself is the same, just longer) with accurate subtitles. Just in case you maybe want to give it another watch but with it making sense ^^ Goes for a couple other scenes from this movie as well, always worth checking if there's a version with proper subtitles on YT.
The first movie, Beinhart, was some unrelated cartoons strung together by a weird live action plot. The later movies are full cartoon with proper plots and stories... my favorite being Volles Rooäää!!!
The joke is also in the typical North German pronunciation. Even a German from the south, for example, wouldn't understand all the beautiful different linguistic accents. For me as a North German, Werner is incredibly funny. Werner is a cool guy who is doing an apprenticeship as a plumber. His journeyman Eckhard and his master Röhricht are the other two men who have to repair the heating and want to replace the sink for two customers, Mrs. Hansen and another woman... But at the end of the day there will be a huge mess, trust me... Unfortunately, there's a lot missing from the second clip before and after that shown part. It really escalates quickly ...! Greetings from northern Germany 🇩🇪♥️
these videos are just the beginnings of the scenes. The last one with Röhrich and the toilet is hillariarioud, please keep searching after the rest, it's just fun 🤣
The Werner films were one of the reasons why I decided to become a plumber. I know all the parts by heart and have always imitated Master Röhrich. When our journeymen found out about it, I always had to repeat it in the company. It was a very fun time back then, and later I changed careers. All of Werner's films are partly based on anecdotes from Rötger Feldmann (Brösel), which are presented in a very exaggerated way. You might also like the film "The Little Asshole" (in German: Das kleine Arschloch) by Walter Moers. Another fun fact: Many of the self-built vehicles that appear or can be seen in the film were actually built in the same way or similarly.
In the first video, the plot goes as follows (as I understand it): Werner, the apprentice plummer with the beer bottle at the window overlooking a market, is off-work, probably on a Saturday morning, and looking for some fun. So he pretends to himself to be a football commentator and throws a ball on the market, watching how people get involved with each other, causing chaos and nobody has a clue what is going, particularly the police officers. Werner and the intoxicated birds can watch with pleasure and have a hilarious weekend.
They are from the same movie, which is partially cartoon, partially live action. The live action part has a plot throughout the movie. The cartoon parts are purely episodic and connected only loosely, if at all and they are being created because of the plot.
this movie was spiced with hidden jokes from Kiel, the farmer Market was a real thing on a square called Exer twice a week. I lived nearby this place.😁
What makes this so great is the northern accent and the puns. The Werner characters talk Missingsch, a dialect halfway between regional Low German and standard high German. But unfortunately, the subtitles under this video are largely useless. Nonetheless, Werner is a German classic! 👌🏻
btw the football match wasnt the full match. also there is another football part on a camping place xd. I saw all movies of werner, one of the best german comedy. another good scene is master röhrich on a construction side where werner blows the whole thing up xd
It‘s a classic especially among motorcyclists. Though it’s hard to translate into any other language than German because the North German dialect makes it really funny.
This match combines northern german dialect, football slang and lots of witty puns. Naturally speaking, this is impossible to translate. I would make the case if you can watch this video and 100% get it's humor just by listening, your german has to be very good. So you could put this as a high difficulty german test.
4:46 'but I think like one of the biggest problems I was having was like understanding what's being said because I tried to pull up English subtitles but...' well, that's not exactly _Standard High German_ used by Werner and decoding or translating it is a challenge for all but a few natives living in northern Germany.
eh, everyone that speaks german probably has no problems understanding it. I'm swiss and I didn't have a problem with it even as a kid. But the auto subtitles were absolute trash. So yeah, automatic text to speech might have it's problems with it, but it's not like it's great with any german clips.
