Just did this on my husbands phone and it worked. I used a regular qtip and cut it down the same, didn't work as well as a wooden toothpick. I got a huge clump of lint out right away. Then used the qtip stick dipped in alcohol to clean the contacts. Thank you so much!

I don’t know why I didn’t think of the toothbrush myself! Best info on this I’ve seen. Mine has been refusing to connect with any chargers or it will and charge reaaally slowly. So just tried to clean it out and will see if it improves! Thank you 🤗
Never expected that to work. Did the restart after going on the charger with a toothbrush and its charging.

Thank you so much, isn't it mostly the basic things that work? mine was to clean the port with toothbrush and, in my case, I used a plastic tooth pick to gently scrape inside the port and, you were right, tiny specs of dirt etc came out!! Then it connected perfectly so, THANK YOU AGAIN, THESE VIDEOS ARE AMAZING, NOT TO MENTION COST SAVINGS!!!!! WELL DONE
Thank you! I cleaned the port with a toothbrush and wiped the lighting cable connectors as it seemed dirty/smudged. Worked like a charm! :)
Tried everything, iPhone only charges when I apply pressure onto the charger and really try to push it in, but once I let go it doesn't charge.

Toothbrush made it worse, I ended up using a pin and applying forced to REALLY get in there.

I've actually been having the same problem with my iPad mini for about two months now and even tried to get in contact with apple multiple times about how much the repair would cost and they couldn't tell me, I think it'd be cheaper to get a new iPad mini, I've also had it for three years. None the less it's a super annoying problem and I can't get it fixed right now. I have to push heavy items on the iPad and then hold those items while I pull the charger and slowly let go and pray it works, some how after a long time it just charges. This morning it took me 30-40 minutes to get it to charge, it's super annoying and it sucks because I paid a lot of money for the iPad. The problem with all this is not only that the iPad doesn't charge but also the fact that we all know that apple chargers don't last very long so bending them like this makes it even worse and it's going to break sooner rather than later. I haven't tried this method with the tooth brush yet, but I'm praying it'll work. I also found this person with a very similar problem who came up with a solution. Also I don't think I'm gong to try using a pin because I've heard numerous people saying not to stick anything metal in the charging port and I also don't want to mess with any of the wiring or anything that could further damage my iPad.

It worked! thank you so much! I took a capacitor lead and some rubbing alcohol and gently dug around in there until I had big clumps of lint coming out. I used air to blow out the smaller pieces afterward, and it locked in and started charging immediately!

OMG THIS SAVED MY PHONE!!! So I tried to put my phone in a glass and then put it underwater so I could take cool pictures. But then I dropped it in the water😰😱 so automatically I was like “RICE RICE WHERE IS THE RICE?!” And then I put my phone in the rice I left it in for a while while stressing A LOT when I took it out it was still wet? It also had a piece of rice stuck up the CHARGER PORT!! I used this method and it worked!!! TYSM!

Thanks a lot for the video. Brush technique worked in my case. I cleaned the iphone charging slot with tooth brush and removed the dust and tried charging. Its working perfectly now. thanks for the knowledge sharing.