There are 5 Werner movies in total: 1. Beinhart! (literally "leg-hard", tough as nails), where life action Cartoonist "Brösel" (literally "crumb", the actual creator of Werner) has to push himself to make cartoons to make a king laugh, lest he lose his head. The cartoon sequences in this one are mostly disconnected, hilarious skids, strung together via the life-action plot line of Brösel struggling to make his deadlines, it also shows that Werner is heavily inspired by his own life growing up as a motorcycle enthusiast and plumbing apprentice 2. Das muss kesseln!!! (literally "That has to boiler", It's gotta go fast), where Werner gets in a fight with a pompous Porsche driver over a girl, so they try to settle things with a race (on which Werner even ends up betting his and his brother Andi's pet pig), spending a big portion of the movie trying to build and perfect the fastest vehicle they can create to beat the Porsche and save their pig. Meanwhile Werner's boss, Meister Röhrich, tries to distil his own alcohol, which blows up in his face (literally), leading Werner to discover that it's the perfect fuel for their race machine 3. Volles Rooäää!!! (literally "full pipe", meaning full speed, though in this case it's likely meant literally), where a big construction project threatens the bar where Werner, Andi and their biker gang friends always hang out, so they do everything in their power to sabotage the project, from Werner dressing up as "der Führer" to manipulate the site's right wing workers into blocking their pipes with their own shit to getting Werner's incompetent boss to work on the site against the owner's will to inevitably cause chaos and mass destruction 4. Gekotzt wird später! (literally "vomiting happens later"), where Werner, Andi and Eckat (Werner's colleague) play a dice game that crowns its winner as their all-powerful, all-deciding "king". Having won the game and the title, Werner degrees that they travel south, to the beach of Korsika for some shallow belly-flops, and thus begins the trio's road trip, with police as always struggling to keep up and stop them for any illegal modifications on their car and 5. Eiskalt (literally "ice cold"), where cartoonist Brösel is believed dead after knocking himself out cold while belly-flopping into shallow water in Korsika (based on the previous movie). His publisher tries to make use of the news as fast as possible, stealing whatever drawings he could find from Brösel's studio to make as much money as he can. Brösel's brother and friends (the inspirations for Andi and the Biker gang) meanwhile steal Brösel's supposed corpse to bring him home where he belongs. During this entire life action plot, we get glimpses into Werner while characters remember Brösel's work. The Werner plotline here is mostly focused on him and his childhood rival Holgi and their constant races that started all the way back when they were babies racing each other in their strollers The last one is usually considered to be the weakest of the Werner movies, though it's still decent, moves 1-4 are absolutely fantastic though! (my personal favorite is "Das muss kesseln!!!", the drama with the brothers trying to save their pet pig from ending up as the main dish in a BBQ is actually heartbreaking and I love the both kind of disturbing and yet also hilarious way they resolve and actually save it in the end, pff)
OMG, I was still a Teenager when this Movie found its way into cinemas. Now, I am almost 50. 🤪 This is typical North German humor... the humor of the 1980s and the 90s. 😅
The Werner films run approximately 120 minutes. And yes, you can buy Bölckstoff beer in real life. A box or two of Bölckstoff with a few bags of chips and the evening is saved. Afterwards, you need an oxygen tent because of all the laughter.
there are 5 movies of werner, i have all of them on blue ray german greetings no it won't work with subtitles, it only works if you understand german well, because of the hambug accent alone
As a child, I often saw it on a VHS cassette. Really very funny. Greetings from Germany. Yes you right. I think some words are more funny in german for a german and you must read and look at the same time. Its difficult.
That's a great movie, first in a series. The bad thing is there are solo many hidden jokes in it, that only one from North -Germany get it. B TW: Fun fact :on the DVDs there were just German subtitles, for those Germans south of the 'Weisswurst border'/ Bavvarians.
auto subs are so frigging bad you probably never really get anything. It cuts whole sentences out and starts in the middle of some others. I'd recommend sticking with manual subs. I think I saw a version of this very scene with manual subs
These scenes are from the same movie "Werner - Beinhart" This was not the whole soccer scene. If you search "Werner Beinhart Englisch" you will find some hardcoded subtitlel scenes from the movie.
Hi I have all cartoon books from Werner.. And im from southern germany but i understand platt, but dont speak it at all. Im a fan since the beginning in the 80-ties and even now i laugh until have pain in the stomage about it. :D
Ich kannte "Werner" - Rödger Feldmann. Der war wirklich so... unglaublich, wundervoll... und dann noch Hartenholm - Wahnsinn. Verstehst Du disen Cartoon
The problem for the creators of Reacton is that this material is copyrighted, so you can only see excerpts or illegal copies on TH-cam, and in these videos here you can only see the beginning of the short stories. Most of these short stories are a day from Werner's youth as an apprentice plumber.
Theres not really a football match going on on the market. He basically threw a football onto the marketplace, watched the disaster unfold and then commented on that like it's a football match. The movie is Based on the "Werner" comic books from the Artist called "Brösel". The first movie was basically some stories from the comics stitched together with some real life acting in between from "Brösel" an his friends. His Brother is actually the voice of Röhrig and some others. The later Werner movies were full stories. If I'm correct there are 5 Werner Movies and they all were huge successes here in Germany. The problem is, you can't really translate it into another language because in the Movie they dont speak plain German. Its northern dialect colled "Platt-Deutsch". If you want to know anything specific just ask. I would do my best to answer it. I grew up with that stuff 😅
Unfortunately the subtitles are not good. a lot of wordplay is lost. right at the beginning e.g. werner says holzbein kiel which means wooden leg. not holstein kiel.
Hello Joel. I can understand enough German to follow these, but they almost remind me of the chaotic comedies of the silent film era, more than US cartoons like Wacky Races that might be the nearest US equivalent I could think of.
Alcohol is prohibited in the workplace. But I also experienced how some people drank so much before work that they couldn't work. And how superiors then covered it up and sent the drunk person home. But alcoholism is often the beginning of downfall.
Haha 😂 😂 😂 that's a classic. One kind of northern dialect. Many people still think it's incredibly funny. Until today. 😂 😂 😂 He's Framing the environment like a soccer game. 😂 😂 😂 And then throwing the ball.... Kick-off. 🤣
Roetger Feldmann, alias Brösel, wrote and illustrated 16 comics and animated 5 Movies. The movies are titled as follows: „Werner - Beinhart!“ (1990) „Werner - Das muss kesseln!!!“ (1996) „Werner - Volles Rooäää!!!“ (1999) „Werner - Gekotzt wird später!“ (2003) „Werner - Eiskalt!“ (2011) All Movies were very successful in cinemas all over German. Roetger Feldmann is from the norther part of Germany, named Friesland. He also staged a few festivals. One where he raced on his Horex Motorcycle, named Red Porsche Killer, against Holgis Porsche. th-cam.com/video/uooI38G0hGY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=n8um6xx6h2E9mcZa Werner is more or less the alter ego of Roedger Feldmann and Holgi is in the real world one of his friends. His name is Holger Henze and he was the owner of a pub.
You should althaugh have a look to the "Kleines Arschloch (little asshole)" cartoons by Walter Moers. More sophisticated language, quite cynical and ways dirtier(only for adults)😂
too bad the best part with Meister Röhrig is missing. 🤣As far as I remember, at some point he stuck his head in the toilet bowl and stumbled out of the window. As the whole house was under water, he landed softly. He then wandered through the house, still with the toilet bowl on his head, and fell out of the window again. The whole thing repeated itself and attracted spectators. Werner and Eckhardt collected money for their master's performance.
Have a look to Lucky Luke. He is a Western Cowboy, hunting the 4 Dalton Brotheres. Everybody knows Lucky Luke in EU. Or Asterix und Obelix, 2 Gaulish Guy´s who use a Magic Potion to beat up the Romans. Also everybody knows this in EU. Both of it are actually French, but super Famous to German Kids since the 70´s till now.
"Would have loved it as a kid to watch" Well, 'Werner' cartoons aren't considered as cartoons for kids, but for adults. 😂 Tgere are far to many explicities and too much "adult speech", I remember the Werner movues to be aired afrer 8 pm on tv.
Yes, Werner is an apprentice plumber, Eckart is a journeyman, and Röhrich is the master who runs the business. Unfortunately, his knowledge is outdated and he is out of practice. That's why Werner and Eckart make fun of him.
Your pronounciation of "Beinhart" (lit. "bone-hard") and "Meister" (Master) were quite good. Did you do some research and practice? A very famous German cartoon is: "Das kleine Arschloch" (The little Arsehole). You can find some clips on TH-cam. "Der Friedhof" (Cemetery) is hilarious black humour. Maybe you'll find "Anti Country Song" funny too. Or you 'll find it offensive to American Culture 😕. I really would like to see you reaction to that.

Oh and yes, werner beinhart is a whole feature length movie, and it actually has a plot. More or less. And you should check out "Kleines Arschloch"
The Werner films run approximately 120 minutes. And yes, you can buy Bölckstoff beer in real life. A box or two of Bölckstoff with a few bags of chips and the evening is saved. Afterwards, you need an oxygen tent because of all the laughter.
Werner ist ein kult Objekt und wirklich typisch deutsch. Von ihm gibt es sogar Bier 😂
there are 5 movies of werner, i have all of them on blue ray german greetings
no it won't work with subtitles, it only works if you understand german well, because of the hambug accent alone
Hey JP, u am from Bavaria...
When you Love "Werner", so, i think the movie "Schuh des Manitu"...
Is allso "German Humor".....
Is very greatfull.,.
Ok l need to see more of these. I was too busy watching the animation to what was being said, very slap stick comedy.
wsg joel, yes its the same movie and the plot def is wacky but its a very good time :)
keep up the good videos!
The auto-generated subtitles are not quite doing the job... It's really difficult to auto translate jokes as well XD
These scenes are from the same movie "Werner - Beinhart"
This was not the whole soccer scene.
If you search "Werner Beinhart Englisch" you will find some hardcoded subtitlel scenes from the movie.
Are you serious? Werner was a thing when I was a kid - I'm 52 now...😂😂😂 Took him some time to get to American 😂
Hi
I have all cartoon books from Werner..
And im from southern germany but i understand platt, but dont speak it at all.
Im a fan since the beginning
in the 80-ties
and even now i laugh until have pain in the stomage about it.
:D
Ich kannte "Werner" - Rödger Feldmann. Der war wirklich so... unglaublich, wundervoll... und dann noch Hartenholm - Wahnsinn. Verstehst Du disen Cartoon
whyd they cut the second vid right there? shits about to hit the fan and Röhrich being drunk is needed context 😂
I studied in Kiel: This market really exists.... and is in Kiel at the Baltic Sea. 😉
Yeah! WERNER😂 Good Choice.
Unfortunately the subtitles are not good. a lot of wordplay is lost. right at the beginning e.g. werner says holzbein kiel which means wooden leg. not holstein kiel.
Der typische Hamburger Dialekt. 😂
youtube: "our automatic translation is state of the a-"
Wennä: "Halma ming Bölkstoff"
He's Framing the environment like a soccer game. 😂 😂 😂 And then throwing the ball.... Kick-off. 🤣
Roetger Feldmann, alias Brösel, wrote and illustrated 16 comics and animated 5 Movies. The movies are titled as follows:
„Werner - Beinhart!“ (1990)
„Werner - Das muss kesseln!!!“ (1996)
„Werner - Volles Rooäää!!!“ (1999)
„Werner - Gekotzt wird später!“ (2003)
„Werner - Eiskalt!“ (2011)
All Movies were very successful in cinemas all over German. Roetger Feldmann is from the norther part of Germany, named Friesland.
He also staged a few festivals. One where he raced on his Horex Motorcycle, named Red Porsche Killer, against Holgis Porsche. th-cam.com/video/uooI38G0hGY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=n8um6xx6h2E9mcZa
Werner is more or less the alter ego of Roedger Feldmann and Holgi is in the real world one of his friends. His name is Holger Henze and he was the owner of a pub.
More Werner PLS...
Werner is not for kids 😂
Of course it is very difficult if you don't speak or understand German, to keep up..
i love your german pronunciation 😂👍
prooooooooooooooooooooscht 🤣
The characters are mostly speaking in heavy northern German accent, the subtitles are definitely having trouble picking up on it.
Both of it are actually French, but super Famous to German Kids since the 70´s till now.
or Tim und Struppy, which is kind of Indiana Jones Adventure Style Comics.
check out "braver lumpi"
Fkt up subtitles for sure.
The "translation" is sooo bad!
Look up werner beinhart english.
The automatic subtitles are really bad.
"Would have loved it as a kid to watch" Well, 'Werner' cartoons aren't considered as cartoons for kids, but for adults. 😂 Tgere are far to many explicities and too much "adult speech", I remember the Werner movues to be aired afrer 8 pm on tv.
Sadly the translations are really bad for this one.
The translation is not good everytimer, because it´s northern german... But in germany this match is legend! :D
How about a reaction to a famous German comedian? Michael Mittermeier Blackout! 😊
You cut the football game at the half😢
The Subtitles are terrible
the subtitles are useless....
When u didn´t understand german, learn it, do u know James Bray? American too, visited 3 times germany and his german is better then my english ;-)
Subtitles are horrible. More than half of what is said is either missing or wrong.
Beinhart literally means hard as bone.
The translation in the captions is really really bad!!!! At least half of it is wrong. 🙈
Werner Beinhart and Das kleine Arschloch my children Germany Movies 😂
Do a reaction video! Of the Netherlands football, orange army in German , the whole street is orange 40,000 fans, in the German street. believe me you will be amazed, we party always with every buddy. Don’t matter we’re u from!
Also the subtitles are WAY off
oh it's just half the game. that clip was way too short.
haha pls watch werner in hospital. pls. its so true. they never let you sleep. they never turn of the light and you cant move to do it and those screaming women at 6 am in the morning, its a comic but a true one and hilarious! weird there is so much german stuff withouth english subs, sorry...like your stuff!
You didn’t even watch the full scenes, then you can talk about not getting the plot
was the wrong video, it ended early and the subs were rubbish.
I guess it's better to do without translation.
